Great video and thank you for posting! I live in Pensacola fl, near the water. my crawl space has some moisture issue. showing 19.5 to 23 percent moisture in my subfloor deping on area of the house and i have no duct work under my house. I am wanting to add so temp fans to move the air and dry out the floors. if i dont have duct under the house, do you see any concerns moving air during the summer months? My plan is to Spray foam ( closed cell ) under my house. Thoughts?
Having a dehumidifier will have the humidity regulated. if you don't have one but move air around in the crawl space you could be just pushing humid air around.
Hi Michael - I have a main crawl space that I can access, with about 18-24 inches or so of clearance between the joists and the soil. There was an addition added that has a crawl space that adjoins the aforementioned accessible portion, but is only 6 - 12 inches or so from the joists to the soil. I can see into this lower crawl space from the main crawl space, I just can't squeeze under there. The accessible portion is not high humidity, but I fear the inaccessible addition is higher humidity, because I have had some white mold on shoes in the closet above that crawlspace, and that room is starting to smell a little musty. Would moving the drier main crawl space air into the inaccessible crawl space with a fan do any good? Love all your videos! Frank
will you be doing a video on ELECTRICAL systems? I'm trying to do a DIY dehumidifier for my crawl space and finding out there's no electrical outlets in the crawl space except for the HVAC units! will I need an electrician to pull a NEW circuit? I'm afraid to overload an existing circuit by pig-tailing off it. thanks
Hi Michael, have you ever heard of a vent fan catching fire? Just curious as it may be rare but obviously a little scary to put in a crawl space. I already have a dehumidifier but doing this for Radon ventilation, Thanks and always enjoy the content!
Hi I have a quick question your video says air duct making more moisture but what if I have no air ducts in my crawl space. Could I still just use a fan to ventilate my crawl space?
Kirtsouci - Michael actually wrote an article on this very subject. We appreciate you watching and hope you have a happy and blessed day: crawlspaceninja.com/faq/seal-crawl-space-vent-install-fan/
Awesome insight, for those that wonder about how to best address humidity in the crawl space
Thanks Richard!

We always have an electrician out to install dedicated outlets for the dehumidifier and sump pump when doing our encapsulations. Hope this helps!
