Morning Tuula , the bells sound lovely , I’ve just made a scrappy scarf ,like yours but I knitted mine, I will try the tassel on the ends thankyou x enjoy your day
Me ha gustado muchísimo la idea!!! Lo primero que se me ocurre es una bufanda o haciéndolos más pequeños, una manta para sofá ❤❤❤❤ Muchas gracias por el tutorial. Abrazo desde España ❤❤❤❤❤
😂THANK YOU so much! I'm just finishing a shall and I was thinking it needed a fringe on it, but I kinda hate doing those! But, I love the look & the technique of doing this fringe! Thank you again. And I love your videos❤
WOW! Love this tip. Thank you for posting. I'm knitting a scarf that has fringe on both ends. This will be so much easier than wrapping yarn on a cardboard template for cutting multiple strips then putting several together before folding to loop through the bottom edge. This will avoid the strands from tangling.
I don't usually put fringes on things because I fiddle with them and end up plaiting them and generally making a mess of them 😂 I have unintentionally used this method many times when I've been twirling the fringes of other things, but never anchored it. The technique you've shown looks good. I can see it being used on the edge of socks (even knit socks) or boot cuffs, or even on a basket. I think it would look nice on a top, especially if there was a dangly bead attached as well.
love this fun thing to do, you can even go back with another color and make a second round of another length or different length. I actually bought a yarn twister machine to make rope for a project. I think you can make a whole bunch of them in various weights and then twist those together for a handbag handle or shopping bag handle. I crocheted a keychain for my car remote and then chained loops to attach house keys and shopper cards for some stores but this would be a more durable way to do. Pretty exciting possibilities! Thanx so much for your passionate and meticulous channel, you have enriched my crochet life, newbie as it is, so much!
Oh wow, thank you so much, I thought it may be harder but you explain it so well, I’m making a blanket for my middle son for across the end of his bed, I will use this way of tassels. Thank you, from Western Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🧶🧶🧶💕💕😂🥰 (I’ve got Irish heritage & would love to visit one day, & Norway, etc)
This is the 1st time I've seen this fringe. 😎. Thx for sharing! BTW, lovely 👚 blouse. Ireland is beautiful where you are. Appreciate seeing the beautiful scenery😍.
Thank you! 😃 I fell in love with this top, it is actually fairly long. Saw many like it in a store in Warsaw, Poland. I will try to make at least one other video outside in Ireland while I'm here!
Christmas ornaments -such as your twists/spirals would be interesting for a sort of fringe bottom decoration I think 🤓. Thank you for this! I've also seen it on scarves but hadn't yet learned how to make it. Very simple 😊
This is perfect - I am not a fan of fringes that are just made from the “plain” yarn as the yarn tends unwind/get frizzy. I might ad this to a project I just finished 👀
Thank you so much Tuula. I have been making scarves to sell recently so will start using this fringe for something different. Your tutorials are so easy to follow, so I have need learning a lot from you. But going back to this twisted fringe, I noticed that at both the beginning and at the end, there is a space. Is there something we can do to fill those gaps please.
Glad it was helpful! Yes, you can start and finish right at the first stitch, I left the first one undone by doing a slip stitch there to create a bit of room.
@@TuulaMaaria Wouldn't it be a trouble feeding the beads first? When twisting the fringe only one yarn would penetrate the bead and the other could create an extra boucle. My suggestion is to feed a bead in a measured fringe yarn and twist it with the bead, grab it like you do under the little finger and do the single crochet. The bead might even help straightening the fringe out.
@@user-bj1dq7zh4o Yes, could definitely do it that way too. I was thinking of the general way of bead crochet where you feed the beads first. Would probably depend on the type of yarn too.
FABULOUS!! Thank you so very much! I’m a new Subscriber from the USA. Wonderful videos! I noticed that you mentioned you also knit. Do you have any knitting videos? I self taught myself crochet about 15 years ago but would love to learn knitting and I’m struggling terribly.
Thank you for subscribing! I have some knitting videos, all on this playlist ua-cam.com/play/PL7vcNpUtI_RZ4nY96wE0qwHVZtRDt5Cd3.html The one about knitting a dishcloth shows the very basics. I knit and crochet about equally much but little by little ended up doing only crochet for this channel!
I just thought of doing this on the edges of a doily with lace thread. I wonder how that would look? I'm going to have to try it! Is there a way that I can send a picture of the final result to you?
Sounds lovely! Would be great to see it! If you use Instagram, you could tag me in a photo, @ tuulamaaria, or use the email address on the About page of this channel. Unfortunately not possible to post photos on UA-cam.

Lovely to hear! 💙
I’ve never seen this type of fringe! It’s lovely! Thank you for showing us how to make it. And also for a glimpse of the lush Irish countryside.
Glad you enjoyed it! 💗🍀
Lol really thinking outside the box here. The bottom of the back and sides of a beanie. It would be like a crazy hair or wig thing.
Cute!
Sounds like a great idea for a boho style!

You could do this fringe on the edge of knitted projects too! Why didn't I know about this before now? Thanks my friend in crochet!
Yes, works equally well on knitting and crochet! 😊
You did it again…taught me something new…you’re so great…thank you ❤

Love it. Got to try it. Thanks for the tutorial.

I'm picturing this as a 1920s style fringed dress, maybe with a sparkly thread! 😄💃
Or you could add sequins or beads.
Sounds great, a wonderful idea!
Kiitos, Tuula, I can't wait to give this a try.
Hope you enjoy!

Car blanket i think 🤔 thanks so much you are the best 👌 xx

Thank you for simplifying this fringe method for us. I am planning on using it on the ends of a table runner.
You are so welcome! A great idea for table runners!

Thank you Tuzla What a great idea. It reminds me of a twisted cord that I make for different things. Great video. Enjoy your time in Ireland. ❤
Thank you! 😊 Yes, we were making twisted cords already at primary school!
Might be able to use it as hair in Amigurumi
Oh yes, wouldn't have thought of that!

There are things I want to put fringe on but I don’t like the plain yarn. This is awesome! I will try it for gnome beard too
A gnome beard is an amazing idea!
Easy to learn; difficult to master.
It goes amazingly fast to feel very comfortable doing it!
Thank you. I'm not into fringes but I could "cope" with this style fringe as it has a bit more "body".
