Right on. My initial conversion to become a follower of Christ Jesus was purely politically motivated and a dash of curiosity. As I’ve slowly been drawn to the faith, the more I learn about it the more I pray the more I go to Him at the adoration, I slowly place my hope in Him instead of the princes of the world. I used to think the only way to heaven is to go to the most based church. Now I understood God work in us through our imperfections including our clergy. I do wear a chapel veil, which is a rare practice in my average Joe parish. Now that I’ve engaged my imagination faculty during mass seeing the angles and Saints around the alter, it’s only fitting to cover my hair. So yes the outward signs and sacramentals matter. They remind us God’s omnipotence. They are just not the end goal but means. Following Christ is conversion of my heart to align with His. He is the one making everything possible not the based church or the veil.
