Last part of quite a few dvd pickups! I'm really excited for all of these titles, and I hope it was a fun ride for all of you as well ^^

The style of Heat Guy J is so fun! The round faces remind me of Astro Boy.

Dang UA-cam must be acting funny because I didn't even get a notification on this video. Samurai Troopers AKA Ronin Warriors. That anime brings so much nostalgia for me. I think to be honest that was the first anime I ever watched. Heat guy J and gun sword I used to run into all the time at my local Second and Charles. I should have bought them when I had the chance.

I'm inching ever closer to watching Samurai Troopers. I love watching classic Anime in the winter months and I've had an itch for more Saint Seiya-esque action. I had the DVDs but upgraded to the Blu Ray recently. $13 is an absolute steal for the DVD, I sold mine for many times that even with the Blu Ray around now.
I've seen Nightwalker, wasn't a major fan of it myself sadly. I don't really remember why though. I think I liked the main character well enough. Got to love old Central Park Media DVD sets, a glorious mix of both beautiful art and yet a scent of low budget lol. Apparently the series was based on a PC game from a few years earlier.
Not seen Gun Sword but it sounds interesting, all the genres it touches on has been a nightmare for deciding where I put it in the collection. It's currently living in Mecha but has also been in Sci-Fi and Seinen too lol. I guess watching it is the only cure to solving that problem. I have the Funimation complete set but I used to own the singles once upon a time. Seeing those art inserts again has me wishing I had stashed those away before selling them. The art on this show sorta reminds me abit of Solty Rei but hearing he worked on Code Geass too and now I can totally see it in every character. Loved the joy you had going through those sets :D
I have to confess that I really didn't like Heat Guy J. I wanted to love it so much, the trailers made it look so cool and the Akane designs were a major draw. Ultimately I think the show was just different to what I thought it was going to be and I never got over that, I was also sick when I first saw it which certainly didn't help. I need to go back and finish the last 8 episodes someday. Love the Opening to this series. Thankfully my feeling towards the show are very much in the minority so I hope you enjoy it! Apprently this series was a major car crash for Geneon USA's finances because they went above and beyond bidding for the rights and even did two seperate artboxes, all those foil covers and massively pushed it in an attempt to have their own FMA after that was such a massive hit. The singles look so nice and I totally relate to getting new old releases like this, it's really nostalgic and just satisying. You really are building quite the geneon singles collection, something I once had and I'll enjoy revisting through your videos lol.

As I was looking over this set when it came in, and I went "oh, I think I like this...maybe I should've looked for the blu ray..." Happy I bought it, even while filming, I was thinking I want to watch this one now. I heard a long time ago this has the feel of a sailor moon type troop/show, but with guys instead. Not sure how accurate that description is, but it kept Samurai Troopers in my head for a long time because thats what I heard ^^
I'll have to watch all of NightWalker with fresh eyes, because it's been a long long time lol. I for sure watched the first episodes when I had very little else to compare it too. YES the scent of Low Budget, that's exactly it! I'm weirdly fond of that style of cover even with the knowledge that it's not great AHAHA
I have no idea where where you would put Gun x Sword, the more I looked into it the more it just has everything in it somehow. I'm super curious if it gels nicely or turns into a complete mess. I'm hoping for the first but we'll see! I hadn't looked at the inserts when these first came in, so it was a very honest reaction XD I wish we got more extra art in sets, it feels like you have to buy boxsets or limited editions for this stuff now.
AH! Color me surprised that you didn't like Heat Guy J! But that's totally understandable, not all anime win with every viewer after all. This one has been on my "pick up" list for a long time, Mostly because of Akane being the Director, but geez it also just has so much that I should end up liking. Almost bought a different set earlier this year but went for Android Kikaider instead (which was worth it!). It was just so weird seeing these in a used store (especially the sealed ones) I will let you know what i think of it once I watch it, but it needs to go on the back burner for a little while ^^
Somehow a have a complete (small) shelf of Geneon/Pioneer singles... I wasn't even trying too!? I'm a-ok with this ^^ I'm Glad revisiting these releases has been fun for you, they are a blast to me! I promise the new releases/bluray things are next XD Thanks Blaize!
I can’t find Nightwalker for a good price! I will need to hunt it down in 2023! I really enjoyed it. Never heard of Gun Sword but you of course talked me into wanting it lol I need to watch Heat Guy J. It’s just been chilling in my collection for years. Not sure why I haven’t watch it yet.
OH now that I know you are looking for it I'll keep my eye out for a good deal again ^^ I had no idea you had Heat Guy J! We'll have to talk about one I get around to watching it, for right now I have so many I'm watching XD

Samurai Troopers was a very random find, I wasn't planning on getting the series but I'm too curious and it was too great a price LOL Yeah if you are out to get it I say go for the blu ray as well ^^ Thanks BJ : D
