Jennifer the one thing I took from this video is that you give some love to stamps and everything you do.
It's a wonderful gift to have and use.
    All the cards are lovely.
The different ways you gave for using layer stamps are very helpful.
I'm a big fan of die cutting then stamping. I use it often and find it gives me really good results.
    Cheers

Thank you for doing this Jennifer, I am a total swatch lover, I have all my inks swatched and keep them in coin pockets. Now I will have to do the layering sets. I find it so helpful but most of my friends think I’m crazy. If you find time to update the oxide inks just the set 5 is missing and I would love to finish off swatching them.... thanks for all your hard work xx

Wish I'd used your Swatch sheets but I don't think I will start again!! Love looking through my swatches just to admire all the colour. It cheers me up on a grey day 😊❤

Jennifer McGuire is so good. Great in fact. I’m so attracted to her aesthetic that I have to remind myself that I don’t like ink layering. I really love the swatches and coin pouches; I’m almost persuaded to buy all the different inks just so I can make swatches and put them in page protectors.
I disagree that layered stamps produce realistic images. No they do not. They mimic a commercial printing process very effectively. And I totally get why stampers who feel challenged/overwhelmed by coloring and shading love this type of stamp. It makes for a fantastic, if mechanical image. I imagine for lots of stampers it’s quite satisfying like completing a jigsaw puzzle.
If you want realism though you have to use the stamps that are produced from actual photographs. Or easier and cheaper, print your own photos in grayscale or as halftones and color over the top. If you like coloring, it’s great fun. Plus you learn loads about shading, blending, and color layering. Also with all of the apps and software available these days, it’s so easy to produce a wide variety of images. I think there’s so much to select from that every aesthetic is covered. I still love stamping of course; I own way too many.

I may in a future video. But honestly, I rarely use it. Only when I have LOTS to cut out. I prefer the techniques, speed, and flexibility of dies. Lila uses the Scan N Cut more than I do! LOL. There are LOTS of great intro videos to the machine. It is so easy to set up. I am not an expert. :)
