WTC Simulation 2.0 Announcement [8K]

- To improve building designs you need to understand their behavior. 10 years ago there was a first simulation attempt of the top of the north tower uploaded to this channel. 6 years ago this led to the opportunity to develop a new software for structural simulation within a scientific environment. And now is a good time to put the Bullet Constraints Builder to the ultimate test... Stay tuned!

It's good you are including the basin in this simulation, many forget there was an entire building complex below the towers
@@mtm4a Actually I'm more thinking about how damage of the basement superstructure could have affected other buildings within the basin after the first collapse. I know some of you are still keen on finding the magic evidence of George Bush's fingerprints on the boxes of thermite, but the reality is that a shed ton of metal and rubble hit the streets of Manhattan, causing damage that could have even crippled the entire subway network for years.
@@laurencebois5119 it did cripple the subway network. That segment was disused for a long time
@@Freshbott2 I think the civil engineers were concerned about flooding the subway network with river water if the basin suffered a critical failure where the shore line used to be, that's the situation I was meaning when I said crippled

@@mtm4a Horse Poo - As I thought...
After coming back to rewatch this video for the nth time, I noticed some inconsistencies in the representation of the tower. They're quite subtle but could still make the simulation less accurate (as if I'm the one to say). It could be that I'm wrong and you had access to more blueprints than me, in which case I would be very glad to be told what I'm wrong about!
But nonetheless:
-It seems that you've misplaced the 41st floor mechanical level (in the video it's on the 40th floor instead),
-Some floors in the North Tower, primarily the 67th floor and the skylobbies, were taller than the rest, at 16' and 14' respectively, while in the video all floors seem to be the same size,
-There were no columns at the corners above the 106th floor as far as I'm aware (so the restaurant floor and the last mechanical floors),
-There were corner columns, however, on the 7th and 9th floors that are not present in the video,
-There was a spandrel plate midway up the upper lobby windows on all corners which, again, is not visible in the video.
Some other minor details that are most likely purely visual are the fact that the columns at the restaurant floor tapered down a bit (as seen on the South Tower in the background), which is weirdly not present on North Tower, the windows on the 9th floor were as tall as on all other 12' tall floors, while in the video they seem a bit short and the corner columns appear to have been placed on the inside-facing sides of the spandrel plates, while in the video they're facing outside.
Hopefully it doesn't seem like I'm being a giant douche trying to tell someone else what's right and what's wrong or being overly critical, but that's just what I noticed as I'm very excited to see the final video! It will be awesome!
Nerd
@@johns8902 I'm taking that as a compliment! :D
@@TheFenX2012 The attn to the detail is amazing!! And I surely wear my nerd badge proudly! 😎
Thanks, you are right, there are still some inaccuracies that can be improved, even though I don't believe they will have much impact on the overall result.

Of coarse not, you've already expressed/ displayed, you couldn't be bothered with details.
Don’t give up on your project. I like to see your WTC simulation.
Wow, i remember the first simulation that you did like 10 years ago. Looking forward into this! #NeverForget ❤️

“Coming soon” even though it’s been 2 years
I remember the one you made awhile ago and being amazed! I am really curious to see the update! Thank you for your hard work.
I look forward to see your results. So far they've been remarkable.
Wow, seems like a lot of work
Cant wait to see the result !
when should we expect this to come out?
Will you ever do 2WTC? I’d love to see that as well. Eventually do a big compilation of all 3 from that day
Wow, Please include as many camera angles as you can as well as possibly some angles that were taken in real life, such as the one with msnbc standing next to wtc3 during the south tower collapse. That would be awesome! Could you also add some angles inside different parts of the tower during the collapse?
I'm looking forward to this simulation 👀
Stupid question, but do you have object collision turned on? I watched your original only just tonight and wondered if it would be possible to simulate with object collisions too (so that beams / girders etc don't clip through each other).
Not realising you were doing a follow-up, I actually looked around to see if I could find a blend file of something very similar to test on my 10c/20t 9900X w/ 64GB RAM (noting your original stated 12GB max RAM at the time).
I'm looking forward to the next video.😊
Awesome work you did there man!
1. Could you do a better interior view this time? I mean, not like the previous one where the camera phased through the building, but one where you make the exterior walls invisible?
2. Could you show multiple angles?
3. Will you be simulating the full collapse this time?
Do you have an idea of when that will be finished? Looking forward to it!
People that say its weird how these structures collapsed and are baffled by the small heap of rubble it left behind completely forget that these 2 towers were 95% air due to their design
I say this all the time. Look at pictures of them at night with all the lights on. Buildings are hollow.
They had a core comprising of 47 columns, the core was a building on its own, a building inside the building. That's not %95 air.
@@azmagarefThe core had air inside of it
There were also several basement floors and parking below the towers which also included the mall and PATH station
Looking forward to it!!!
where is it? been two years
Can't wait!!!
Guys, it's still happening. It's just taking a couple years to render :)
Can’t wait to see this! 🔥
How soon can we expect the simulation? and will there be a second simulation of the South tower?
The when is hard to tell, but simulations of both towers are planned.
@@KaiKostack class, would it be likely within the next year lol?
@@maxmccann5323 I still hope to get it finished this year. 🙂
@@KaiKostack what a new year's present that would be haha! Will the textures of the buildings be the same in the final render? Sorry all the questions I'm just pretty excited!
The more angles and filters you show in the final video the better
I'm just wondering, since the south tower collapsed first, is this including the south tower collapse or will the south tower already be shown to have collapsed and caused damage in the simulation? Or will the north tower collapse as if the south tower was still standing? Just curious about that, either way it's going to be awesome
Both towers will be simulated.
How well is it replicating the collapse? Does the top block decelerate or fall off?
R.I.P. to all who have died in 9/11.
Would you consider simulating the plane impact? It's objected that the wings would sheer off rather rip through the facade even out towards the wingtips; I'm curious what it would look like.
Shanksville is another: what fuselage, if any, would be left behind from an impact into the ground at full speed.
Actually, the columns were made of thin steel plate, so it's not that hard to see why the wings went through.
just letting you know, purdue university has done a simulation of flight 11 hitting 1 WTC and the damage before the collapse
Any updates?
Hope you happened to see "Building 7 Explained: Comprehensive Final Edition," which uses your awesome simulation (which you approved several years ago). Can't wait for this one! Let's put an end to this stupid "20 floors could only destroy 20 floors because of Newton's 3rd" nonsense.
Hi Edward and thanks for letting me know about your update. I have watched your video and I think it's excellent. It's a perfect reference that we can point our conspiracy believers to, who are still commenting and complaining under my WTC 7 video every day. ;-)
@@KaiKostack Yeah you also have people thinking that the planes were CGI and that it were explosives that took the towers down.
Let's just not take thousands of eyewitnesses that saw the planes go into the towers into account.
From atomic bombs under the complex to some sort of sci-fi energy weapons, they have every story one can imagine. You'll have to admit that these people are kind of creative at times.

I love your videos, especially the 9/11 videos. I’ve been a fan of this channel for five years. I’m hoping for a reply since this is my favorite channel. Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing such amazing videos to the rest of the world👍😃
Thank you for your kind words and loyalty. 🙂
It is a good thing that you are making simulations on buildings 1 and 7, since they are the center of conspiracy theories. Your Champlain Towers simulation proves that there are buildings that have collapsed without planes or fire.
@@KaiKostack Thanks for the feedback😄
is it possible to simulate the whole 9/11 event affecting the entire complex with high level of detail? it can shed a light regarding WTC7 fate, maybe after WTC1 and 2 collapse, it affected WTC7 structure in some unexpected way.
It's fairly accepted that as the North Tower collapsed, the upper floors struck WTC7, and caused structural damage and fires that ultimately led to it's collapse. Normally, WTC7 would have had sprinkler systems in place to deal with the fires, but the pumps and control room for this system was under the main WTC complex, and heavily damaged when the two towers collapsed on top of it.
@@DownundaThunda I'd be interesting to see that in the simulation since the north tower collapsed almost vertically. the south tower did in fact tilted the upper portion when collapsing but the south was farther away from WTC7 than the north was. I'd like to see which tower collapse had the biggest impact on WTC7
@@Mr.President Neither tower collapsed vertically. If you watch the video of the North Tower collapse from the helicopter from the Hudson direction, you can see a large portion of the top of the building falling to WTC7 and hitting it.
And the damage to the hotel indicates that the South Tower fell as much to the west as it did to the east.
Great and amazing job..! ❤
Hi...I'm Brazilian and I've always been in love with the Twin Towers !!!! Even today I get emotional when I see videos, movies and photos on UA-cam of this beautiful structure that is no longer there 😔 !!! He can
I've never traveled to the US, but I've always been curious to know from the Americans themselves the que do you think about it ::the towers would fall with that impact ?? It was horrible to see that gigantic plane entering the building.... Even though it was something dark what happened, I ask :: those
When it will come?
Hi! Waiting for it.
When will it come out
Wow I wish I could have this 3D model id build a Authentic Miniature out of it using real concreate and working lights and everything do you have the Model to download anywhere?
Video in july?
Next can you make a North Tower collapse?
Is it still being worked on?
you gonna do both towers in complete collabse? I would like to see that one!
Definitely the north tower, not sure about the second one though because it's quite similar.
@@KaiKostack actually. The south tower collabse was differend than the north tower. Because it fell at an angle.
I know, but it's not very different in the way how the progressive collapse dynamics act. If you understand one tower then you can imagine the other.
I would just like to see if the south tower effected the north when it fell and how much debris covered the ground below the north. I have always wondered if people who were trying to leave the north tower after the collapse of the south got trapped due to the pile of debris on the exits. It’s hard to see real footage because of all the dust so a simulation would help us better know what happened
@@KaiKostack the conspiracy theorists will be after your head if you don't do the south tower. They will think you're hiding something.
No video this month😞
We can expect a video in February?🏙
Very nice! However, I think you should add holes on the side too since the explosion blast damaged the facades
Yes. There was slices on the side that aren't shown in the animation
What damage to the facades besides broken windows?
@@MrKoenig1985 the blast destroyed the steel of the facade in the position of the airplanes wings.
@@AS-bc9qd Where can I see that? Jet-fuel deflagration can hardly destroy any steel.
In fact, most of the cladding remained attached to the exterior columns on other sides, where fireballs emerged also. Only where the plane and its debris impacted the walls, the steel was damaged and cladding came off.

Hello Mr Kostack, on what floors did the size/thickness/grade of the steel columns change in the twin towers? ...every 10 floors or something?
I think it was every 4 floors
And using 12 different grades of steel
You should do this with the south tower
We can expect a video in june?
I can't promise, but it won't take too long anymore.

@@maxmccann5323 The computers are working around the clock, yet it's still hard to make predictions.
Is this simulation still coming?
That's for sure.
It needs that time wich it needs to get done, such an hugh project has so many variables which need 100% attention to get the complete physical behavior as near as possible on real physical laws.
Also, if you can, why not do a sim of a pancaking collapse of a smaller building (eg: 30-40 storeys)? That would be easy and interesting.
I hate to keep bugging you (once a year) about this but how is the Twin Towers model going?
Things are moving forward, but there are many unknowns. I'm still testing how different triggers affect the collapse.

Hi is it possible for me to simulate a base isolated earthquake resistant building like the ones in Japan during a massive magnitude 9.0 earthquake in 2011 that shakes for 3-4 min, but only causes slight structural damage to it?
Sure, if you have the earthquake motion data. But you have to be careful with the numbers, the magnitude of 9 acted at the epicenter in the Pacific Ocean and not near a city. You would need the data close to the location of your building to get comparable results.
@@KaiKostack Thanks for your reply! I do think that how a building fare against earthquake shaking depends more on the mercalli intensity scale (MMI) from I (imperceptible) to XII (total destruction) than the earthquake magnitude, though the higher the magnitude the longer the shaking of that intensity (MMI) last, which may cause damage over time. In the case of the magnitude 9.0 2011 Tohoku earthquake in Japan with the epicenter just tens of kilometer east of Sendai, shaking the ground for up to 5 minutes with MMI around VII most earthquake resistant buildings survive with minor to no structural damage
We can expect this on the end of this month?
i think we are never going to see it. because i think when they started the simulation it wont fall :)
yeah i am sorry i think this whole thing is an inside job. they have to change some parameters to let it fall like it did in real life.
How is it going?
I'm in the phase of bringing everything together, towers and surrounding buildings. Since both towers are separate simulations but the debris of both are interacting with each other, combining the two is not that easy. But I'm close to a complete and successful run-through.
@@KaiKostack That's great. I'm very interested in how it turns out.

Why are there so many conspiracy theorists? Its with a reason right? They’re searching for the truth.. The World Trade Center was constructed with plane crashes in mind Boeing 707’s going at around 150 mph cruising speed, they were not built with Boeing 767-223ER’s in mind going at 400mph max speeds targeting pinpoint areas for collisions, and you don’t need fire to “melt steel beams” but when you have a constant fire burning near steel beams that reaches excessive heat those steel beams begin to weaken. After those steel beams weaken they no longer support the weight of the floors with the designated strength. As a result a collapse occurred. I may be right, I may be wrong but that is just my opinion.
I had no idea the entire area around the foot of the towers was constructed also! I always thought that was natural ground level. That complex really was vast!
It was. There is a parking garage down there.
