OUTSTANDING series! My wife and I are HOOKED! Romance, Adventure, Passion, Love, Guilt, Trust, Betrayal, Scotland! We can NOT wait until Season 3 and may all romances live such strong passions!
I loved hearing him talk about how they did Jamie and Claire's goodbye scene. I thought that was so perfectly done-it was emotional and felt natural, not stilted or awkward at all. So I love knowing that they really did just relax and do it without pressure, because it really did turn out SO splendidly. This entire show is so well done!
while watching this the quote "your impossible not to like" from Lord John Grey comes to mind. Sam draws you in & you can't help but get lost in whenever he talks about, his fav scenes, usually the ones w Cat. They're performances are amazing together. Absolutely love this show!
The writing, acting, and musical score for this show are just so fantastic. Definitely my favorite show at the moment. The only downside is it doesn't have more episodes.
Some really great moments. Murtagh captured my heart with his loyalty and unconditional love of Jaimie. Stellar performances during the last moments with Dougal. He nailed it. And the "waltz to the stones". I know Murtagh doesn't make it in the books, but perhaps the TV series peeps will have pity on those of us who think he is BADASS and bring him back. They've not followed the books exactly all season, so why not bring him back? sigh Season two brought smiles and a laugh or two and buckets of tears
I did prefer parts of the show ending over the books, particularly the part where Jamie holds on to Claire and walks her in his arms, toward the stones. Poetic. Still, it was hard to see with tissues drying my eyes!!
Me too, my husband was worried neighbors would be wondering why was I crying so loud. LOL, I read the books, but seeing the beautifully performed scenes...breathtaking! Did you guys see the tears in Jamie's eyes while touching the stone with Claire?
Sam is so different as Jamie. It shows what a superb actor he is. I'm so pleased I didn't discover Outlander until the summer as I was able to binge-watch S1 and S2 just before S3 started. I feel for those who had to wait nine months after the finale of S2. I only had to wait a few weeks.
I can't imagine how people survived till the 3rd season after sending Claire to the XXth c! I am so lucky I've watched 3 seasons at once. And I am really grateful tp the show that C and S stayed in the same geo and time location in the end or it would be a torture.
Compared to anything else, not that we need to, this show is in the category by itself. Sam and Caitriona are both amazingly capable and gifted actors, and I will be looking forward to enjoy the show for as many seasons they are willing to do. If you are familiar with Diana Gabaldon's books, that might be for quite a while.
I adored the books so many years ago, now I absolutely adore and the show Outlander. Both Jamie and Claire are portrayed exactly how I envisioned them. Great work by all!!
Outlander i like very much sometimes it seems as if jamie speaks welsh like was the real james Fraser a welshman ? And Charles stuart with his mark me love that one he seems so childishat times but ofcoarse he isnt sam i hope to see you some time just want to talk to you if not have a happy time love Mavis anne
I love the show but it is number 2 in my book. And seriously after season 2 I have been watching repeat episodes of Outlander several times a week over and over it's a little tough watching the finale over and over between me crying and then plugging my ears when Bree talks.I watch it on On Demand Comcast. But I gotta go with GOT #1. Oh I love the blooper reels of Outlande too. Caitriona is a crack up when she makes a mistake and of course Sam will always be the King of Men!!
Was very pleased with the entire episode and the new actors as well....they will seed in it all new ..just my opinion...and will leave it to the Outlander presenters to bring it forward...will miss the cast members that will not be returning....have totally enjoyed this series and look forward to the coming season....
I am so excited. Outlander is the first book, show to simply captivate my heart. I am so excited to be here with all of you, earnestly waiting for season three. I have remarkably JUST found this series. I know! Do not tease me mercilessly!! I am running to grab the Voyager to read, as I canNOT wait until Sept 10!
Amo esta serie... me llena de emoción. Excelentes actuaciones, excelente historia, la quimica de los personajes es inigualable y la fotografía es increíble y realmente sientes que ves el pasado... es la mejor serie que he visto en mi vida. 😍😍😍
So sad Outlander season 2 is over and I'm so disappointed once again The Emmy has left Sam off the nomination list, love to know why? also Caitriona and Tobias.
Why would Claire want to avoid or change the outcome of Culloden? It was an important historical battle in British history. The Jacobite Rebellion wasn’t just about Scottish freedom but overthrowing the English monarchy & replacing the king with a Catholic Stuart rival. The English had a standing professional army & each soldier with a musket/bayonet. The Scots were most irregular militia with little military training or experience and many without firearms. There was no promised aid from France. The Jacobite Rebellion had no realistic chance to succeed.
i just watched the last episode of season 2 and i couldn't see anything because i cried ao hard 😂 and i think i woke up the whole neighbourhood... man that was just beautiful...
I don't believe the show could get a better actor than Sam. Whew. He might have been snatched up for Game of Thrones, then he might not have been available... or a problem with credibility as Jamie. Jamie is in a class apart from other characters. So glad he's not tarnished from older shows but altogether new to us. Yay.
The finale was so great.....It's a love hate relationship between me and Outlander.....I hate the way you end episodes but love the next......SO GLAD to hear the announcement that there will be a 3rd and 4th Season.....
oh I don't want to read the last one. DG has gone on record saying that we the fans will be crying, and to me that means she's written our beloved characters death. I do not want to see/hear/read that. As far as I'm concerned the last book's ending was perfect. Our characters were all together again, and while I know that all living things die, I would prefer to think of them as they are at the end of that book. It will be enough.
Claire looked like Mrs Peel. This program has changed the way the world sees Scotland. Now we all want a free Scotland. Diana Gabaldon forgot that the first rising was in 1689 with Bonny Dundee.
+CarbonFour OxygenTwo yes it is . he's change hand plaster and my son is a labourer on the show. I'm so proud of the work they on the set's. there so beautiful x
Having read the books, I knew what was to come. So, I both wanted to see the finale and dreaded it's coming because that means I will now have to wait several months before I see those 2 amazing actors continue with Voyager's story. What to do in the mean time!!!
One of the best episodes of any show that I've ever seen. Well paced with really three different story lines happening with 1968 Clair, her daughter Brianna and the events of 1745. And none it got tedious. It steadily moved from one to the next keeping it fresh and exciting. In the process giving us emotions, excitement and slowly revealing information on what happened then and since without revealing too much. It was an hour and a half long and it was so good I could have sat through three hours of it. The only negative to the entire episode was what I could only describe as a "quickie" at the stones before Claire returned to her time. I had heard an interview with the author where she said they reduced the sex scenes after the first season because she wants the sex scenes to be organic and natural to the story line. This did not appear to be so at hat time. It seemed with everything that was going on it was a bit forced and out of place. This episode is listed as having a run time of one hour and thirty minutes. The other one hour and twenty five minutes were great but the five second quickie seemed forced.
I can't watch the episode. That part of DIA makes me crumble into a sobbing puddle of mush every time I read it. Just this made me tear up. I can't imagine watching it happen onscreen with these actors who have so come to embody the characters for me.
I wonder since we saw Claire specifically keep Jaime's fathers ring in episode one after she gave everything else to Frank if that is what Brianna brings with her rather than the pearl necklace? I mean in the books the pearl necklace was a bit more unique looking so it was quite identifiable but we never saw her bring those back with her and hold onto them, but we did see the ring?
well, you saw the ring he gave her with the stone intact. when she arrives back in the 20th century, she finds the ring, but the stone is non existent. That's a fact you need to remember for the future - NO MORE SPOILERS!!
+imiss toronto I'm trying to wrack my brain about this significant of the Ring I'm trying to think did I read it in the books but nothing comes to mind please tell me what it is lol
So they didn't change the outcome of the battle of Culloden moor. Makes you think they went through all that pain and misery just see everyone die, except for Jamie hmm? Brings you to the conclusion or asking yourself why in the heck did Claire not just return through the stones the first time. Maybe Jamie wouldn't have lost his manhood in prison, Angus bleeding to death eternally, Rupert losing an eye, Dougal dying at the hands of his own kin or Geillis being burned at the stake. Mark me still one of the best shows though bravo!
the part with Dougal gave me a different perceptive. I thought he looked like he was going mad with everything he lost( Lollybrock, Claire?, to someone younger, his brother,)
Perfect endings to 2 perfect seasons. Heartbreaking to say goodbye to great cast members Dougal and young Fergus (hopefully not Murtagh). Can't wait for Voyager and your portrayal of Jamie's trials and triumphs! Looking forward to Print shop scene, meeting wee Ian, Governors' Ball, Marsali and Fergus' wedding on the beach. Harr matey! sea voyages and tropical locations will be a nice contrast to Scotland's magnificent scenery. It will be wonderful to see the publicity on locations, set design, costumes, and new cast members over the next few months! Thanks so much for this amazing, complex adventure/romance story!
yo quiero ver el final capitulo de la segunda tempora no la pude ver y adoro esta serie un dia obtendre tener el libro de mi serie faborita..linda historia.
SPOILERS: I just dont understand this ending. Why Claire wants to go back in time knowing Jamie has survived? She lived 20 years without him, accepting his death. She wants to go back in time 20 years after this battle or before her doughter was born? If after then Jamie could finds someone else by this time and if before her doughter will never exist in present world.
Sabakinno because he was the love of her life. She didn't want to return to her time. She could not forgot him. So, when she knows that he survived the battle, she want's to return where she belongs which is: him. (Sorry, english is not my mother tongue)
Good God they have a love that practically no one gets to have!!! Come on now!! I'd go in a hot minute. Wait til you see just how talented she gets living on Frasers Ridge she can can vegetables and plant things and on and on!!! (I am being a little sarcastic because it's way too much but their reunion is awesome. Think about it after 20 years she just rolls in the print shop) I am now on the fifth book BUT I can tell you this I'm NOT liking all the New World stuff with Indians and Voodoo and ship wrecks, and silkies etc etc etc. I like the first three books. DG just throws way too much in the rest of the books. Man!!!! Jaime's lost in the snow on Fraser's ridge and Claire saves him THEN Claire gets lost in the snow and Jaime saves HER....and then Ian joins an indian tribe and they burn a priest. WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOA DG!!! I'm just sayin'
@@muffin6369LMAO......well thank god I have seen all of what you posted after it was aired. They did a good job now we have to wait for season 5, But I can't wait for the finale of season 4 in 2 days hopefully at midnight Sunday morning since they been screwing the time up these last 2 episodes with the time airing. Curious to know where they are going to stop, Sam claims this finale is going to be epic
No, Sam, the draw is the relationship between Claire and Jamie. That's why this show had such a large and loyal fan base before a single episode ever aired. J&C are both strong and unique characters, and their relationship should ALWAYS be at the heart of this series. That's why fans keep following these books, and if the show doesn't slight their relationship (like it did much of this season), it should also keep fans watching the series. This finale was beautiful, but it was also a lot of "telling" us about an epic love that we should have been "seeing" the rest of the season. It was great to hear so many of DG's words at the stones, but a shame they were crammed into such a small space of time. J&C deserved more - and so did fans.
omg this is such a wonderful exciting sexy perfect story to where u just don't want it to stop, u want more of it and sit there all day n night just waiting for the next one to come out. thank u for such an awesome loving romantic story. please bring more
The actress they hired to play Bree is so wooden and her American accent so strange that I immediately googled her to find out what famous or powerful person she must be related to. Apparently she has no famous relatives that I can find, so this is just a case of bad casting. I hope they replace her like they did with Daario on Game of Thrones.
She is actually British. I mean why would you cast a British person to play an american character. There would be millions of American girls who could do a better job than her plus the accent would be authentic atleast. Bree is a major character. Outlander is almost always spot on with their casting. Bree is a glitch. Lets see how she turn out in the coming seasons.Although you also gotta agree that Brianna is a tough character to play. She isn't very likeable,
AKAweeklygirl I normally hate replacements too, but in some cases it is very necessary. The GOT example I used worked really well on the show. Sophie Skelton just isn't on the same level as the other actors on this show. At times it was like she was reading off of a cue card. She brought down the scenes she was in and looked like a fool opposite Catriona Balfe.
ritika sehgal Yeah I know Brianna isn't very likeable, but theres a way to add charisma to a character like that. Have you ever watched Gilmore Girls? Paris Gellar is an awful person but the actress who plays her makes her super compelling. And I read some comments elsewhere saying that they chose a British actress because of tax reasons, something like they have to employ a certain number of Brits to qualify. But still, they could have gotten an unknown who just graduated from RADA or LAMDA or something...
I agree, I thought Bree was incredibly weak for such an awesome team of actors. Wooden and off tempo. But the finale was well paced (and didn't leave us too emotionally traumatized while waiting another 9 months!)
You are saying Claire is weak and Caitriona is not the right actress. Perhaps you should pry your head out of your rectum and watch the show. She IS the show!!
I'm a little late to the party, but thank you for such a piece, Variety. Sam can hypnotize the audience but press outlets rarely use it at all, nevermind to its maximum. This is a great example of what Sam's press appearances could and should be like because there's nothing else needed really, just him and the camera. And good editing :)
Sam spoke so articulately and with such emotion right under the surface. The camera tight on his face was perfect. I could look at him forever.

WHEN IS NEXT SEASON?!?!?
Bruh! So glad I found this 😆
love Outlander !!
Love this show!

Is Sam wearing colored lenses in the eyes? And bluish shadow?
Sam is actually willing to get fat? Noooo. Neither for his character or his own body. Nope. And the withdrawal symptoms begin.
I'm at a loss now season ended
OMG I FUCKING LOVE THIS SERIES!!
Phwa this man 🤗
love the show
no I know nothing about jet books.👌👌😊😊
Okay but WHAT IS SAM'S SKINCARE ROUTINE?!
Why did he say the future scenes were in the 50's?
he was speaking of Claire...she's in her 50's in 1968
Yeah sometimes they forget but it was the 60's
No, you heard wrong. Claire is in her 50's. The were not talking about what year IT was, but what year claire was.
I see, thanks for clearing that up guys
I'm so inlove with this show
Mark me: I cried like a BITCH when they talk on the fucking stones. You wanted to hated Jaime but you cant...Love is freaking HARD LOL
very good
During this recap he says “We woke up in the morning very early and realized there had been snow overnight.” Who is “we,” Mr. Heughan??? 😍😜😍
I took that to mean all of the cast and crew at the location.
possibly, possibly not
Sam, do not get fat it's too hard to lose it!

You'd be fighting over him. lol
You'd be fighting over him. lol
The actress they hired to play Bree is so wooden and her American accent so strange that I immediately googled her to find out what famous or powerful person she must be related to.
Apparently she has no famous relatives that I can find, so this is just a case of bad casting. I hope they replace her like they did with Daario on Game of Thrones.
noooooo, i hate replacements after they got intruduced!!! shes ok let her be ;-)
She is actually British.
But the finale was well paced (and didn't leave us too emotionally traumatized while waiting another 9 months!)
bitter sweet
No entiendo nada de lo dice pero igual lo veo,
I want Sam real hair back, I don't care for the wigs at all. They look like wigs, bad wigs
españl xfa
OMG 😚
I am just finishing the books...this man is interesting...but the large mole on his cheek bugs me! lol

I do not like the actress portraying the daughter! what a poor actress!
Gay
I can't take to Caitriona Balfe as Claire - she's far too weak and not the character Gabaldon wrote at all.
Yet Diana approved. I didn't think of her build so very light.
You are saying Claire is weak and Caitriona is not the right actress. Perhaps you should pry your head out of your rectum and watch the show. She IS the show!!
she doing a great job i think your insane she to me is the best wife jamie could of pick she what making the show
I'm a little late to the party, but thank you for such a piece, Variety. Sam can hypnotize the audience but press outlets rarely use it at all, nevermind to its maximum. This is a great example of what Sam's press appearances could and should be like because there's nothing else needed really, just him and the camera. And good editing :)
