Good test. I measured about the same amount of fuel in the same amount of time on my 4.0

That was a long time on just a quart. Great test Shawn.

Nice test Shawn, sometimes people think living off the grid on a generator is cheaper than being line locked....... Generally, thats not the case. It gets more efficient with a diesel generator, but not by much.

People also don't consider the oil has to be changed either. A couple of quarts every few days adds up!

I ave seen a couple of your Onan gen videos and I just got one myself. Im my generator days I had Lo L1 L2 L3 to connect the output wires to , with these RV units Its not as clear where to connect a manual says 1 black and 1 white but what about the Green ground, in an RV how it that one accounted for ? how would you connect the wires in the panel?

Good test Shawn. Very rough calculation but shows our energy bills are cheap. Running that for half a day will cost as much as my gas and electric for a month.

A lot of people bad mouth our utility company. I overhauled some large steam turbine generator sets and saw the prices of parts and the costs of the jobs. Truthfully, there is almost no way to match the reliability and reasonable cost of a large scale utility.

Just about all the generators I've ever used when under a load use about a gallon of gasoline an hour.

Do you have a Electric fuel pump hooked up to it

I used to get an hour a gallon under load.

Good deal, This was a no load engine economy test to see no load economy , As it is just as important as under load. Thanks for stopping by !

I don't have mine anymore as I sold it . But I would check the fuses on the front panel and make sure you have a good contact to ground and to the genset and battery . Hard to say without being there or seeing it .. But I bet it's something simple and if you need to use a tester and make sure there is power going to the contacts . Thanks !
