What makes me mad is the style difference between the fighters and how that can’t be represented on ufc scorecards. Fighters like olivera are very good at fighting off the ground but that doesn’t matter when you factor in how fights are scored. Strickland doesn’t respect the takedown because he knows his wrestling is good enough to where he can find a way back up to his feet. It’s really easy to double leg someone who stands straight up like Strickland does.
What makes no sense is how they count takedowns but dont count when a guy gets back to his feet. I think getting back up is just as difficult and skillful. Especialy if he takes u down and dont land any strikes.

A scoring system where a takedown that somebody stands up from 5 seconds later is somehow equal to like 50 kicks/punches blow my mind. Strickland landed almost double the strikes and significant strikes in this fight.

Was close because of take downs and moving forward but damage overall Strickland all day. It was just the jab and punch tho. No tale downs and no kicks. So decion went to the challenger. If he can beat izzy then he would be a champ.

A scoring system where a takedown that somebody stands up from 5 seconds later is somehow equal to like 50 kicks/punches blow my mind. Strickland landed almost double the strikes and significant strikes in this fight.

It was like 140 to 110 significant strikes but Strickland was taken down 6 times. Just let em run it back.
Yeah he won a round with 2 take down and 20 sec control and strickland had 20 significant strike advantage. But these ar3 the scoring rules. I blame the rules not the players.

I saw approx 1000 fights and never counted one point, just looked at fatigue and damage
@OfflineMafia ya I've seen millions of fights and maybe 5 to 6 years ago for ufc you had to really beat the champion to take the belt. Strikes you could give to Strickland all day. Was close because of take downs and moving forward but damage overall Strickland all day. It was just the jab and punch tho. No tale downs and no kicks. So decion went to the challenger. If he can beat izzy then he would be a champ.
