really appreciate you sharing these spots. extremely helpful for those of us just starting out and not knowing here to look. checked the second spot out last week and it was beautiful. got me excited to head back up and explore all the other forest roads I passed along the way. thanks again! 🙏
Thank you and yes it is amazing what you can find just off the beaten path! Was surprised those places weren't full of people since they weren't hard to get to.
@@TheBlackdawgAdventures We try to mix it up as I like mountain tops and Valerie likes water :) I like water too though. Just got back from another trip up to Stampede Pass where we camped then down to Lake Cle Elum where we found a nice spot. Video soon to come! Thank you for watching!
Thank you guys for showing this spot it was a great spot I just went down for the 4 of July weekend and had 3 wonderful days by hood river and my wife loved it thanks again

Do you belong to any 4 x 4 clubs or Overlanding clubs? And if so, which one is your favorite? I’m new to the area down from Alaska here in Silverton, Oregon and I was wondering what you guys use for backcountry road guides besides hard maps
We do belong to a couple groups on Facebook but have not participated in any outings yet. Facebook - facebook.com/Pwelco/ groups Salem Jeepers, PNW Overlanding, PNW Jeep Couples and just a few that we have joined. You living in Silverton are poised in a great location with nearby locations in the Bend area. Sisters area is amazing and east of Bend as well. My sister lives in Bend so we go there a few times a year.
To find places we first decide where we want to go and how far based on how much time we have. I then use both GAIA maps and Google maps. OnX Offroad has the most current road/snow conditions that can show snow on the logging roads so use that also. We actually became Trail Guides for OnX last year where we submit trails. Great discounts if you are accepted.
It did come with the xtreme recon package which comes with a 1-1/2" lift. With all the weight we haul I also had to add a 1" spacer in the rear to level it out. It is certainly capable of going to more extreme terrain which is shown in this video, ua-cam.com/video/odboYanUkSI/v-deo.html. It's just that Valerie has had 4 back surgeries so I try to take it easy on her. As far as a higher lift goes, I do like the look of a 3-1/2" Metal Cloak lift but for now it works for us :). Thank you for watching!
Please don’t openly share coordinates to campsites on the internet. I don’t mean to gatekeep but this is how these beautiful places begin to get littered and abused.
Thank you for your input. Although we do agree, most other channels share theirs if you are on their Patreon account. Meaning you pay for it. Doesn't matter where we go, we are always picking up other peoples garbage so we plan accordingly and carry large garbage bags. This ridge site was no exception. We will consider not doing so and thank you for watching!
@@davidgarcia-ee2ko True on the site along the river. Great place to jump off the road if its getting late. Couldn't see the road and very little traffic, as well as the sound of the river is all we could hear. Thank you for watching!
Hi! There are a lot of nice places to camp up this way for sure. Thank you very much for watching our channel and commenting! Born and raised in Hillsboro Oregon myself :)

Super happy you found the place. Love that spot and easy to get to. Glad we could help 👍Thank you very much for watching and commenting!!
Those were a couple of really nice spots you scored on a holiday weekend. It definitely pays off to drive a bit further off the beaten path

I loved the site next to the water. Great job...but my husband likes mountain top views too.

I like the lights in your 270 awning🎉 and where did you get those pants? They look like they could go on an expedition I like them.

I'm surprised you don't have a 2 to 4 inch lift to get thru more rugged terrain to much better views.

Dude, these roads are all well known and heavily trafficked. That first campsite is literally 100 yards from a major hwy.
