Hope you enjoy a view into what the Estonian beach resort of Pärnu is like. This was the very first video we made using our new editing software, Shotcut. We were learning, as we still are, and hope to improve as we progress. We always welcome tips and advice so please leave a comment below. Thanks! 🙏😊

Great vid 👍 4:03 is Iseseisvuse väljak. It means Independence square. The birthtown of Estonian Republic. Originally intended to be proclaimed on 21 February 1918, the proclamation was delayed until the evening of 23 February, when the manifesto was printed and read out aloud publicly in Pärnu.(From the Endla theater balcony) 16:57 beer Tamula Vanake (Lake Tamula is a lake in southern Estonia, located on the southeastern side of the town of Võru.) Vanake- old man/elder Its inspired from the Ülemiste vanake. The mythological "Ülemiste Elder" (Estonian: Ülemiste vanake) is believed to live in the lake. Lake Ülemiste in Tallinn. If anyone should meet him, then he is believed to ask: "Is Tallinn ready yet?". If then the other person answered "yes", then he would flood the city, and so according to the myth, the necessary response is "No, there is much to be done yet".
Thank you so much for this fascinating information, Etunimi. I love the story about the Ulemiste vanake. I imagine Estonia is a land of many myths. I'd like to visit that lake now and maybe have a few beers there. See if we can see the old man. 😊 We liked the Independence Square. It seemed a really popular place for both young and old alike to hang out and socialise! Thanks for sharing this! 😊 ~ Lee

Nice video. Why is it so empty in August? Is it too late in the season?
The season really does end early. It was mid August if I remember and already winding down.
