- Sackboy: A Big Adventure moves away from providing creation tools, but it's still a jolly platformer filled with all the charm you'd expect from one of his outings. *Review Copy Provided by PlayStation

You gotta love Brad going from Demon's Souls to Sackboy Adventure giving them both equal respect. Consummate professional.
I was just thinking the exact same thing - one year later
I've played 23h of this game and still haven't done everything I want to do. Such a fun and awesome experience. So glad to see Sackboy back!
23 hours??? Christ.
Sackboy and Astro together as launch games. Now if only we get Knack the trinity will be complete
One of these is not like the other
Nah, Knack can sit this console generation out.
Knack is awful. How about Ape Escape instead.
@@acquiescence5331 I like knack :) I also like Ape Escape though.. hmm how about both.
at least we got Bugsnax, it's purportedly regarded as the PS5's very own Knack. Only time will tell if it can hold up to be as relevant against Knack over the years.
You guys have easily become one of my favorite and trusted reviewers. Keep up the good work!
Got to say: Brad really developed his skills in the past 4 years. Great work!
"unfortunately there's only local co-op play" I love that though, playing with friends in the same room is a great time, i dont get this aversion unless they're in their own apartment. It's been an unhealthy trend, and we haven't had a ton of fun co-op experiences since ps3/360. Usually that type of fun content has been exclusive to nintendo. I hope there are more couch co-op experiences this generation
Its definitely nice to have it but in these times it's kind of a miss to not have online coop with COVID
It just got online too
It's always incredible how your conclusions matches the score so well. I often find myself predicting your score correctly based off of the ending statements.
The game looks so sharp and colourful. The music sounds great too. Nice review, Brad.
I don’t know why but I like how the cutscenes are done in a widescreen aspect mostly used for movies.
I can't believe this is the third review of this game in existence.
Ikr, I wonder what's up with that
@@retrohero2762 Yeah, no one's reviewing the game for some reason
Metascore of 80 from 56 reviews. Whatchu talking about?
@@PhotonSieve I guess mostly on youtube.
@@retrohero2762 xbox fan boys
Update for online co-op can't come soon enough
Does anyone know if share play works while we wait?
@@Haobey it does 👌
“with *jovial* cardboard cutouts”
I feel like that has to have been a side bet for someone to slip that in because of their podcast team.
They hit us with the double 'review copy' bit PogChamp
Good review!
I feel the Little Big Planet series is underrated, hopefully this game introduces more people to the series.
I'm happy to see Sackboy return. Sony better push him further as a mascot.
This mans voice gives me insane nostalgia from 2007ish years on gametrailers. Take me back
Best Playstation launch ever? I smell lots of good early games.
It seems the ‘worst’ game is Godfall, and mainly not for a lack of quality but its repetitiveness. And even that has an average score of 68!
Starting this as soon as I'm done with demon's souls. So impressed with the ps5 launch and how diverse and great all the games are. Going from astrobot to spiderman to demon's souls has been amazing and then sackboy is waiting for me when I'm ready for that.
@@user-os7ec4dm8x or $680 it's not like I didn't have 5 years to start setting money aside.
@@user-os7ec4dm8x so? Well worth it
This games charm is so amazing! It's actually my favorite launch game no doubt 😊
Easy Allies In 4K, i thought I'd never see the day lol.
4:07 “You can also play with upto 4 people if you got friends around. Sadly though it’s local only at the moment.”
I thought he would say “Sadly, you don’t have any.” What a personal attack that would have been!!
LBP was always a decent franchise but I LOVE this game. One of my favorites thus far on PS5!
Been playing this and Spider-Man since I got my PS5. Both great games and look amazing
This game is a blast, friends. Over 50 levels, tons of challenge, and some good humor. Highly recommend 👌

I’m honestly ok with no level builder if it means a better focused story. I love making things but little big planet was too much. I’m looking forward to this
It's a really really good game, I hope that it sells well
Little Big Planet was too much? Are you crazy. The level building made the game and created and a huge community of creativity. It was what the game was meant for
Little big planet was better because you could play other people's created levels and play the multiplayer
Nice review Brad.
4:08 Multiplayer comment: Can the game be completed fully in co-op? Similar to say a Mario, Donkey Kong or Yoshi?
Or only specific stages/arenas are for Mulitplayer?
You can play all of it in co-op. You both unlock trophies and outfits too if you're logged in.
@@Kristen59 thank you for clarifying!
Sackboy A Big Adventure is so much fun, the colourful worlds, relaxing music, overall feel good vibe, always a treat to play, it’s a amazing game 🙌
Just went on sale for 20 bucks. Definitely picking this up
What about the dual sense controller? Is it being used well?
There have only been a handful of times when I noticed the rumble or triggers being put to use in the ways Astro’s Playroom did. A slight resistance and click when using the grappling hook for instance. When playing through Astro’s I was surprised how effective the triggers and rumble were. In Sackboy it’s fine but nothing to write home about. Having a jolly ol’ time with the game though.
It seems no fame uses it anywhere close to what Astro does with it. Hopefully that will improve over time. I think Gran Turismo and Ratchet and Clank with use it effectively.
Fav launch game of mine by far
Swimming in 7...Oh. Oh that's a pleasant surprise.
This game has such a great Super Mario 3D World energy, and I'm totally on board with that.
Love the music in this game.
One of the best family entertainment game ! Highly recommend.
"If you have friends around."
Ya'know what?! I'm happy there was a focus on local multiplayer. We've been saying for years we need more local multiplayer. You know, just invite a bunch of your buddies over to your house. Having people over to your house is the best. Just a bunch of people hanging out in an enclosed environment for a prolonged period of time and...
....Oh.... Yeah.... 2020... Great.... And the.... Yeah..... With the.... ugh... And the....

.......Is it January yet?
they're trying to further divide people with their f@ke v)ru$ 0utbr3aks. some of my fellow "conspiracy theorists" predicted it would happen just a few months before it actually happened. what a coincidence...
Looks fun! waiting on this one to hit $20
Once I finish demon's souls than I might get this. Keep hearing good things.
Really loved playing Astro’s Playroom so I’m gunna be picking this up for more of that itch
Considering how long it took to develop, it's a shame that Sony is completely overlooking Dreams during these days of PS5 launch, specially with the possibilities offered by the new controller.
I know, I was thinking this exact same thing myself. Dreams is so underappreciated and undervalued by Sony. It should have had a day one PS5 upgrade ready and online co-op too and then Dreams could have had the chance to get the love it deserves.
@@rashonburnett6473 Dreams should have been the pre-installed game. Or at least the first PS Plus game for the console. That's the Media Molecule syndrome: the bigger they develop, the lesser the reward.
@Sir Galahad That's great news!! Those guys deserve it.
Jolly cooperation.
Awesomeness video
So jolly
Sackboy is amazing
I'm buying this game to couch co-op with my wife.
This game is amazing
not having level creator is a bummer
jolly
Damn I want to play every single PS5 exclusives.
This is also available for PS4
@@scottclay9005 True that. I am 99% sure you got a ps4 Gameskyjumper, go play it there
This is an excellent game. I like it just as much as the LittleBigPlanet games they spun off of. Even better, my five-year-old daughter loves it.
Great game for me and my girlfriend!
The Badguy's name is WHAT?!

Can you please review Bugsnax? Best game 2020

Demon Souls and Sackboy Together at last
Good review though it feels more like an 8 to 8.5 if online stuff gets added, but closer to 7.5 without it. Still seems charming none the less; I wish I had the time to play it...
Awesome and great game to play on ps5 system 🦊
EASY BREEZY
Looks quite a bit like Super Mario 3D World.
Who's reviewing cyberpunk? Or hasn't decided yet
Ben will be. -Bloodworth
@@EasyAllies Nice! I was expecting it to be you Blood, because you did the TW3 review and the expansions.
I have no friends
You know this reminds me....everyone who wanted a PS5 get them yet?
Hell no, and I’m not about to support scalper trash either. I’ll wait till I can get one without constantly refreshing a page but I definitely am thirsty for ps5
I wish sony would provide me with a playstation
Ps5 already has tons of exclusives. Good start
Knackboy.
Don’t sleep on this game guys it’s great!
Local co-op only but can't use my old controllers = boooo!
I think it's fair for LittleBigPlanet to be split between a traditional platforming franchise (this game) and a game creation tool (Dreams).
And with this review my last shreds of interest in getting a Series X right now have completely vanished. This makes 5 Playstation 5 launch exclusives with decent scores to Xbox’s 0? Did the Series X launch with no exclusive console sellers at all?
That's exactly what they did
Microsoft's said they're not doing exclusives anymore. The Xbox is more of a pc alternative, especially since gamepass works on both console and PC.
@@ScarfKat well they are still doing exclusives they just currently don't have any. But halo and the next hell blade for example will be exclusive
@@vinzig5036 The last Hellblade was on PC and Halo's made a large move to PC recently as well. I don't think they're exclusives.
@@ScarfKat the last hell blade was originally a PlayStation console exclusive and then Microsoft bought them so it will now be exclusive. They will still probably release on pc but they are still considered Microsoft exclusive games being that's the only console you can get them on
Ps4 version looks great as well. Can’t see much of a difference.
So does Sackboy take advantage of the dual sense controller, because in a professional review that would have definitely been mentioned, if not then OK.
Yes it does. There are some cool effects, like when you pull the vines out of the ground.
@@K_CP Ok, so I wonder why they didn’t mention that, that’s part of the experience, for PS5 anyways. Half ass review!
@@MyMinorE Look at who reviewed it. His reviews are barely half-assed. Look at his Sekiro and Demon's Souls reviews. He barley mentions anything outside of the basic mechanics, and people in the comments praise it like," ThE OnLy ReViEw ThAt MaTtErS!!!"
Its expensive for a children game 40$ would've been more appropriate its more expensive than cyberpunk 2077 let that sink in.
Sadly, just because it's a "kids" game doesn't exempt from the asinine means to make the game. Not everyone can pull CD projekt's generosity. Still gonna get it though. 😅 If I can get a ps5... At all.
4:07 "Sadly it's local only." You have it backwards: Thankfully it offers local play unlike most games. You should be commenting on games that have mlultiplayer that isn't local.
He probably says 'sadly' because a lot of people can't play together locally right now.
Who cares about basement, isolated, forever-alone, online multiplayer... I'd rather play with some real life friends next to me and having a blast!
Finally, I mean finally we get offline multiplayer to be prioritized!
After recently completing Super Mario Galaxy on Switch, this looks pretty meh
Personally would had give it a 7 simply by the annoying voice he now has
Why not sackgirl adventure ? Let the people choose non-binary also..
/s
It's a shame that this game ripoffs so much stuff from Super Mario 3D World. Thanks god Nintendo still exists in this industry. The lack of creativity in this entry blatant..... looks good tho
The problem with Nintendo fans is they only play Nintendo games and they are convinced Nintendo invented everything. An example: Breath of the Wild. That game has NOTHING original but is the new Dark Souls of being referenced constantly. Also, no company rips off Nintendo as much as Nintendo itself.
