  • The SSL Channel Strip lets you select between two of SSL's most iconic console EQ sections: the E-Series and G-Series. The E-Series EQ has an aggressive bite perfect for bringing out the crack of a snare or adding intelligibility to the drum sound, which one is showed in this video.

This loop might not be the strongest source material, but it helped show that CLA has sold his soul!

The best ones are Native SSL channel strip 2, UAD SSL 4000 E channel strip (Which isn't on the list), Waves EV2. I work with all of them and I have to say that sometimes the UAD works better and sometimes the Native, they have different flavours because they're emulating different SSL boards

I never used UAD plugins tbh, but maybe will try them in the future, seems they selling now with subscription, and their gear is not required for that already.

@@MixMasterHub Yes they're making a lot of their plugins (that isn't unison driven by their hardware) available for non UAD hardware users which is great!

Makes me want to upgrade my waves e channel to v2 between that and ssl native 2 I think those won

guys what do you think about ssl native channel strip 1 compared to 2 ?

    • @bradylasserre9320

Both sound great. The v2 typically sounds more aggressive and "analog" to my ears. The v1 is great but more mellowed out in effect. Both amazing.

Does the ssl native only have the 9000 emulation or do they have the 4000 as well?

The "E" button switches the eq to a 4000E type console. It's double the value.

In this case I think T Racks wins....didnt know they had such a good channel strip....

T-racks are making very good plugins, this one is not comfortable to use, you can not input you desired exact values by typing, compared to the others. I love the T-Racks: White 2A, which is replica of La-2A compressor, as well as their 1176 compressor.

@@MixMasterHub I'm able to type in values by first left clicking them, then enter value. Tested in the latest TR5 VST2/VST3 versions.

Yeah, I'm surprised by the sound of the snare - punch and fat, yet dynamic.

I'm surprised by the sound of the snare on T-Racks - punchy and fat, yet dynamic. The Original SSL Native comes second for that particular loop.

Actually, T-racks have something interesting in the sound, I use their La-2A and 1176 type of compressors for every mix, they sound kind of different.
