I can't believe they're still making these. I've had my Pro 510XL since the CB craze days of the late '70s. I bought it soon after CBs went from 23 channels to 40 in 1977, so I got it maybe in 1978 at the latest. I used it on several trips in the late '70s then sometime in the early '80s it went into a box in the basement. A few moves later in 2006 I ran across it and installed it in my RV where it stayed for eleven years until just last week when I sold the RV but kept my radio, which is what prompted me to look them up on the 'net. To my surprise they not only still make the 510, the new ones look exactly the same as my late '70s 510. The only difference is the tag on the back of mine says it was made in the Philippines.
I have one of these installed in my 2014 Jeep JK. Bulletproof reliable. I paired it up with a 4-foot fire stick and I have a range of around five miles or so. Thanks for the presentation
Put a Power Microphone on it & it is a LOUD radio. With a D-104 desk microphone on mine people said it was one of the loudest they had ever heard.Simple & small but kick butt transmit audio.
hey - nice video. Question, if there was a situation where I needed to communicate with someone in an emergency, what's the range of this radio? could someone hear me from 100 miles, another country? I'm genuinely interested...
With a good antenna I'd say a few miles depending on where you are at, basically line of sight, flat terrain will probably push it out a little further
I don't think the audio would come across as an accurate representation of the CB radio if we put it in a video. The range is dependent on the CB antenna paired with the radio
You can operate this in a boat, but its not an incredibly powerful radio. I get about 5 miles of range with it in my truck on a 4.5ft antenna. Simple, reliable, and one of the best bang for your buck transmitter out there
Hey there i found the same radio in the back of my grandad's shop and i hooked it up and it turned on but when i key the mic the light's not do any thing. so do you know if i can ship it some where to get worked on.Thanks
The PRO510XL is a great compact radio that is simple to use and very durable. We hope that you like it! Just be sure to tune your antenna using an SWR meter- you will need to use an external SWR meter since the PRO510XL does not have one built-in. We hope that helps!
We are currently out of stock on these particular in dash mounts - we do have one size left. Go ahead and see if it will fit your radio! www.wearecb.com/in-dash-cb-radio-mount.html

They work well with a good antenna it's a matter of a good antenna
I have a one of these. It's indestructible. Works good and Is cheap..
Is there anything special that you have to do to use a dynamic mic.
Does it have a speaker in it? Or do I have to hook it up to an external speaker?

@nesoone178 i get roughly 4-5 miles out in the desert from my truck with a 4.5ft antenna. Solid radio and amazing for its price.
Is the external speaker plug for PA?
would be nice to hear some transmissions and range ?

can I use this equip in a boat or its use is just for cars in land use? thanks

simple and very good!@@
Can it plug into an outlet?
Not directly. You can connect the radio to a 12 volt power supply and plug the power supply into an outlet, though.
Were you keying the mic without an antenna attached?
There was a load attached to it. No CB radios were harmed in the making of this film. ;)
Im putting this in my big rig is it too small i just wanted to start off simple

Here is a link to the SWR meter that we would recommend: www.wearecb.com/auswr-swr-meter.html
this radio comes with speaker built on ?
We apologize for the delayed response! It does have a speaker on the bottom.
