Learn Old English through story (w. Dr. Colin Gorrie)

In this video, I had the privilege of talking to Dr. Colin Gorrie of the Ancient Language Institute, who I had admired from afar for at least a year but had an email exchange with a few months ago about his upcoming book. 'Ōsweald Bera' ('Osweald Bear') is a story that uses comprehensible input to build up the reader's understanding of Old English gradually, until they are reading complex prose passages. I've been asked a number of times what the best way of learning Old English is, and I was only able to recommend textbooks which are difficult to get into and don't necessarily help the language stick in your head very well - Colin's comprehensible input approach is (in my opinion) a much better way of developing an implicit understanding of the language, which you can then build upon by learning the technical terminology.
