My grandma was swedish and had the same mushroom for the pins and now I have it and use it such a lot, still in good nick! And each time I use it she pops up in my mind! I have lived in New Zealand for 56 years and can still remember her little swedish lullabyes! Awww!!!
I just started quilting and watching tutorials. I came across Joanna instructing and giving advice on some videos. I've watched A LOT of videos, and I must say, I love watching and learning from Joanna. I wanted to ask if she gives online classes? I really learn a lot from her and enjoy her teaching techniques.
I made a pin cushion out of a small teacup and glued a round magnet on the bottom of the cup I love it it sits just right and my stylus and stiletto sit between the rim and cushion perfectly small scissor and seam ripper also and still the pin cushion is assessed easily love it
Joanna to mark dark fabrics use a gray or silver color it shows up really good. I am not sure if the friction pens come in this color but sharpies pens do . xoxo
Joanna was talking about dropping pins. Due to my disabilities I can't bend down, squatting is hard. Hardware & tool stores sale magnets that telescope with plastic/rubber handles. Think like an antenna on a boom box. They do not cost much. Drop something just extend the magnet, to find, and pick up your dropped pins. I even use mine to pick up my dropped thread nippers. I have one at each sewing machine. They work to pick up the older metal bobbins too.
Kudo's Regina I have same issue can't kneel due to total knee replacement and I just love love love my telescoping with light magnetic floor pin grabber. LOLOL
The first thing that caught my eye is the birdie, then the hedgehog and the strawberries. Is that available or up and coming? I use a magnetic pin holder but I collect pincushions and that mushroom is adorable. I do a lot of hand embroidery and want to try the new Aurifil floss. Love the color themes. Thanks for sharing
+Sandra Davis The mini quilts you are referring to are called Fig and Woolies patterns by Fig Tree. You can find patterns at the following link: www.fatquartershop.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=fig+and+woolies
+Kelley Gregson Hi Kelley - the quilt you are referring to is called Lattice by Fig Tree and you can find the pattern here: www.fatquartershop.com/lattice-quilt-pattern Thanks for watching!
But if u r using the newest thread just to piece the quilt would u not just use the the white or beige or cream thread and use the colors for the quilting. Need a little assistance. I do so love it for my long arm i would not use anything else no problems with my machine smooth and easy. Trying to save $
could someone answer a question for me. i am new at this and trying to teach myself. If i am using invisable thread in my machine does the bobbin also have to be the invisable thread as well. Thank You. Janice Penoyer

Thank you Fat Quarter Shop for the video. This is only one person's list so not necessary "must have tools". Got tired her saying "um" and "Like"-- those are fillers in talking when one is a teenager or when one does not know what to say next, hope she can learn to stop saying it and talk in a little softer tone.

+Janice Penoyer No, you will only want to put the invisible thread in the top and a cotton thread in the bobbin.
Does Joanna say why she doesn't just use liquid starch?
She said she’s tried others and they don’t work for her.
tks interesting video
Those ones?
