I have many of these, but I had forgotten about my leather thimble, which my cat made off with about a year ago. I'm constantly trying new kinds of thimbles and have never found one I like. Thanks for the reminder! And I'll try the bobbin winder, too. Very useful video. Thanks.
thank you for this video. I've been sewing for 10 years and I actually never understood why someone would use a bobbin winder when the machine can do it. it exhausting the motor makes sense!
I have not quilted before but I got one beautiful quilt at a thrift store with the drawn design which I have sewn and was looking for a way forward to complete the quilt .I have gotten sn idea from you so I will start off by buying the necessities for it after which l will iearn batting and hopefully move ahead. Thank you.
Seems those hangers are difficult to find... the company used to have room for 6 items...I gave used them for years for hanging pants from the cuffs or waist.
Other than the Quilters cut'n press (must get one) I have and use them all. However the spring loaded scissors I really dislike, they don't work for "me" -hand and wrist problems. However I again (wrist/hand) wouldn't store my bobbins in a tin, I stack them on a longer hook on a small pegboard used for often used tools. I would also add clear storage boxes (I think meant for paper crafts), great for UFOs. Thanks for the time and effort you put into your video. So refreshing to see someone who sticks to basic useful tools.
Love these ideas. Thanks for sharing. Need to look for the bobbin winder, thimble, and the hanger. Great ideas for making quilting even more enjoyable.
I seriously need to get a bobbin winder! I make custom costumes and ballgowns and go through a LOT of bobbins. Seems like no matter how many I pre-wind before I start sewing, I always end up needing more. Regarding the black and orange Fiskar cutter - I am left handed, and I hate that thing. I constantly hit the little orange button that closes it WHILE I'm rolling along trying to cut out fabric. The white Olfa cutter that has the button for opening the blade so it has to slide back and forth, instead of pressing down on it, works much better for me.
I love the bobbin winder too! But I found it wound the bobbins the wrong way for my machine (Pfaff). Pfaff bobbins can only go on the winder one way and unfortunately it is the wrong way. Still looking for a bobbin winder that I can use with Pfaff bobbins.
Bought mine for half price, $12.50 from spotlight, best buy I ever got! But bought a holder for it but wrong size, too short, so not such a bargain after all hahaha!
Silver needle award- you run your finger under your sewing machine needle while guiding fabric through your presser foot. Golden needle award- you have to go to the ER to have your sewing machine needle removed from the bone in your finger.

I have had a bobbin winder for years now. I love it. I load up all the bobbins in my holder at one time then I am good to go. Highly recommend it.
Love that thimble. The leather absorbs perspiration and makes hand sewing, especially in summer, a dream. xoxo from Arizona

Thanks so much for this video! I'm new to quilting and I didn't even know a bobbin winder existed but I definitely want one. Thanks again.

It really is!
Yes!
I really like the bobbin winder and I have to buy one of those along with about 15 extra bobbins to go with my other accessories.
I am more of a crafter going to wheelchair, but I found that These tidbits were extremely helpful for me. Thank you so much.

I Love mine, I do a whole bunch at once in white and a bunch in black so that they are always handy.
I love the last 2
I like slack hangers for hanging fabric on. I have nails all over the room. I know what is do first and pressed nicely.
Very nice. Thank you.♥️
