It looks amazing and I can't believe it is finally done! You guys must be so relieved, proud, and happy! Looking forward to the next project journey you take us on!
I say great job to you both, I to am glad it is finally done. Many videos I was so worried about climbing up the ladders, even the homemade ones. Can’t wait to see what you guys are up to next. Maybe time for some relaxation. 🎉Well deserved 😊
Thanks! And love the abbreviation LOL. Rich and I sat here trying to figure out what it meant, and we even googled it! And then it finally clicked and we couldn't stop laughing. We LOVE it!!!! Thanks for making out day!
Nice job on the metal. Thankfully, we had a simple loft roof, but it DID have a 12/12 pitch. Sitting on that ridge putting in ridge cap is NOT recommended for young folks thinking of having a family! And with the peak being almost 28 feet above the ground, it was pretty scary. But man is it ever worth it to look up and see the finished product knowing you did it yourselves! Our house is the same color as your roof, with the roof and trim in a burgundy. If you get the chance, check out some of our early videos. It's nice having another couple almost our ages doing something similar! At least we can show the younguns by our mistakes.....
Thank you, and we can't imaging how scary it was to be up that high doing that roof of yours! We will definitely check out some of your videos and appreciate you reaching out :-) sorry we only saw your other message to us this morning for the first time! Have a great day 🙂
UA-camr Tiny Shiny Home did a DIY exterior siding job on their Shelter Logic frame once the zip cover was toast. Those covers seem like the weakest link for folks.
Thanks! We just finished watching their video and a few others and we have some good ideas because we literally purchased used metal roofing from marketplace yesterday!!! Hope we have time before it snows! Stay tuned....
3:30 why not install a board on the other side of the peak? It would anchor the make shift roof ladder. 6"x6" tin corner trim to seal the back of the wall and roof. It looks just like ridge cap. Without it it's a wind catch . Wind never gives up and it will work that edge until it is flapping in the breeze. Look at any steel building and that is how it is sealed on the end sloped eaves.
Yes, thank goodness we don't need to do that ladder anymore! And yes, we still have some more detail work to finish before we are truly done, however, we are dried in and that is HUGE for us 🙂
The green trim, the brown siding, the roof angles, the rocks, the leaves, the white birches, the mountains. It definitely looks right! 👍👍
Thank you so much! This was a huge accomplishment for us 🙂
