i would be happier with half the speed and double the range. maybe twin diesels. would feel less nervous sitting on 1300 litres of diesel than petrol. couple of Yanmars 4LV at 15000$ each compared to MErcury 600HP at 75000$ will leave you with lots of change too.

The Mercury V12 is a complete high-tech system, including their new autopilot. Their fuel consumption at 30MPH cruising speed is outstanding. The typical use case for this configuration is saving cruising time and having more time for fishing where the fish are. Outboard maintenance costs are typically lower than on sterndrives. That isn't a cabin cruiser. It is an outboard powered trawler with minimal range. Cruisers have RANGE.
