After watching Strickland kick Izzy’s ass you have to come back and just appreciate how fucking good Alex really is, but congrats to the new champ Sean Strickland!!!
Fighting is also a lot about mental warfare and fortitude. Alex is the type of fighter who is genuinely fortified, like Khabib. He will be all focused and all in at almost every fight scenario. Izzy and Sean are like the vast majority of fighters, which are more emotionally driven and actively engaging into outward mental warfare for a fight. Izzy is still levels above Sean technically and mentally, probably indeed the best striker to ever step into the octagon, and another fight night between them can and probably will go completely different. Sean had great emotional motivation to beat Izzy, while against Alex he was mainly scared. If he finds his emotional motivation to beat Alex, he can do it if they fight again.

@@umairriaz8624 yeah I was saying that after seeing how bad Pereira's grappling was in the Izzy fight Strickland must have been upset for not trying grappling at all in his fight
He got slept because of the pain of the calf kicks, he was so preoccupied on checking them that the moment he lifted that checked leg he was off balance and hand his guard on his right hand down to brace for the kick, that the devastating left dropped him, literally a wide open strike drop, gravity did the rest.
his guard on the right hand was down because alex kept jabbing him in the boddy and chest with it. So he thought he could parry the punch to the chest but he went around with a looping hook. You can see alex back stage demonstrate it after he won. Nothing to do with the kick lol
He definitely refined this same style a ton in comparison to the Izzy fight. He’s less reactionary to feints now, defends leg kicks much better as well, and cuts the cage more efficiently, in here, he was only chasing Pereira, not pressuring efficiently. Pereira was chewing up his leg badly here.
Pereira moves in a different way than Adesanya does. He's a harder guy to be pressed against the cage because of that and because he's more offensive too. Adesanya is more of a counter than Alex is.
Plus, despite Izzy being a more talented striker overall, Alex is a little bit better than him in the boxing range. So.. I think that all of this was the difference for the different outcome of the two fights. I think it has more to do with Alex and Adesanya styles than with Sean Strickland.

@Martial Arts Chanel
Who’s here after Sean beat Izzy. Pereira on top
Imagine Alex comes back down to take the belt from Sean 😂
He said he now changed the plan coming to MW. If Izzy get the belt back you can bet he will come to MW😂
@@cricketcavalry1824 😂
@@cricketcavalry1824 He will come back to MW if he wins LHW title. He ain't missing a chance for that double champ status lol, but yea we all know he would rather KO Izzy than anyone else in MW for that belt :D
@@MojKanal-cz1izif kamzat wins the belt Alex might even train Izzy to beat him only to get the MW back off him again😂
@@cricketcavalry1824The only objective in Alex Pereira whole MMA career is simply stalk Israel Adesanya lol
I came back to see Strickland sent to the ghost realm. Beautiful execution
Poatan is amazing, Is impressive like he evolve during the years, When knockout Adesanya was a beginner but today he is a dangerous striker
dude is an absolute monster, i can't wait to see what his future holds at 205.
Lol when Pereira faced Izzy he was above 205. I mean I get it when I was under 170. the only sparring partners that could keep up where at least 20lbs bigger but man once u hit that 185/195, whole other world.
@@krynagosk Pereira is clearly more skilled than Izzy. Izzy throwing punches and jabs too slow and clumsily. Just like doesn't anything worked with Sean
We'll see, Alex got the hype but a single close decision win over Jan. Jiri got 13 fight finish streak. 10 years ago Jiri got his first MMA tittle- at 205, moved to Japan got second title - in Rizin -. moved to UFC, got another mma title, all in 205. Alex left hook better be as good as advertised. Jiris chin is real
champion
And newwww
Who's here after the Adesanya fight?
Look at Stricklands eyes right when the left hook follows through. He's seeing spirits in the sky 😮😂
After izzy fight this win makes Pereira even more impressive
i had to come back and watch this, Sean fought the exact same way, the only difference was that Alex wasn't moving all the way to the cage and was going to the body, Sean wasn't giving Alex space and Alex wasn't giving Sean space either,. these are the things izzy needs to do in the rematch.
Sean's more defensively sound now.
Here after Sean is the champ 🤦🏽♂️
0:51 Signs of elite talent from Sean. Checking Pereira's legendary hidden leg kicks with the rear leg like a weirdo. Raised the leg before Pereira even kicked.
Nope everytime he threw that kick he dropped his defense alex read that and knocked him out
@@DineroA1 It's the body jab feint that got the reaction for the KO, not the kick lmao.
after seeing izzy get dominated by strickland... can't see izzy winning if he fights alex again. only reason izzy even won the 2nd time is cuz alex got too comfortable and dropped his guard
Sean has to be kicking himself for not trying to grapple after seeing Izzy be able to hold Pereira on the mat for a round
i think pereira fought izzy right after this fight not before
@@umairriaz8624 yeah I was saying that after seeing how bad Pereira's grappling was in the Izzy fight Strickland must have been upset for not trying grappling at all in his fight
he was too cocky thinking he was able to strike with a kickboxing champion
Just watched this to make me feel better about the Izzy loss lmao😆

Sean's 'Oh no' meme runs through my head each time I watch this fight 😂
He got caught and he knows it. The look on his face says it all. Shawn looked a little too comfortable in there never underestimate your opponent.

had to come back to this after strickland won the belt lol
Sean strickland: i got his timing down this is gonna be an easy fight
Pereira: throws left hook*
Dint aged well for him
Lol
A year later he dominates adesanya, Strickland is different
Perhaps if Israel had a nuclear left hook option he wouldn’t have been walked down so easily by gigachad strickland
This exactly how Sean looked against Izzy. Sean was checkingAlex’s kicks and moving forward. The difference is Poatan’s power.
And the defense stance from ICarly to Philly Shell.
Izzy would’ve lost to this version of Sean as well.
Who’s here after Sean won the title 😂
The fact that he landed those two punches while strickland was falling is even more insane than the knockdown himself
Who’s here after Sean beat Izzy ass ? 😂😂😂
He so fast that you missed that he hit him 3 times. So patient with the second hit and then the 3rd comes so fast and still connects pretty good. 3:47
Legendary Alex poatan Pereira and this fight made Sean Strickland people's champion
@Stif House

Who else is here after strickland beat Izzy 😅
Sean was so sad after the fight, now he is champs, lets go man!!!
2:40 anyone else notice how perriera pretends to be tired after that kick baiting sean into overstepping forward?
Izzy's weakness seems to be decent boxing and checking kicks.
Becausd pereira don't allow him to put pressure on him with body jab
Pereira moves in a different way than Adesanya does. He's a harder guy to be pressed against the cage because of that and because he's more offensive too. Adesanya is more of a counter than Alex is.
Plus, despite Izzy being a more talented striker overall, Alex is a little bit better than him in the boxing range. So.. I think that all of this was the difference for the different outcome of the two fights. I think it has more to do with Alex and Adesanya styles than with Sean Strickland.
@@moiseslevi7880 And peireira has deadly weapons : his left hook. Real ko power.
