Those mopar spring hose clamps are better than most people think. They are designed to let you know when it's time to replace your hoses. When they start leaking it's time to replace the hoses. Tom Hoover, one of the original Ramcharger Drag racing team wrote an article about the hose clamps. Up until that time I threw the spring clamps away and replaced them with your ugly screw clamps.
amazing skills dude, also the plane and simple video with 0 glam and bam is what makes it even more awesome. Just realtime build and everybody is along for the ride seeing this build hit the road like a boss.
I love the ear tag on that nut. You make life simple with tricks like that. You need an air conditioned shop preferably big enough for 2 or 3 cars. I wonder if any one had made an offer on this car yet?
Your welding skills are phenomenal!! Those stainless welds do look like a machine did them, totally impressed. Keep up the awesome content, currently binge watching the blue charger series now.
great vid , i don't have patience for all the cutting . welding. so i installed TTI exhaust systems on my cars. their exhaust systems are nice and fairly priced and have all hardware to bolt to stock manifolds.
Chris, I have been following along on this Charger adventure and you are an amazing, talented and professional "car guy"! Keep it up and note the hearing safety tip down the page.
Don't worry so much about your wording you should have seen how the Old Trogledites in the day talked! Your a fricken Genius compared to most of them. We all just want to learn from the knowledge you have learned along the way of building all the Mopars you have! Topper
Love the videos. Keep em coming. She’s almost there! Not a whole lot more to go really. Little by little and you’ll be done before you know it. Those are some beautiful welds btw. Class A TIGgin’ right there man! 👍
awesome video, turquoise car looking sweeeet... Exhaust will be badd asss too, have fun at Dakota, but better make some mulah too lol, you must be gonna work on the Dart, see you on the next video
Whats going on brother awsome vids just started following my ki d style im 25 year autobdy tech n mech love old sch love torquis charger👍👍👍😁 maaannnnn she comed long way keep up good work
Old school tip.... Keep a piece of hard wood close when you TIG welding. Every Time you pause stick the tip in the wood while it's hot. Keeps the tip clean. Try it and tell me what you think. I weld allot of SS tubing.
I know editing video is probably not your favorite thing to do, but I will say you have a pretty good eye for it, your videos always roll along nicely. Also you get good camera angles and you can't beat that bright Vegas sun for lighting...keep up the good work!
3rd comment - I must be looking forward to these or sumthin'. LOL Great vid, can't wait to see that sucker cruisin'! PS - That chirp in the background inside your house at the beginning is a "low battery" alarm on the smoke detector/s. Just had that issue myself.
rock on... mine has a big old tripple core rad attached to a box fan.. ice water hoses dump in to a 50 gallon barrel.... it takes 8 bags of ice and two blocks to fill it and it will keep my shop at 70 on a one hundred degree day, to get my shop down to 60 i pour a couple of cups of salt in there
I'm thinking what about punching out the reverse lights in the valance and running the exhaust tips out through them like 70s Cuda style and then throwing a pair of 71 charger r/t bullet tips on. especially with the red flame-ish accent points inside of them,i think it'd look bad ass! sammy! ▪☆☆☆▪
that's what the exhaust shop did to my ford highboy. i spent so much money on new headers & glass pack mufflers then they routed 1 pipe under the transfer case & one above ;(
I'm pretty sure the filler neck grommet went the other way with the rounded side out, although it probably doesn't matter. Just replaced the tank on my Challenger and that's the way Inline tube said it goes in.
Happy 4th. You have a flag. It's also the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Hamel (4th July 1918 ) where American Soldiers first fought under the command of our Australian General, Sir John Monash and changed warfare forever. Lest We Forget.
Love the videos Man! I know you trying to keep them short, somewhere between 30 and 40 minutes, but it's all right if you go long man! I love seeing the work. I've watched this thing since you started it, and I'll tell you what, you have brought that car a lot farther than I ever dreamed that it could be. You keep up the good work Chris. By the way happy 4th!
This is the first episode I have watched in the same country as you dude! And I know realise why you don't get cars from florida! It's non stop rain ☔ wtf. The flight was an 9 hour bitch! Great video that rainbow 🌈 exhaust is art work man
@15:58 i see that the block where the bellhousing [below the starter] is broken? Chevy 350 are bad about breaking if you dont put the brace back on the starter to the side of the block.
Your inside and outside exhaust sleeves are reverse of the way they need to be welded. Fluid dynamics suggest to have the inside flange facing the rear of the car, not facing the engine. Reason being as the metal warms up it will curl inward due to the gasses flowing against the steel pipe in the inside of the joint. This reduces the efficiency of the engine. Had a '73 Satellite in shop class that would run for only five minutes due to the exhaust being shut from the sleeves being installed the way you're installing them. Took the exhaust system off, ran straight from the headers - problem solved. New exhaust with sleeves pointed in the correct way, happy owner..... Just sayin'....... It's your project! ;)
Hey Chris, don't worry too much about the editing...most of us at this point would watch you cutting toenails! she's getting sooo close!! When this is done which of the many do you start next.....?
seen the brake cleaner on bench. did u clean metal w it. and does it creat phosgene when u tig weld it. I does when it's arc welded. very toxic. let me know
damn dude you should seriously talk to Evaporust for sponsorship, they gave the youtube channel HandToolRescue a sponsorship, Im sure if you got ahold of em they would hook you up
Brain farts galore..... actually that's ok. It's normal in my opinion, were not looking for perfection in your speech. To me its the process, how you get there. Having fun watching you buddy, I just afraid that when Daisy is finish...... no more shop . Stay cool
I hope you're using hearing protection with that angle grinder. You don't want tinnitus in later life, trust me. And your pipe cutting tip was awesome. Oh and hot tip, don't share personal stuff about your relationship with the mrs, it can be potentially perceived by your partner as a breach of trust, and trust is a pivotal aspect of a solid relationship. Don't collude with strangers.
your a great craftsman!!! thats some top notch work, wow!!!!!!!! take care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

" I'm horrible with names- I just know how to do shit." My theme as well, but Chris, you really need to make shirts that have this on them. Lol!
Getting closer little by little. Nice work man. 👍🏼
Evaporust is amazing, I have used it on rusted engine cylinders and the results are unreal.
Love the videos. Keep em coming. She’s almost there! Not a whole lot more to go really. Little by little and you’ll be done before you know it. Those are some beautiful welds btw. Class A TIGgin’ right there man! 👍

I like that exhaust stuff. You do good work my friend
Amazing weld !!!
You need one of those transmission jacks that sits on top of a trolley jack. can be so versatile for lifting many things underneath cars!
good lookin welds there!
My smoke detector is dying as well. So I'm listening to both of ours lol.
I'm kind of partial to the NASCAR look of exhaust exit in front of the rear wheel. I also like the square wide squished tips.
Man I like your show man !,
Nice TIG welding on the SS.
I know editing video is probably not your favorite thing to do, but I will say you have a pretty good eye for it, your videos always roll along nicely. Also you get good camera angles and you can't beat that bright Vegas sun for lighting...keep up the good work!

Smoke detector needs a new battery.
We always just heated and bent a wrench to do the job
that's what the exhaust shop did to my ford highboy. i spent so much money on new headers & glass pack mufflers then they routed 1 pipe under the transfer case & one above ;(
"be a sexy f'''''''''''''' rainbow" haha you almost slipped.

The junkyard Chevelle was interesting.

Do you ever run across any 67,68,or 69 cuda fast backs, when looking for these cars? I would love to build one.

It's called a flag nut...for the exhaust manifold...

Would I get any kind of power gain or better sound from a x pipe on my 273 engine I just have straight pips ?
Joseph Burch u won't gain any power at stock hp levels. Will sound like it makes more power though
damn dude you should seriously talk to Evaporust for sponsorship, they gave the youtube channel HandToolRescue a sponsorship, Im sure if you got ahold of em they would hook you up
I live in Vegas too. Are you going to put catalytic converters on the 69? In NV all vehicles aged 1968 and newer require an emissions test.
Not required till 76
Cool! Hope it passes when you go to register it. Good luck.
Oh weld... :D
I use cheap vinegar (acetic acid) to derust my nuts LOL. It takes about 48hrs as my nuts are usually pretty rusty.
Chris I wish your body work on your charger was as good as your exhaust
Do you watch ROADKILL
Don't collude with strangers.
put a rubber band around the pipe before you mark it with your sharpie. This is a mcgyverdude original! LOL
