I like that they are giving him more versatility with his lightning. It shows growth as a character as well as a speedster

Despero is actually right about Thawne. He always finds a way to gets what he want and destroy flash. He's always done that. Though, Despero's plan in killing Thawne is a bit extreme. I'm not saying killing him is the best choice. But you know, as long as Thawne is alive. He will always come back. I will always love him coming back. I mean he is the best part of the show.
Funny thing is in the comics the only way thawne could be defeated was for the flash to stop hating him, barry decided enough was enough and forgave thawne and instead of killing him or bringing him to jail he locked thawne in the timeline and gave him the life he should have had as the curator for the flash museum telling the stories of barry to inspire the children of tommorow
Flash is a stupid pric for saving Reverse Flash’s life and saving him is one of the stupidest things the Flash has ever done. It just doesn’t make sense that Flash wants to save him, it’s so frustrating and it makes Flash look like a moron, not to mention the fact that this guy killed his mother and framed his father for the crime, which ruined his father’s life and he spent a long time in prison for a crime he did not commit, if this happened in real life, Flash wouldn’t save Reverse Flash’s life at all and if someone did that to my parents, there is no fucking way that I would save them.
Despero trying to kill Reverse Flash doesn’t make sense, because he is going to die anyway.

I'd rather have this more-accurate portrayal of Flash's actual powers through mediocre CGI than seeing Barry just punching at normal speeds. Much more watchable tbh, given its a CW show.

I agree. But the producers took a "progressive" approach with Barry since season one. I think that approach makes more sense. It's no different then someone who initially benches 200 lbs then a couple years later, he can bench 600lbs.

@@bilaliqbalbaig3509 I don’t see the issue with it. It looks and feels like the flash is really fighting this time in the cgi. Before it was really off putting. I can see the budget increase and focus on letting the flash be the flash.
The Flash is one of DC characters with the most powerful and versatile abilities due to the speedforce, when he shielded himself with the speedforce aura it made me so happy. I’m glad they had no fear to show this comic accurate speedforce defensive ability instead of only showing him do something that make him do something fast or do lightning attacks all the time.

@@Krousant Barry helped kill Devoe and Vandal Savage. I am convinced that they brought back Savage in Legends Season 1 only to clear Barry's conscious. Because Barry is a hypocrite telling people that killing is wrong. Yet he had the desire to kill zoom and let the timeline take its course why couldn't he do the same to Thawne? Thawne admits he will continue to be a danger to the flash if he let's him live. So why do it?

Holy shit! This fight is actually so god-tier that I just have to watch it TWICE! The CW has leveled up in the best way possible
I’ve seen a lot of people complain that the cg is worse, which I can agree with, everyone looks more rubbery and really uncanny. However I think what they’re using the cg to do has definitely improved. This fight felt a lot more kinetic than a lot of the fights we typically see, and I really like how the camera moves throughout the scene better, it makes it a lot more dynamic I think. Just something about this fight felt a lot more high energy than normal. The lightning trails being less erratic and more streamlined makes me think they used a time saving measure so for slow motion shots you wouldn’t need to do a frame by frame lightning flicker

As long as the writing is decent, I don't really mind the terrible CG, but I just can't help but notice that Flash in the CG looked kinda fat.
people who complains about CGI and use that argument to trash the show are just spoiled brats and thats cause of them that most movies today are all explosions and CGI and almost none character dev, no story, characters we can't care about...etc

I find it funny that Barry literally told him to take care of it himself, he is a time traveler (in the chronologically weirdest way) and he waits till AFTER they decide to save him to make a definitive stand on Thawne’s death, rather than doing what he could when Barry said “Fine you do it”

I know a lot of people hate the fight because it doesn't look photo-real but I just love it for the camera movements, the creativity when it comes to the use of his powers, the animation of the character, etc.
I was so excited to see they took their time to get the animation and CGI looking better than last season🔥

Sometimes the antagonist has different advantages that can gain them the upper hand. That’s how storytelling works. If the Flash just runs through every villain he came across there’d hardly be a story to tell. Why can’t ppl understand this?

He probably wasn’t fast enough or had a strong enough connection to the speed force to produce that much lightning. Just like how in the earlier Seasons he had to run to produce enough energy to shoot lightning but now he can do it standing still. This is the fastest the Flash has ever been and I love it👌🏾

Literally confirmed in the first episode of this season lol anyways there are much more to opponents than just speed when it comes to fighting. Come on man you should know this, it’s common sense. Not only does he have strength that rivals Kryptonians as stated by Caitlyn but his mental capabilities are off the charts, unlike any that Flash has fought before and I’m sure that allows him to, at the very least, try to keep up with Barry’s thought process, actions, and ultimately his speed. And even then they convey that Barry is still out speeding him with the mirages and the counters he makes against some of Despero’s attacks.
I understand some of the speed stuff is inconsistent but holy shit y’all act like every villain Flash goes up against are just sitting ducks. Faster doesn’t always automatically equal win. Talking about me raising my standards, but honestly I think it’s more about you opening your mind. Because if you did you’d realize something as simple as this
Caitlin basically said mach 5 in part 1 but then he accelerated to mach 20 with less then 10% of his speed think about the potential guys but obviously the writers don't want him world ending fast but the gold boots could be there way around that redirect the extra energy to go even faster then world ending speed without ending the world plus he reconnected to the positive speed force just as he opened the temporal Portal

i Like how Barry and his team didn't let Thawne die even tho they had every reason to. It shows that no matter how badly darkness affects us, we can always make a choice to not do bad things to others. It shows they are real Heroes.

Maybe so, but there are situations in which the most effective way to defeat the likes of Thawne once and for all is to sink to their level and kill them, even if you don't like it. In addition, Thawne will find a way to escape and regain his powers. Sometimes the only way to fight darkness is to be darkness.

compare this fight with the fight in season 7 when all the speedsters fought those godspeed clones. This CGI is way better than seeing cheap power ranger costumes run around fighting 90 percent in slow motion with practical effects. The CGI isn't even that bad anymore compared to the early seasons
