APCO-X Installation - UVC For Indoor Air Quality

- I recently installed the APCO-X TUVX-DER by Fresh-Aire UV with remote UV bulb. There was not enough room to install the main unit above the air conditioner A coil, so the remote UV bulb kit worked perfectly in this scenario. APCO-X is an indoor air quality device that de-contaminates the evaporator coil in a central air conditioning system with a UVC bulb, the TUVX-DER model with remote bulb allows for easy installation when space considerations must be made.
The main housing was installed in the return plenum which also includes a UV bulb and titanium carbon matrix to help with VOC's and odours within a building. Check out the video as I show you how to install the APCO-X TUVX-DER from start to finish.

Who's seen good results on coil de-contamination?
Hey know it all. Just wanted to let you know you should thank Craig Migliachio for recommending your channel. As far as I'm concerned, his word is gospel. I followed his recommendation and now I've subscribed to your channel.
Hey Ronnie, not actually a know it all haha. The name has some deep meaning though I have thanked Craig and now thank you for the sub. Cheers!
Great video 👌🏼
Thank you!
That bracket is for duct board you just screw the unit straight to the metal duct work with the gasket
Is common for the transformer to get warm/hot to the touch. I have a 40va transformer. Thanks
Check the amp draw on the low voltage side? Is it within spec? But in general transformers do get hot.
How would simply adding a high merv air filter be? This sounds like more expense to maintain. Thank you
I know hvac and electrical both deal with electricity, but are you less likely to be shocked or killed with hvac? Also around here the plumbers union pays more than the hvac does, but who generally makes more working for yourself? Thanks
We are trying to replace the bulb but the end part (where the wires are) is stuck and won't come off. Any tips on how to get it off? Thanks!
Does the airflow seriously matter between the carbon filter and the uv light because I'm seeing to Install it so the airflow hits the uv light first but I kind of have to install it so the carbon filter is first otherwise the uv light would be shining on the filter and not on the coil
Would it be beneficial to have one in both the supply and return? Or is having on in the return sufficient enough?
It's beneficial yes but better in the supply above the coil if possible.
What are your thoughts on utilizing the EAC terminals on the control board. That way the UV system will energize upon fan start up.
It's recommended to keep it on at all times to continue coil sanitization.
I know many in the medical and science field use UV light to sterilize utensils, however how can the air become sterilized if it’s moving at such a high speed across the ducting?
The coil is sterilized as the light is directly above it
@@HVACKnowItAll oh so the main portion is just on the return due to size constraints however the remote bulb is taking care of the coil. Thank you sir
👍
