      When you haven’t bested the first boss you might run out of things to fight, thus you are stuck

    GREAT guide. Thanks so much for sharing. I might suggest that the first (maybe even first two?) ichor be used to unlock ring slots for an immediate return on character power. Inventory is very important, but to see an immediate improvement in character power, adding rings is a great way to go.

    One tip I would suggest, if you've freed Fillmore (the blacksmith) he spawns right at the whisper before the boss. Now, before you beat the boss, the blacksmith will repair your gear for free, until you beat warnick. You can use this time to learn the boss' attacks and moves without your gear breaking, or spending all your money. You won't have unlimited healing, so be careful with those food items. I would suggest learning the fight without food, until you are confident in yourself. If all else fails, make another realm to gather food resources and try again!

    Some extra tips from someone you didn’t ask for (me)!!!
    First, playing this game dodge only is really putting yourself at a disadvantage. This is obvious. If you are someone who struggles with parrying then the best thing you can do is to practice parry. I mean only parry. Dodging in this practice is fine, but do not attack. Keep dying, keep practicing. This will obviously help you learn to parry, but it will also really open your eyes to attack windows, and attack timing from enemies. Understanding enemy mechanics is difficult if you are always dodging and attacking. It just feels like mayhem. So sit back, get comfortable with dying a bunch, and learn to anticipate enemy attack and windows. You’ll learn which attacks to dodge and which to parry.
    For example, the first bosses “stab” attacks are extremely easy to parry. His swipe attacks are very difficult to parry. This is actually true of most mobs in the game, including echo night. During Echo’s first phase he rears up on his mount and slams down. This is often, if not almost always, followed up by a stab attack. His second phase has a long range stab attack. This is EXTREMELY easy to parry.
    Second, take a deep breath and remember it’s a slow game. Sometimes I get it in my head that I should be killing faster or attacking more. This is a fools thought. Windows do not last long. Don’t overreach with your attack windows. Get your hits in, or throw off a rune attack, almost never try both.
    Third tip is sort of related to the end of Ginger’s vid. Mental health y’all. It’s necessary. I struggle with anger and anxiety and I can safely say that past a certain point of mental frustration, my play rapidly declines until I’m completely incapable of killing anything because I’m not playing smart anymore. Leave the game, take a nap, watch some tv, eat some food, go for a walk. Anything to clear your mind. When you return you can approach it with a fresh mind and almost always you will have greater success.
    In my opinion the first tip is the best one. Only equip a shield and just see how long you can live, and how many parries you get in that time. Then try to beat your record! Keep doing this and eventually you’ll find yourself living so long that it’s boring. This is the “cha-ching” money moment. Time to go kill some baddies!

      @@zorastin Thanks!! I’m glad it seemed to help you :)

    • @DirtRabbit
      @DirtRabbit Місяць тому +1

      @@zorastin Getting a parry off can also create a nice window for getting a good heal in without fear of being countered. I often will intentionally dodge until a good parry attack comes up so I can get a heal off. This is especially true for bosses with gap closers or reach attacks.
      Getting better at parrying will also make you better at dodging. Dodges are still based on frames so just dodging half-hazardly will often be ineffective. Dodges have a longer I-frame but it’s still timing based.

    Wow. I'm new to souls like combat and I'm tanking (as in failing miserably), I did get to boss number one but I got frustrated and gave up for like a month , came back too late and was even more stuck , knowing I can go back and start over with the same character is monumental, I love games but ..I'm bad at them lol

    Second: use your rune att asap, save stamina to roll out

    My problem with Echo Knight, the only boss I haven't beaten yet, is he won't shut up. I keep dodging and wonder when I can play the game. I notice this is an issue with a lot of Souls game bosses. I made a mage recently and abandoned my archer because I can't find a strong enough bow and I'm maxed out with her and don't chunk him for enough damage and he outlasts my heals so hopefully a mage will be better. If they would just have some of these bosses shut up for a moment and allow players to play the game it would be nice. Also, where can I get Stamina like these bosses? Why can't I infinitely attack without tiring like them? Can I have what they're high on please? As always in souls games it's always, "Rules for thee but not for me." and so no infinite attacking for players.

    • @Monkeesh
      @Monkeesh Місяць тому

      dont use all stamina on attacks, use rune attacks is always better, roll towards/sides boss is often better. also 2handed weaps I would recommend if no throw on it. I finally beat echo with trusty blood-rusty on electric and focus gain+plate armor (1 focus ring, 2x dmg/armor rings) spamming base run att it has 50focus. upgrade everything youre wearing. I had same problems as you have, gl!

      Nah, tried it. Didn't work. My problem is he won't shut the FK up and puts fire everywhere and just keeps flailing around like an idiot. I hardly get a chance to attack or heal because he won't stop. And when I go to far I can't target him with bow or spells (but he can sure target me).
      I'm just gonna ignore it and wait for more updates and out level him by 20 levels and then go back. He's the most unfun, boring, lame boss I've ever had the displeasure of fighting.
      When you die you have to start all over again and so I'm just like, "FK it, who cares, this is lame". Not worth the time and pain, I DON'T wanna go through all that BS again.
      Christ, what a horrible experience, I may never go there again.

    The game can definitely be tough, but nowhere near Souls tough. The thing about these types of games is that the difficulty settings are hidden in the gear and item combos and in the food and potions. There are weapon and necklace combos and consumables that definitely set the game on easy mode. You can also grind and power-level to overcome tough bosses and areas. Patience, practice and experimentation.

    When I first encounter a new mob in Wicked, I always just sit back and watch their 2 attack patterns first, before even thinking about engaging. Only after seeing their 2 attack patterns do I figure out when to go in for a quick 1-2 combo and dodge out or 1 hit and dodge out, build enough focus to unleash a rune attack and done. Like for Warrick, the first time seeing him, I died like 4x before beating him, but that was me trying to button smash instead of paying attention to his patterns. Now, when I encountered him on my new tune (a faith build with cleric mace) I beat his booty first attempt, and barely ate any food either. Just being relaxed and remembering their attack patterns is a must to manage the combat in this game...well that is until you get so op you can 1 shot everyone, lol.

    No rest is way more challenging than your average ARPG. This may rub people that just want a casual experience without much frustration off the wrong way but it can also feel very rewarding once you beat the boss that killed you 100 times just this afternoon. Bottom line is you can get better if you practice and gear up.
