As you are exposed to more of their catalogue you will also pick up elements of Pink Floyd and will see how Matt Bellamy is able to bring the grandeur of symphonies to their sound enriching it still further. MUSE are one of my favorites. There is heavy influence from U2, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, but they FULLY are their own. Seen them multiple times live. They have been great each time. It has been awesome to watch them grow as a live band. Black Holes & Revelations is my favorite album. It is their most complete and cohesive. So many great songs on that album. They continue to put out great songs, however, I think their albums have progressively gone down.
You guys need to check out supper massive black cover live at triple J like a version by Australian metalcore band thornhill your mind will be blown by Jacob’s live performance it’s so good please react to it and compare it with the original version and the cover version too also 2 cellos did a cover of supermassive black hole with the late great Niya Rivera.

I definitely hear the ELO influences. This album has a lot of "barbershop" elements as well. A lot of the backing vocals sound like a barber quartet.
My recommendations for you to check out would be Citizen Erased, Hysteria, Reapers, Assassin, Plug In Baby, Bliss, Muscle Museum.
