That’s what I always said - shoes set the tone of the outfit. I love adding some trendier footwear to my classic wardrobe, it updates a look instantly.
The lipstick tip is so true. I find tinted lip glosses suit me best - one swipe and I'm instantly more put-together and look fresher. Works especially well when I'm not wearing any makeup.
As always a great video and tips! Personally I find the images of the street style outfuts mostly so ott. I do think F in Fashion stands for Fun but most of us live normal lives and can hardly go to work or mostly anywhere looking like that. Some of those outfits are quite ridiculous. ( Just a personal opinion, we don't have to all think the same ) . What looks put together is a combination of classic pieces with a trendy twist but always with clothes that are not 5 sizes bigger or smaller and proportions that make sense , if that makes sense :D. Greeting from Spain.
Shoes, bags, jewelry, accessories, makeup, hairdo are really fun to play with. I can wear a sweatshirt and sweatpants outfit with eye catching headwear, shoes, and bag to make a statement.
Great video! The lipstick is overlooked many times. I really like the slightly bigger size, especially for us women who don't fit in the cookie cutter shape.
Here in South korea, 99% of people are still wearing them everywhere and they're still mandated at my workplace and on public transportation etc. I don't mind it though. Basically, that's made me a huge eye makeup and accessories person!
opposite here, I got more of a lipstick 💄 monster since the Pandemic… shopped for too much lipsticks and got disappointed many times after going home coz the shades doesn’t look good on me (they don’t allow trial at stores due to pandemic)… been putting on lipstick more even under mask and at home during the peak frightening days of covid… realized I do it for me and not for people to see 😊❤ glad there are lots of transfer proof lipsticks nowadays 😊
Great tips! My husband recently gave me a “conflict free” diamond - it’s absolutely beautiful and I also love the concept! I believe it’s another step in the right direction of helping mankind! Thank you for promoting this company! 👍🏻👍🏻
If you want to help mankind, support stopping illegal immigration. Otherwise, the west will simply keep going further into poverty as the resources get divided and divided into smaller pieces.
You are great at what you do - your advice means a lot and so knowledgeable and makes you think out of the box …. Small details that we need to add to amp up our daily wear 💐💐💐🤗hugs from Toronto
Many really great tips! I have recently finally realized what a big difference a belt can make I😆I am very skinny so I almost disappear in my dresses so a belt has made a big difference. Winter is brutal here in Sweden today - 11 C so fashion is not the essential 😄
Creating an outfit that shows that you care, I like that I have an outfit all ready to go (so to speak) but with all the shoes I have in my closet I can't find the right style that will go with this outfit. The skirt needs a 2" heel not a 3". Maybe a kitten heel, So I'll keep looking. These tips were helpful! Fashion should be fun no matter what age you are.
Leonie, your Chucks and Nikes give you a fresh up-to-date look... I plan to buy both... I like Docs also but I heard they hurt until you break them in... I can't...😔
Thank you and I have just ordered a pair of Docs (a modern style) so I will let u know how I get on. I do remember having to break a pair in many years ago but here’s hoping things have changed 🤞🏼
I am cracking up because the jewelry and lipstick was a major thing with the grownup women as I was growing up. Once my mom got my ears peirce at the age of 16, this tip was then given to me no matter what you have on do not go out the door without earring and lipstick (lip gloss). My mom would even ask me (without fail) if I showup at her house, where are your earrings and lipstick. Her health is on a decline but every once in a while she will look up at me and inquire about their absence. LOL! I am not steady on the earring wearing but I do wear them if I see a pair nearby if I leaving out, but I have not been wearing the lip stuff because I still wear masks, I do have the stay put brand but only wear for special occasions, like going out to eat (which is rare). I just feel like getting a t-shirt that say dopamine dressing as a constant reminder that I need to add color to the bleak season while the flowers/fruit/greenery are on vacay. I like my stuff a little oversize because a look, It becomes about the styling of the garment and not necessarily the body it on. DSW loved me because I was a constant shopper because this was how I made a suit that I wore in the year 1999 look fresh in 2018 when I strutted into the office it was I'm not wearing pumps but a statement pair of booties, it makes the outfit your own. I actually put these notes into my planner this was really great and timeless tips. Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and all in the days to come.
Agree with all points but somehow I can't commit to lipsticks or even minimum makeup every single day🙈😅 Would love a deeper dive in monochrome outfits from you. Like construction wise. Darker tops and lighter bottoms or vice versa. Top n bottoms same shade with a different shade outer piece. Should the accessories be of same color or contrast ing to the outfit?
WOW my favourite outfit of the week is the Denim monochrome blue (12:02) I am working out how I am going to replicate this so balanced, and in actuality is borderline elegant. LOVE IT! Thank You.
Lipstick? Don't leave home without it! Same goes with earrings, rings, watch, etc. Otherwise I feel naked. And I agree with ALL of Leonie's tips. Thx a million for another fabulous video!
🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️ Lipstick Same here… 😂 just realized this Pandemic that I do it for me, because i like/love it, it’s fun. doesn’t matter if it’s unseen under the mask or just at home… make up, accessories, dressing up; we do it because we like it for ourselves not for other people ❤
You reminded me of my late mother, she would never set foot out the door without lipstick, sth which I adopted from a very young age☺.As always spot on Leonie❤
All great tips for sure..I always get useful tips from your channel. I size up on sweater dresses and use a link belt then add a structured brim hat..works every time.
So many good tips! I'm always amazed what lipstick can do for an outfit. The best advice I've found when it comes to deciding if a color is good for us is this. Hold the Garment up under your chin in front of a mirror and see if it makes Shadows disappear and if you look healthy. On the other hand if it makes you look sick and you see a lot of Dark Shadows in your face and neck, it's not a good choice. I love the color purple and I have purchased just based on preference but some of them work for me and some of them don't. We want our face to be the focal point rather than the color itself.
Do you have warmer coloring? I finally realized I could wear a warm red-violet, but cooler blue-based purples are not a good look on me. I have found a color wheel invaluable. Happy color seeking!
I skip lipstick most of the time because [a] it's a bit feminine for my more androgynous look [b] it wears off horribly and I have to take it all off and start again if I don't want patchy, flaky lips (because when I do wear it, I only really suit quite electric shades, fuschia or tomato red - so it's unforgiving when it wears off). It's more trouble than it's worth. At most I use lip-balm and possibly a neutral lip pencil for some almost invisible definition.
Leonie, you look so stunning in this green blouse. Where did you get it? Also, I decided to go gray and I’m loving it. Any suggestions what colors to wear with gray hair? I have champagne gray hair, I don’t think green is my color anymore but I love it so much ❤
Excellent ideas as always. You look fabulous. However wish you had another word for '"elevate" used 7 times, sorry don't mean to criticise, not even sure if there is another word that could replace it? Agree with you about lipstick, an essential, although masks have made this almost a non requirement in recent times, but we are slowly get back to them, so good.
Be Generous with Sizing… I couldn’t agree more. I had been following another UA-camrs advice to buy coats and blazers one size smaller so that they looked more fitted. And now all my coats and blazers just feel uncomfortable and tight. Silly me. So now when I buy a coat or a blazer and I can’t do that very often because my wardrobe is full, I buy my exact size even with oversized styles. And they feel so comfortable.
Yes it's always easier if coats and jackets are a tad oversized and it gives you the option of layering various pieces underneath. Maybe you could thrift a few slighter roomier options?
Loved this video. You look so stylish - will check out the jewelry for sure! I wear lipstick every day love it ❤ belts No - I feel uncomfortable in them 🙄 lol ❤
I love all of your videos and all of the styles you show are amazing however I don't feel I can pull off anything on your channel.... so, will you please do a video on apple shaped bodies (me).... I feel like I cannot be stylish for this reason..... HELP 😔
Dear Ms Leonie, I really enjoyed and appreciate your tips that are, yes, simple but make such a fantastic difference! I love the saying: from drab to fab!!! It does not involve lots of money but...lots of observation, will and action! Thank you so much! Happy Christmas!! helene :))
It is a misconception that lab grown diamonds are more environmentally friendly than natural mined diamonds - they are made with a huge amount of electricity and therefore they vary quite a lot. If the electricity is made by a coal fired plant, they may be much less environmentally friendly. I enjoy your programmes! Thanks.
Just have to steer away from the awwwwwful pull on pants. OMG, who invented that terrible style. I know it suits a more advanced aged bodies, but they dominate the market and finding pants with a zipper and belt loops is close to the impossible now a days. I for one love love belts, so yes, a great idea to elevate and improve the image with a belt.
That’s what I always said - shoes set the tone of the outfit. I love adding some trendier footwear to my classic wardrobe, it updates a look instantly.
It absolutely does 👏🏼😊
The lipstick tip is so true. I find tinted lip glosses suit me best - one swipe and I'm instantly more put-together and look fresher. Works especially well when I'm not wearing any makeup.
Perfect 🤩
Kelly green is really you colour. And I was sure a shade of green was going to be Pantone 2023.
Oh thanks and that would have been fun if green had been the 2023 Pantone colour 💚

Fair enough too 👍🏼

Great video! The lipstick is overlooked many times. I really like the slightly bigger size, especially for us women who don't fit in the cookie cutter shape.
It was having to wear masks everywhere during COVID-19 that got me out of the lipstick habit. It just smeared and no one could see it anyway.
Ahh right of course 👍🏼

You can add in your style
Hi Leonie! I like the green shirt with your brown hair.👋
Thank you so much Pat x
Live your shirt so much! Look amazing on you!
Thank you!!
Yes I agree with the size up definitely looks expensive and classy. Thank you for your video
Thanks for watching!
Dressing monochrome is my favorite.
It's always a vibe in my opinion x
Would you do something on elevated shoes and handbags. I have trouble with these. Thank you for your creative guidance.
Great idea 💡

Oh yes fashion needs to take a back seat when it’s that cold for sure 🥶
Yes, I apply all of them and they do great ❤

Love your style. Could you share where you sourced the blouse you are wearing?
It’s from Karenbritchick’s capsule collection with Amazon
Yep it’s from Karen’s Amazon The Drop collection 👍🏼
Very true about wearing lipstick, your face gets an instant lift and glow!!
So true!

🥶🥶🥶
I saw myself on the picture several months ago I looked so pale, from that day I returned to wearing lipsticks, great tips as always thank you!
Beautiful
Thank you
Knocking it out of the park again Leonie :)
Aww thank you so much x
I like the colourd lip balm, it doesn't get over the face. I dislike how lipstick travels.
Loved this video. You look so stylish - will check out the jewelry for sure! I wear lipstick every day love it ❤ belts No - I feel uncomfortable in them 🙄 lol ❤
Fair enough too - I actually love elasticated belts because you get a little shape and plenty of comfort x
Links you referred to in video?
Ooops so sorry I completely forgot to add them but they are in the description box now x
I love all of your videos and all of the styles you show are amazing however I don't feel I can pull off anything on your channel.... so, will you please do a video on apple shaped bodies (me).... I feel like I cannot be stylish for this reason..... HELP 😔

Great video Leonie!! Such amazing tips!! Would you please share your lip products you talked about? Thank you!!😊
Of course!! Sorry about that. I've added the links now :)

With the rose lipglow you look 10 years younger

Definitely lipstick. Doesn't need to be a strong colour
Beautiful blouse btw
Oh thank you!
The Matt Dior lipstick does not smear easily
Great to know thx

In Germany you still need a mask in public transport. So if I put any colour lipstick, it goes directly on the mask 😉

If people only knew the horrible human rights violations associated with mining diamonds. Agree lab diamonds are the more ethical choice.
Exactly! Luckily I think most people appreciate the true cost of mined diamonds now :)
We agree too!!
Wrong shoes is my fashion sin.
That’s such a common one ☝🏼
I’m a lipstick girl .
Me too x
Trainers never elevate your style unless you are headed to the gym.
Boris Karloff monster boots also don’t do you any favors.
Well I suppose that's the great thing about fashion - we all love different things! x
