    I wasted a yr on my grow out bc I put toner on my hair and it became so dry I felt like I needed to make a short blunt cut. At least its all natural grey now. I wont ever do anymore color or products again. I love being grey haired old lady. :-)

    It looks great. I would personally cut it a few inches shorter with long layers, and the transition would be nearly complete. You'd look great with hair at clavicle length. Well you'd also look great with any length hair. It only needs to take 3 years if you want it to take three years.

    The gray brings your eyes and complexion out. I haven’t dyed my hair in 25 years. Thank goodness I now have a beautiful color of what it was originally but lighter blonde very late with about 20% gray which adds highlight almost looks like it has been highlighted throughout wish I could’ve got that when I was 30.

    Thank you for sharing your story! Ironic because we are about the same age and at about the same age. But I had thick curly hair, which I hated. I wanted long stick straight hair. So when I was about 13/14
    yrs old, I walked myself to the local drug store and bought a boxed hair straightener kit. But I left it on too long and burned my scalp! It took a few years for my poor hair to recover. Needless to say, I learned to appreciate and actually love my voluminous, curly hair!

    Wow, your natural gray hair looks amazing! It beautifully compliments your wonderful skin tone and gorgeous eyes. I haven't dyed my hair for twenty years. I'm now having my first gray hairs and I feel tempted to dye it, but having watched videos by strong and beautiful women such as yourself I've decided not to. My reasons for not dyeing my hair are ecological. Hair dyes have so many poisonous chemicals that are unhealthy, and pollute the water and the environment. It is best to be natural and truly love yourself. 💚

    Advice from someone who has been silver for a couple years..heat is silver hairs ENEMY!..I never use heat on mine other than the occasional blow dry.
    I did the butterfly cut and get the "Farah " look without any effort

    • @therenaissancewoman2080
      @therenaissancewoman2080  7 місяців тому +1

      That's great you managed to get your hair doing what you like. For the lack of body, like mine, that is poker straight, it needs some help to add volume for sure. I won't contradict what you mentioned about the heat. Yes, heat can certainly damage the hair. Used minimally it's been fine for my hair. Natural dry with curlers would be the alternative option, which I've tried and failed because those darn curls don't do exactly what you'd like them to do. So far I've not had any heat issues to my grey for the occasional times I've used the iron. Long hair certainly needs more care to make it last longer and keep looking good. ;)

In the meantime, wigs, scarfs, and hats can be another option that can be worked out to look very chic with an outfit. Experiment and discover all the possibilities.

    IF you see this comment, here's my thought process. Most of the women who look fabulous with silver or gray hair are NATURALLY BEAUTIFUL. Such as yourself.. gorgeous, icy blue or green eyes, which are stunning with shades of silver, gray or white hair. Beautiful features and youthful faces..no jowls or sagging, minimal wrinkles. How about the rest of us? No partner to love us, regardless of how we look, our workplace treating us like seniors ( I detest that word!), and, aren't we invisible enough? I've felt invisible since I was fifty or so, post menopause. No more male attention..gone! No one gives a flying fig about our "wisdom". That's why I'm still coloring, though I'm sick to death of it. "Getting older ain't for sissies". It's the "gift that keeps on taking". Just my opinion. But, good for you; it looks great on you. Rosemarie 🌹

    • @therenaissancewoman2080
      @therenaissancewoman2080  Рік тому +3

      I hear what you're saying Rosemarie. There are women whose grey hair just looks stunning no matter what, like you said, natural beauties. Thank you for the compliment but I too need to make the effort to look good. I want to encourage you that you too can revel in your natural beauty. I've had friends who have had thinning (balding) hair, or felt not as beautiful as they should feel. One gal, with full grey hair, who never wore makeup, allowed me to jazz her up with makeup, colour, and some style. When we were done she felt so beautiful. She was amazed. That's all she needed. Sometimes we just need to step away from the mirror and take another look at all the possibilities. Don't we all want to be cinderella's at the ball. We all have good days and bad days. Sometimes just taking the time to play dress up and makeup can make all the difference. I've had friends over the years who would make comments about themselves and how they didn't feel beautiful. When we explored what could be done with clothes, hair, makeup, a spa day, or just a freshening up, it makes all the difference. What it does is brighten your spirit up. When that happens we begin to shine and we attract others to ourselves. I would love to have a charm school to help women realize their potential. You should check out Advanced Style, and even some make-overs to also help inspire you. You need to value you first. Then the rest will fall into place.

    • @therenaissancewoman2080
      @therenaissancewoman2080  Рік тому

      You're right, souls are eternal. It's a beautiful thing when hearts are kind and there is no judgements on those who make their choices. Kindness is needed in this harsh world. It takes courage to stand out in what you believe and feel to be true or right. Class is not about wealth, prestige, or looks... it's about behaviour, being respectful towards others and showing kindness even when we have another view on matters. Most important of all is to be kind to yourself first, love yourself first, and then share it with others in the way that feels right for you.

There's so many stages to go through it's not just about growing out the grey. It's the whole psychological process and wardrobe / colour change as well. It's almost like a cocoon process. Soon will emerge the next beautiful stage.

Eventually I'll find the right brand. I think it's important to use a good conditioner to help keep it from going wild. But then after the 1. wash it was dry like hell... I told the hairdesser to not bleach over my already highlighted hair, but he did not really listen. Well i cut it 3 times since then and it gets much better. Now i just finished 5 month,
    but it just seems not to grow... do you have an idea that makes hair grow faster? I saw your's grew a lot in 1 year...

Glad to hear it's getting better for you. It feels good when you get to 5 months because you can really see the difference by then. As for my hair growing... I eat a pretty healthy diet. Lot's of fresh vegetables, fruits, and whole foods. Everyone is so different. Diet plays a big part for hair growth. I still have a long ways to go yet. The journey continues... stay tuned!
