I get its a joke, but people (sadly, including myself 🤣) really think that thats how this works. For anyone wondering, its not, splitting a single atom doesnt even give off enough energy to move dust. Insted, in an atomic bomb, many many many atoms are split simultaneously in chain reaction

The B-52 in the Palomares accident wasn't on a training mission, they were on airborne alert under Operation Chrome Dome. B-52s were airborne at all times just in case war broke out. It was the Palomares accident and the Thule accident that convinced the civilian leadership that Chrome Dome wasn't worth the risk.

Not mentioned here are two incidents involving nuclear bombs in the continental US:
Goldboro NC (1961) and Albuquerque NM (1957). In both cases the errant multi-megaton bombs fell near populated areas. In the Albuquerque incident, The device's conventional explosives destroyed it on impact, leaving a crater 7.6 metres (25 ft) in diameter and 3.7 metres (12 ft) deep. Though a chain reaction was impossible because the plutonium pits were stored separately on the plane as a safety measure, the incident spread radioactive contamination and debris over a mile-wide area.

There was also a nuclear bomb accidentally dropped in the upstate of South Carolina not far from my house, the explosive casing blew but the fail safes worked as intended.

Guys I know how to build an everything proof shelter
Step 1: Buy 10000 nokias, don't worry they are very cheap, one of them is like about 2 to 5 dollars
Step 2: Build a carboard box fort.
Step 3 stick the nokias to cover all of the walls and roofs and floors of the fort then you are immune to everything.

That's just the problem with a nuclear arsenal. If there's the slightest possibility for error, given enough time the unlikeliest of events can come to pass. It is also possible that nations states are at more risk from their own nuclear arsenal's weapons than a foreign powers weapons.

The shaped charge of conventional explosives in nuclear weapons must detonate evenly to apply equal pressure from all sides in order to properly compress the Uranium-235 or Plutonium-239 core and initiate the nuclear explosion which is unlikely if the bomb falls out of an airplane as in one of the accidents mentioned here and its for that reason, I think, that none of these "Broken Arrows"(the US Government's term for an accident or theft involving a nuclear weapon) incidents resulted in a nuclear explosion. The sheer volume of nuclear weapons in existence during the Cold War all but assured that things would go wrong.

rip to those pilots who had droped the bombs... oh wait i was a pilot, still haunts me to this day hour, minet and seccond... no searously i was the person who loaded the bomber for routine bombings and was almost station as tail gunner but then plane repare incident (prop fell and nearly cut leg off) caused loss to one of my legs so I was not sutible to fly due to my current condition.

There is an error in your story about the Palomares incident. The detail about the weapon not detonating because of a single switch that prevented it was a totally different accident. That incident also happened to a B-52 flight taking off from Seymore-Johnson Airforce Base. In this case, the bomber was taking off to do a practice refueling scenario near the air base. The refueling plane reported to the B-52 that there was a fuel leak and shortly afterwards the plane began to suffer structural failures and came apart. Six crewmen were able to paracute out just before the plane fell apart, but one died after his parachute failed. The pilot and copilot went down with the plane and also died. The plane had two nukes on board. One fell apart in the crash and the core never was found. The other is the bomb that nearly detonated.

04:00 could you please at least try to animate a plane close to the plane you are talking about? Its very strange to hear you saying: "3 of the 6 enginges had to be shut down" and "a big bomber" and looking at a small plane with one propeller at the front... Except that, great as always!
