A already wrote this on another video, sorry, but thought it’s worth it: I was just able to catch it last night 😊. In a busy austrian skiresort light pollution is heavy, but our balcony points exactly in the right direction, big dipper right in front of us. I only have my tripod and Canon 90D with me, no startracker, but I still wanted to try. With the 18-55 stocklense and 10-second-exposures I could hardly detect it, but I got a feel for the direction. I changed to the 70-300-lens, taking 15-second-exposures with high ISO to slowly zoom in while re-focusing at every step, ending at about 260mm. With a simple 4-second-image at ISO 1600 I was already very happy, but of course it wasn’t after stacking 80 images that it revealed a lot of its beauty! I never compare my pictures with the pro‘s, I‘m just happy with it and impressed again and again with what is possible with such simple equipment, some perseverance and experience. And it all nicely fit into a happy skiing holiday with the family 😅!
Thanks so much for a great writeup of your journey with ZTF. I learned a long time ago that the worst thing to do is to compare your images to others. Be proud of what you take and only compare your images to ones you've taken in the past. Happy for you and hope you enjoyed the ski trip!
Thank you for your informative videos. What days do you normally release your monthly videos?1
Around the first of each month. Normally a day before the 1st.
Love you from India 🇮🇳
Bro 🥰 lovely ❤ video ❤wanting for your next video
Great info !
Glad it was helpful!
Do you know what time it’ll pass February 1st and 2nd in PST?
It will be visible throughout the night in the locations shown in the video. The only thing hurting the view right now is the Moon.
The skies finally cleared up here. This past week I have viewed the comet and other objects.
I'm so glad to hear that! I haven't been able to view it since late January.
Excellent rundown as usual. I'll try to see ZTF from my location , if I get a good view I'll try for a photo.
Thanks so much! Clouds returned to my neighborhood. Let me know how ZTF works out for you!
