That look of horror on Clarus ("you put 14 yr olds with 18yr olds?!") is my adolescence personified.
and if the math happens weird..!
... i was in 9th grade at 13 (flipped 14 a month after the start of 9th grade).
13 yr olds G8-12 in my town. lol BC canada
Girl you look like the actress Anya Taylor Joy
I thought this was very cleverly written, and also love Riley's panicky crush/hero worship of Val. The presentation of Anxiety as not a villain, but an inadvertent opponent is brilliant, and I love the expansion of the worldbuilding to include the ever-evolving "Sense of Self."
I do think the movie may suggest subtly that Riley is slightly fluid when it comes to her sexuality and gender -- she is the only person in the entire "Inside-Out-verse" whose control panel is both male and female. For everyone else we've met, their control panels are controlled by emotions of the same sex. So it's an interesting thought.
Last but not least, I love seeing the little sleeping nooks of the emotions! Anger has a fire blanket and a cinderblock (and a swear jar), Fear sleeps with a teddy bear, Sadness has a tissue box and a stuffed animal, and Joy has the same glowy stars as Riley's ceiling (and a statue of Bing Bong)! So cute.
I love that in the first movie, Joy says, "Sadness, Riley NEEDS you", and here Sadness says, "Joy, Riley WANTS you". We need sadness, but we want joy.
Clarus said 17 meters, and every American had to quickly think of the conversion.
36:49 Thank god I'm not the only one who said "for F#$%@$& WHAT?!?" and lost it when they where calling bs calls in the games
Lost it when ya said "their eating the dogs🤌🏻"😂
I get why they did it like they did: Riley had to suffer in a way that would cause her to have a panic attack, but not in a way that would cause the audience to lose sympathy. If she had drawn a legit penalty for charging or something, that would have been more realistic but would also make her less sympathetic
I viewed that more as a Coach giving her a timeout for all her actions so far, like they called her out for not doing after Riley stole the puck from her teammate
clarus what is your hair routine? your hair looks so good
Honestly? I wash my hair every 10-12 days and use k18 and that's kinda it 😅
Thank you tho!
36:49 I swear, that “For what!” Sounded very close to how Shoresy says it.
Wow Nerdy, I didn't know you were from Bay City!
Also I think it is pretty obvious what her deep dark secret is....
Bay City, Saginaw, Flint
Actually, I'm not really sure, what is the deep dark secret? /gen
Nerdy... were you watching the same scene I was for the second penalty? Riley actively body checked Grace with all her weight. If it's about who initiated contact, then Riley absolutely did.
OMG! Yesterday I was thinking 'd love to see you guys react to this, I'm so happy!
The argument about the legality of the foul call near the end is hilarious
In the UK we have 11-18 year olds in the same school, we don't have any concept of Middle School.
In Brazil we have 0-18 year olds in the same school lol
Idk why it always throws me off when he says “my name’s nerdy” and it’s not followed by “& my names nightly” 💀
If anything I learned some rules of hockey from this video🤣
Great reaction guys ❤ Clarus I love ur hair girl
Anxiety being upset and worried at the sight of her new sense of self does a LOT to help show that she's not a villain, she genuinely just wants to help and doesn't want to hurt riley but she only letting herself take control and Anxiety alone doesn't end well.
I just loathe when people always try to find the worst traits in other characters and that's all they dwell on. When sometimes, it's true, some characters are meant to be made into "irredeemable monsters." But those who aren't villains always have the chance to redeem themselves and bring out their BEST traits in trade of their worst ones. When also that's clearly what Anxiety does, she realizes that what she's been doing was harming Riley, but she managed to shift her focus on the stuff that she CAN control instead of ones she CAN'T.
@OdogRuby77 anxiety is an important aspect and can be useful if kept under check and I love how this movie showed exactly that at the end.
In my hometown our Highschool was grade 8-12. Small town Canada is like that too
7:41 made me chuckle, anticipating the reaction for what's to come 😂
The Substance is going to be a WILD reaction if you do it
13:06 "It is you" 😭😭😭
Wow I absolutely did not catch the segregated high schools the first time around.😂
I'm glad someone noticed the "iffy" call on the penalty. :D
And yeah, Riley is like a phenom. Surefire #1 pick at the PWHL draft.
The Shorsy-style "FOR WHAT?!?!?" made me laugh so dang loud. omg. So Canadian.
Yeah, this movie was an uncomfortable experience, but still fun?
"You put 14 year olds with 18 year olds" haha in Germany we put 10 year olds with 19 year olds
Do you graduate high school at 19 in Germany?
@@adiahaalexander9359 depends on the state. I still had 12 years of school and graduated at 18 but now they have gone back to 13 years. But those 12 or 13 years are only the case if you want to obtain the "Abitur" which you need if you want to go to university. If you don't want to go to uni you can leave school much earlier than this
I feel like most of the actually important parts of this movie were completely ignored in your reaction. It felt like you really didn't understand the crux of the story. To each their own I guess.
i mean... have you seen their attack on titan series? They are notorious for ... missing everything.
And yet somehow youtube keeps recommending them to me -.-
@@iCyberDev it recommends them because you are here watching their video and commenting under it 🤣
What do you mean? What did they miss?
The way this movie attacked my inner child and tackled me to the floor..
Day 2 of asking nerdy nightly to watch One Punch Man
In mild defense of the US high school system it is mostly 14-17, with only a few 18 year olds in my experience
Most seniors are 18 fym
50:00 accepting random CDs or USB sticks of "music" are also massive security risks
I have never been so early
I NEED THAT SHIRT!! ❤
I'm sorry. But had to stop at 27:25 because i'm sick of this feminine/masculine crap. I'm a tomboy. have been since I was a kid. I'm 32 now and I bet a lot of people might peg me as a bisexual or lesbian but i'm very straight. I'm sick of people forgetting that's an option. And in my opinion, Riley is very straight. I was the tomboy who wore boy clothes and rejected all femininity.
Straights are so opressed😢
From what I read in a comment on a different reaction, in San Francisco high school selection is based on a lottery where students are assigned high schools at random. The system is meant to prevent have and have-not schools. So it's entirely possible to be assigned a different school than your next door neighbour.
My teen (15 years old with AuDHD) is a High School Junior. It can be challenging (for me), but they're loving it.
Thank God for someone else calling out the coach and ref's BS throughout this film, I felt like I was going insane being completely alone in recognizing all that, legit thought I was schizophrenic lmao
People come up to you in Chicago and just put stuff on you or put it in your hand, and the asked for "donation " . Like wtf? I didn't want these things.
Could you guys please react to the call(2013) or Us (2019)? Both are a very intense and crazy suspense movie
that time someone tried to give Clarus a CD on the street in Toronto..... is this a secret hint/code? Mr Robot when???? 😉😆
Now I'm not versed on the hockey rules at all so i have no idea how it works but Grace wasn't bumping into Riley. Riley wasn't paying attention and full body bumped her to move her away from the goal to score. That could definitely be within the rules but I think that's why Anxiety says "I didn't see her". I think it has more to do with Riley seeing a person in her way and not specifically her friend.
The coach put Riley in penalty because she saw that Riley was doing to much
I find that I can watch this again with... reaction videos
I appreciate the Hockey commentary.
10:55 I lived a block away from the really nice High School all my friends went to. I happened to be zoned to go to one 10 miles away. In the ghetto.
Kinda the same. I lived 5 miles away from one high school, the one I wanted to go to and about 10 miles from another where most of the people I knew went but I had to go to one 17 miles away where I only knew a few people.
Riley w/a beard
Next level anxiety
I know flap all about Hokey and I knew there was something off about that last penalty. But still a great scene
:3
I think Riley is non-binary. Notice her parent's emotions are all the same gender, but here are mixed.
What about Bree and Grace? They also had male emotions.
@@SandJosieph i forgot that we got a scene from their pov. Maybe my theory is wrong.
It could mean that the kids' identities in general are more in flux than the adults'.
@jaredpoulter6762 They are portraying that your gender identity doesn't solidify until your brain finishes maturing as you move into adulthood.
