Bowie was my first concert. I was 4 or 5 years old when my mom took me to the Serious Moonlight tour at the Spectrum, I still vaguely remember it. 20 years later I returned the favor and took her to this show. Full circle.
Saw Bowie 3 times: New Haven, MSG (Diamond Dogs tour) & Dallas (Glass Spider tour with Frampton). Best entertainer ever. Way beyond plain old rock & roll.
My God, bursting with love (as always) for Jonesie... my mentor and a beautiful light who guided me through the chaos of life for 5 decades. When I was 8-yrs-old I clung to my 'Tiger Beat' magazine featuring the brilliant redhead with crazy teeth. 50 years later I'm watching this concert on UA-cam and crying over how much love and appreciate this phenomenonal person who touched my soul to its depths.
Totally agree, David has touched my soul for 40 years, not a day goes by without his music. He is so sadly missed, the universe isn’t the same without him.

Wow!! I could of met him maybe in 78 after the incredible show i witnessed. Back at his hotel on a beachfront hotel in Australasia, he was willing to talk to any wide-eyed fans in the House Bar. As word spread, we arrived just as security put up screens and blocked anyone else from entering. I was just 1 minute from meeting him in a high wired state from witnessing the show up close. How did you manage to get that rare chance to meet and talk? Were you working in a hotel maybe?
We did knot know how good we had it........ RIP Bowie. I saw this show and a few more on this tour. That was really the end of his touring and our chance to see him
An inspired performance; David was IN THE MOOD, I'll tell ya. My God, he looked so good, so happy, so relaxed, so jazzed. I saw him about six or so weeks before this performance, at the Wiltern Theatre in L.A. Best Bowie concert ever - and I went to nine of them between '74 and '04. How lucky were we to have seen this God of a Man, this master, this living legend perform before our very eyes. Gives me goosebumps. EXCELLENT video, btw. Thanks SO MUCH, markit aneight! I really appreciate it.

I've learned a lot these past few months listening to DB. I'm not so afraid of death. His interviews and music touched on death a lot. Maybe he'll be the official greeter in heaven. Dont think he was a christian, but by God, he was searching and he followed his heart. He just faced death head-on. Such courage. Always trying to do the right thing. I never really cared much for him, that is, until recently. Can't get enough now! :-)
@@rosemarymills1671 yes, end of summer 2004 on a festival in Germany during his concert not far from Hamburg in Germany. A very severe heart attack and even more. A friend of mine was a nurse in the hospital back in the days where they saved his life. But he never fully recovered to do concerts anymore. She was a fan but did not tell anything about his illness because she was a pro. But she described him as a humble and friendly person.
Great comments on Bowie and this concert! Phenomenal stage presence. Didn't realize this show was so close to his leaving us but this concert has been a favorite of mine. While I am still here to play - Any one have thoughts as to a better show than this one? Let me know what your favorite Bowie concerts are!
@@Katy-ye1zrIm a lifetime fan and have been to a huge amount of shows. From all of those, its the incredible, legendary 1978 Heroes/Isolar tour show that still remains the greatest show i will ever see. I dont live in the US or Europe or i would of seen him 20 times at least. I was blessed to see the 4 full world tours, 78 when i was 18, 1983, 87 and Reality 03. Wow! Wow! Sunday is a beauty and closing out with Slicky's beaut guitar solo morphing into Heathen's otherworldly guitar intro from Gerry. Markit, many thanks and congratulations. You and your one camera from a distance created the BEST video of this tour, including the official DVD. Bowie's on fire! Raw, unpolished, fun, just like the live experience. BRAVO!
Thank you VERY MUCH for this!!! I never got a chance to see David Bowie live so it's wonderful to be able to watch recorded videos of his concerts and live performances. This is SUPERB! David Bowie was amazing on stage (and off stage too, obviously). Thank you again for sharing!!!
Saw him at veterans stadium in 1987 when I was 14 , front row , glass spider tour . Only my second concert . Didn’t appreciate him then as much as I do now . Glad I got to experience it .
I remember he came to my town in the late 60s and stayed in a street near to me while he performed in clubs and pubs. I heard he was kicked out of a working mans club and a pub when he dressed up in women’s clothes and wore make up. I don’t know how true it was but it sounds right. Then in 1972 when I was 9 I got the rise and fall of ziggy stardust and the spiders from Mars. Then every album after that until ashes to ashes, big gap as didn’t like the new stuff and then Blackstar which was a return to his better artistic talent. It’s nice to hear the old stuff again.
This was Bowie's last tour. He cancelled the tail end due to a heart attack he suffered while on stage. Except for a few tv award shows Bowie never performed live again.
Gail is so good.... !! I saw her so often with him... - she found her wife, I'm still looking for ( a colored, would fit good to me, grin). I grew up with Bowie and call him my 'Dad' - love him for ever !!! My name is Vivian Hyde (and Hyde is cuz of hide in Let's Dance !). 🙂

It's a shame they didn't spend the money to do a professional video production(several cameras, soundboard , post production video editing etc) of this concert
Without sounding stupid but can anyone tell me what the two foot pedals on the floor beside is mic stand are for. I noticed him using them when he was singing Blue Jean. I thought maybe something like a guitar has but he wasn't playing anything. Just curious.. Also fantastic video!!!!! Thanks for uploading this!!

This was Bowie's last tour. He cancelled the tail end due to a heart attack he suffered while on stage. Except for a few tv award shows Bowie never performed live again.
yeah
Gail is so good.... !! I saw her so often with him... - she found her wife, I'm still looking for ( a colored, would fit good to me, grin). I grew up with Bowie and call him my 'Dad' - love him for ever !!! My name is Vivian Hyde (and Hyde is cuz of hide in Let's Dance !). 🙂
WTF, I saw Serious Moonlight and Sound and Vision tours in Detroit, and they sure weren't as jamming as this!
Anyway youre lucky af to get to seen at all. I wish

A nuclear star is different than cold fission. Our old Sun is slowly dying however our Earth's souling it's way to a new Holy energy of purist Light and Love. Secluded. Xo
It's a shame they didn't spend the money to do a professional video production(several cameras, soundboard , post production video editing etc) of this concert
um, anybody know who his trainer was or um, what his workout routine was? yeah, I'm just asking for a friend lol

I do know that at least one of them was for controlling the reverb on his vocal. Maybe one was for intensity and the other was for time...?
Likely to be a voice processor to add extra volume or delay .... like in a big hall ... In doubt its pitch correction ... could be adding voice doubling or extra EQ (treble/ middle / bass) ... I agree ... I sing & record Bowie covers on YT to remain sane on earth.
It doesn’t take much to entertain the savages in Philly

His performance seems “phoned in”.

It's not the lighting, it's the camera, great camera work though!
Ok you have a reason! What a beautiful tree! The color is wonderful! I have a question. What about the smell?? Probably the smell must like roses?? I love your work!!
