Here in Malaysia, beekeepers insist that you gotta to put some brood (including some queen cells) honey, pollen, and a bit of propolis from an old hive into a new hive to split the old hive. Do you ensure both hives in hard splits contain queen cells? Or can the workers make a new queen from young brood like honey bees?
Hi - Thanks for this. You also mention "soft splits" several times - so how's a soft split different? ( you forgot to define it/ described it for us new to this)
Hi Denver, sorry about the late reply! A soft split is where you bud a new hive by connecting it to an existing one. I have a video explaining the process here ua-cam.com/video/fVAHjWwEqmU/v-deo.html
Hi Baylon Stingless bees have a steady supply of young queens developing incase they need to requeen. One of these ‘hatches’ and then becomes the queen in the half that is queenless.
Hello Sir.. i'm sorry disturbing you by asking some questions: 1. is mother hive must move to another place +/-10 meter and daughter hive stay in old place ? 2. is it okay if i put mother hive and daughter hive side by side ? because possiblity worker bee from daughter hive back again into mother hive. Thank you for sharing your knowledge for me, and i hope you response my questions Sir. have a bless day Sir
@@PracticalPrimate They are cute, I wouldn't be as scared of them as I am of the honey bees. Actually some joggers got stung hundreds of times by Africanized bees that took over an amateur beekeepers hive. They had to exterminate them.

how about the queen? can they survive without a queen?
Hi Baylon
Stingless bees have a steady supply of young queens developing incase they need to requeen. One of these ‘hatches’ and then becomes the queen in the half that is queenless.

Whear from collection Stingless beehives.?
They are native here. My originals were rescues or eductions from trees on friends property.

Good
I advise you to not turn the bees that way. Because the bee larvae that is inside the discs can drown in the fluid that is inside the egg cell
