I love how most of the hero’s better themselves and are relieved of their problems. Hellion rejoins her tribe, occultists is free from the shambler, vestal is able to express compassion with someone ect
And then there is Damien
And Leper is still the biggest chad there is.
@@TheFuriousBrotherI believe Damien’s just going back to finding new pain and suffering, he doesn’t really have a happy ending other than going back to how he was living before this
@@FatWalterWhite69 I guess it kind of is a happy ending for him. He's just so hardcore that an existence as a zombie constantly flogging himself is actually the best life for him.
Bahroo really met God and the first thing he did is asked about his blight resistance
Just noticed this but at the ending scene, next to Dismas is Reynaulds helmet and sword
Damn yeah
Rip reynauld the beloved crusader
nah, he will come back and steal all the loot, I just know it
@@roboorc1234 He's gonna be the new shrieker boss and steal all your loots
nooooooo reynauld, I was hoping they'd add a dlc or something for him
That mini intro cutscene for the boss has no business going this hard 🥶
I like how it's showing you facing the culmination of all of the main character's hard work and failings, and it turns around and flashes the Iron Crown like it's telling you "Bring it!" xD
DD1 final boss: Come Unto Your Maker
DD2 final boss: The cooler Come Unto Your Maker
Come Unto Your Maker. But for the fear/failure
Come unto your failure?
@@majorblitz3846 More like Come out of your failure.
That was... remarkably wholesome ending.
A very wholesome and fulfilling ending. However, with the world of darkest dungeon there is always some strange, ancient and cosmic entities and evils that lurk beyond the realm of human thought. There is plenty more content that can be made moving forward plus mod support. I can’t wait to see what Red Hook does next.
Honestly the only thing I dislike about the game. It doesn´t fit in the theme of cosmic horror where you might have “defeated” what seemed like the big bad, but you don´t win - ever. This is more of a psychology session where they end up accepting their pasts. But I guess any dlc or similar will show if it changes.
@@Tue_ well, i think themes of the two games are quite different.
On one hand - futile and hopless fight against cosmic being and it's many horrors that cannot be truly beaten - only set back.
On the other - struggle to better oneself and through it - better the world around you, leaving it a better place, hopefully.
@@Tue_ I mean, technically we only defeated the protege's (MC) corrupted past and failures. The thing that caused the corruption itself, the Iron crown thing, is still out there somewhere
@@aquatech1753 Think you need to look further than just what is presented at face value. :)
The game is based on the story "at the mountains of madness", and I did manage to find synopsis (or whatever the word is) that makes a bit more sense (at least to me) of what they are going for with this one.
"The terror of At the Mountains of Madness is that the past is never complete, nor intelligible in the way we would like it to be: The dead will not remain dead forever, but their resurrection will be no easy affair. Their mistakes will pullulate, and the living will pay for their hubris. (“The past is never dead, it is not even past” - Faulkner.)"
(just search for "at the mountain of madness themes")
Basicly - from my understanding - the protoge was looking for the perfect equation where there basicly isn´t one, and similarly so does the "heroes". Trying to flee their past instead of coming to accept it - guess the only reason (besides gameplay) the antiquarian isn´t with the group is her having a harder time coming to terms with it, and she constantly looks for knowledge too.
So not sure the crown itself is more than a mcguffin.
It warms my heart to see Jester play for kids like that. To see everyone finally getting some semblance of peace and fulfilled purpose. Also Paracelsus is very cute underneath her mask.
The leper holding the bird on his finger was my fav.
Boudica regaining respect from her clanmates, Audrey sharing a drink with the Hoarder, Bonnie... helping survivors, I think?
Poor hwm though. I know he's a criminal and his crime is unforgivable, but I can't help but feel for the guy. He's still reflecting, staring at on the locket too
@@digitaldevil696 at least he deserves a peace of mind for now
Vestal smiling and holding hands with someone.
The dungeon was the mistakes we made along the way?
Yep. 😢
Its not the end guys. The Crusader is still out there.
I dont think so, his helmet is lying next to dismas in the end credits scene with a candle on it
Edit: Actually Im gonna retract what i said, I noticed someone else mention maybe he just went back to his wife and kid because hes done fighting leaving the door open for him to possibly come back later down the line
My mans on that military grade copium...
@@linkmaster402 Naw, he's not 'out there.'
He's driving the stagecoach.
He's the protege.
@@linkmaster402 DLC perhaps?
My boy... Hes come home.
You are the coolest guy for waiting to the ad's end mid fight haha
Love "ooo... blight resistance 100% " haha :) Great battle.
Bahroo really pulled up on god with that team comp and god said BLGT 100 GOOD LUCK MFER. And after a perfectly timed pause followed by a "... that's awkward" that absolutely sent me, Bahroo proceeded to crush phase one anyways. Iconic.
At least this one has a harder final boss. DD1 is so hard, yet they activly decided to make the last boss easy.
It's hard to do a rule of cool with an overly complicated boss. They try to do it memorable without the need of a bad taste on it.
32:20 Oh look it's me
The Darkest Dungeon was inside us all along.
This was an awesome playthrough Bahroo. Thanks for doing the new God Comp.
Editor here! Updated the thumbnail! Will change it back to old thumbnail after it's out for a while. My bad!
Full deathless playthru series please 🙏🏻
I didn't get the see all of the game (wasn't around for the streams) but I can't wait to see the deathless run. That final boss though looked really fun to fight.
I'm surprised still all the Chuthulu references but he still hasn't appeared as a boss
33:00 Does this confirm that the Crusader is dead ? Why would his helmet be here with the candle if he's still alive ?
Because he is done fighting and can return home. They left the door open for when (or if) they add him without having to modify the ending
@@feluto7172 I hope it's that, I really want Reynauld back ;(
@@feluto7172 Another fan theory amidst the countless horrors found....
In the Darkest Dungeon.
About half as difficult as Focused Fault Pog
Any chance for a full game from your twitch been released here :-)
Is this thing just all the previous bosses turned into one power rangers megazord?
lol just beat the game and came to see what other people are running, the exact same comp everywhere haha its so busted!
There's a few really strong comps in this game, TBF
Why is this build busted? I feel like hellion would be better than maa
@@lucasbrant9856 maa with vanguard is almost unkillable and hits like a truck on top of being the best tank in the game that can easily guard anyone as needed, you don't really need hellion for a DOT build
I honestly wasn't even going to consider getting the game because of so many changes but the moment I saw the final boss flare up with the symbol I thought to myself "f*** it"
Nice ending
OK, I have two questions regarding Flaggelant :
- why he has acidic abilities and burns ? what happened to him ?
- Who's Lesh ? Is it the entity that made him a warlock ?
- What's his past ? All I know is the comic, but can I find more in the wiki or somewhere else ?
That's three.
As far as I know between the first and second game all that self bleeding caused a bad case of sickness that reworked his abilities the burns are from a trinket lesh idk
So you know how the flagellant is a masochistic nutcase, right?
He’s mauled his body to the point of decay. Now he’s a sepsis-ridden, rotted mess who beat the crap out of death itself to become an immortal masochistic psychopath
His past is quite simple, he was a beggar who got beat up and was caused to become a major masochist, turning him to religion to become a flagellant. Because of his overzealous, he was kicked out and kinda just wandered around feeling pain.
As for his new blight powers, he died (either during Dd1 or after) and when literal death came to off him, he basically said F off and fought her back, leaving him turned a zombie, which is why there’s a new death boss that has a chance to appear if flag is in your party. Also he doesn’t normally burn, that’s just coming from what I presume is the librarian trophy equipped
The Flagellant flagellated so much, all that bloodwashing eventually made his blood septic, toxic like, together with his zealotry and his sheer will of defying death made him corpse like, hence the blight influence he has in DD2. He's not dead or undead since death herself is there to hunt him down. As for the burn, it's the Librarian trophy that Bahroo equipped on the stagecoach which applies 3 burn whenever characters land a CRIT on enemies.
DD2 Deathless when? :roosmug:
Why put anything like that on the thumbnailf you
Cry more xD
at least this ending was on a more hopeful note, unlike its original. in this one its enough to make you think hope can shine again.
probably world first kill
Awesome mechanics

The full game has just come out... You could've chosen a thumbnail that didn't spoil the final fucking boss you know?
this is why you stay off youtube when a game you like has come out, plus after that epig shenanigans, yeah doubt people care about spoiling stuff
@@ohenthevoidwatcher3939 i mean there's not much i could've done since it just appeared on my feed despite avoiding dd2 videos. and what are people just supposed to not use youtube at all until they finish their playthrough? doesn't seem very reasonable in comparison to just not using a spoilery thumbnail right after a game came out.
sorry for the rant...
@@ah9938 buddy.. know the word "WON'T"..?
Pretty popular cuz can be used in any action
@@Mixhy553 Jesse, What the Fuck Are You Talking About?
It doesn't show the full model, or even anything beyond the fact that shockingly, the Iron Crown is part of its design. Who could have ever seen that coming
Pretty cool Baws
My laptop's hard drive died while I was watching this video. Poggers 👍
Good to know twitch ads still ruin the watching experience
You really gotta be off your rocker to put the final boss in the thumbnail after the game's only been out for a day
Not like everyone who bought the game and already playing should care right?
Oh, no! You can see the Iron Crown in the thumbnail! It's only one of the most common design motifs in this game
@@jacobkern2060 The editor changed the thumbnail. before it was just a straight up image of the boss
@@jakefairley6993 Yeah think before you speak my dude. The whole thumbnail beforehand was a cut and dry final boss in full view.
2 ads every 5 minutes wtf
I was here!

The ending was surprisingly wholesome, but this battle was the best one in the whole series. Miles better than the final battle in DD1
Roosit
Cheers for the spoiler, maybe pick a more generic thumbnail that doesn't spoil shit next time
Not our problem you stop to double check, mate..
@@Mixhy553 Not how it works mate, I was scrolling through and I was looking at the thumbnail before I even read the title, then I clicked on the video to leave this comment
And regardless, the guy changed the thumbnail anyway, so he knows he slipped up

Already played trough it? Wow, DD is such a disappointment
I mean, he spent the past two weeks working on and tweaking a comp that could handle just about anything, and farming out candles to max out the meta-progression stuff for the Flagellant. That and the game's been in early access for over a year and hasn't fundamentally changed from either the early access or even changed that much from DD1
Before you rant, Bahroo was already prepping himself for the update, he already has his "God comp" and was very knowledgeable of the game. He's known, along with Shygeta to be the "Game brokers". DD2 is as punishable and hard as DD1. None of them has even attempted on doing the Stygian blaze yet, considered as the hardest difficulty in the game.
Did… did that final boss just salute the heroes as it dies??
Yeah, looks like it
That's because it IS part of the Scholar: when you land the killing blow it might have realised what abomination it has become, and congratulates the heroes for putting an end to its madness
Looks more like it shades the eyes as if it has a hard time seeing, and then reaching out for something.

I love how they redid come unto your maker into a much more interesting move. In the first installment it felt like playing against "rock falls, you die" DM, in this one it actually feels more narratively focused, while still rewarding well-thought strategies and min-max tactics
Come unto your maker fit the theme well. No matter what planning you do, or how precious have been, *There WILL be loss*. That, even mechanically, do not get a clean victory. Even if you breezed through the rest of the fight up to that point, 2 people will be sacrificed to finish the fight...
Face your Failures does the same, but for dd2's theme of reconciliation. *Your failures* can be overcome, and if you face it and survive, you will be set free. It doesn't even discredit the broad themes of cosmic horror, because even if YOU have dealt with your past, made peace with your misdeeds, it can never be over. Even with the brightest light, there will still be shadow, there is always the potential for good, as there is always potential for evil.
@@josh___somethingbut as long as we hold our torches high, and ensure the monsters in us are never left unchecked, the darkness will always remain at bay.
The symbolism and emotional complexity of this game is absolutely baffling.
I feel like everything about DD2 is a contrast since it is much less debauched, sexual and cynical. Kind of reminds me of how Honkai Impact and Gun Girls Z was when Mihoyo was when it was shock edgy.
DD2 felt like a sincere path in looking for redemption through confession and even though we may trip, some of the light may flicker, there is still hope
@@MrAsaqe IIRC the creators wanted it to be the opposite in terms of DD1. 'There IS hope, we CAN fight back the darkness, though working together we can bring down the horrors, we can let go of our past, of our guilt, we can forgive ourselves, whilst the end is always inevitable, we can make a difference and that it's worth trying.'
Compared to the more traditional Cosmic Horror ending of 'everything is doomed, not matter who you do, it's going to end, the only thing left for us is madness in an uncaring universe' that DD1 was.
Props to Red Hook Studios. Masterpiece of a sequel.
Though bleak there is always a glimmer of hope.
I like this ending :)
This happened to my friend Ben once.
Redhook are clever. Use "Final Combat" OST from original game. That gives me terrible flashbacks...
Heart, Brain, Lungs, Eyes... And now... Body!
obligatory OMG BAHROO POSTED TO YT AGAIN comment
also is there a dif end if u face all your parties pasts or say kill NONE of them?
32:12 that is the scholars body up there. He’s saluting you because you put an end to his torment.
Nah the hooded guy id you. It was revealed in ambition
holy heck, it's been so long xD
So anybody gonna point out the first phase we literally dickpunch academic toxic masculinity....?
And it's called Body of Work. I think the devs had a rough grad school o.o
All I can say is that it's a massive improvement from DD they really have improved a lot
Honestly can't wait for a series from you bahroo hopefully
Such a great game, great stream, great streamer.
You plan on uploading a deathless run to UA-cam for darkest dungeon 2
