A Good OC is flexible They have to fit their scheme somewhat to the players that have on the roster. They have to be able to adjust the run pass mix based on the defense that they are going against. They have to be able to adjust the offense based on what the defense is doing. They have to be able to call plays that set up other plays, put pressure on the defense and get into a rhythm. They have to be willing and able to adjust the gameplay on the fly and go with a hot hand. Your QB has to trust you, and you have to put your QB in the best possible position to succeed on every play.
Really good video on a topic ppl dont talk about much in bite size, good example is Norv Turner, cant remember the last time he made that system work and I know with the vikings it was forced on personnel that didnt fit.
Hey Zach. I'm 17 currently and when i graduate i might have a job at a school in Colorado as an assistant. My dream is Offensive Coordinator. And honestly this video was a bit of a wake up call. Thanks
@E.Pzooooo oh man, life has HAPPENED. Ended up moving to Colorado. Graduated HS. Was looking at a HS in the next town over to be an assistant. Right when things were looking decent I ended up homeless after a miserable sequence of events. Still love football. But now I'm planning a future as a CNA and becoming a volunteer youth coach when I can move into a city.
Yo Zach, I’ve been following you for a minute and I notice you post a lot of content at ridiculous times of the night. I’d suggest posting earlier in the evening or midday to get the most views on your content
For example, I see that the LG gets called 2 times for initiating a false start on the offense by causing the defensive line to go offsides. I would watch that left guard and if he gets called for a false start again, I would pull that person out of the game for incompetence and substitute the bad LG with the better one. I would relay that to the assistant coach and then the head coach, if I were the offensive coordinator.
Two thing @Zac one: Why do you think Bill O Brian trader Dhop for an aged DJ and two: If you could only bring three food items for the rest of you life to a remote island , what would you bring
I’d love to see you do a segment on him and maybe some film study of how he runs things on the field in order to cater to his players as well as he does
so everything you said in this video is EXACTLY why adam gase sucks as an OC. like i been saying, he should be only the HC and not the OC. he needs to concentrate on the team and let someone else call plays, creative plays at that
My boy zac on the grind 💪
Thanks for this, I needed to make sure i wasn’t crazy as a steelers fan
It’s too late to tempt me to watch this Zach cmon man

Dante Kaus as a vikes fan I really like you guys and its a shame o’brien is screwing things up bc that roster is loaded with talent.

He uploads and then it comes up when its done. Some youtubers publish dates and times.
EstParum yeah I figured. He should set it back a bit tho

If your offense is good
Any Reid josh McDaniels are perfect examples.

I believe he addressed this in a previous episode. Pretty much said it was a lopsided trade.
I know you like Nagy, but after listening to this did you apply this criteria to him?
Thanks for the follow
I wish we had an OC
good coaches will maximize their player’s skill set. shit coaches won’t and I don’t think there is an inbetween
How do you feel about Lincoln Riley?
I’d love to see you do a segment on him and maybe some film study of how he runs things on the field in order to cater to his players as well as he does
Should'be made a longer video.. Hell of a topic.. No argument with that opinion..
