  • In this weeks shop elements video, Chucks shows the tool and thread racks behind his main work table. The design is pretty basic and can be modified to meet your needs! We hope you're enjoying this series and hope it helps in setting up and organizing your own shop or workspace.

Got me some Weaver stickers in the mail today! Woohoo! Also picked up new lighting for my shop and now I am definitely building some of these racks!

The hardest part of setting up a bench or work area is when you have tried a new hobby like leather working and decided you want to continue. That time when you have too many tools to throw in a drawer or two, but also know you need a lot more tools before you really set it up. Like I thought I had a nice stamp holder that was plenty big enough to expand.. Till I watched Chuck's video series on them!

So many fantastic ideas Chuck. Now it becomes a question of where do I have room to hang them.

I like using peg board for my tools and other things. You can customize shape and size for the areas that you use for your storage.

Chuck, could you give an in depth video on skiing? I’m left handed which means nothing is easy, but I am having trouble skiing smaller pieces because my hand/weight gets in the way, especially on the corners. Love the videos, keep em coming!

Chuck, For my leather braid rolls I stack them one on top of the other then I can just pull out what I need and cut it off. It is tall but takes up no room. Darrell

Chuck, something that I’ve been studying about for a while. If I want to tool a project, such as a holster, and wet mold it too, how do I do it without ruining one or the other?

Hi Jim, the best way to do this is to tool only the area that won’t be bent or manipulated in the wet molding process. If you check out the holster video on our channel, Chuck tools an area on the side of the holster that won’t be molded. If you tool the entire piece and then wet mold, you will lose some of the definition in the tooling.
