@@Mike-Eye thanks means a lot. One day ill have a dedicated computer but for now its just to share my view and also save these vids for when we come old lol
@@JayJBigIslandFishing hooked on your videos now. subbed. Camera work real nice bro. I just started shore casting and looking to those with skills so maybe I learn haha. Good job!
Awesome catch and entertaining vid! I have two related questions: 1 - how are you successful jigging in and around reefs without losing jigs, and 2 - how do you land fish that are outside the reef?
Glad you enjoyed the vid. Only thing I can think of when jigging in shallow reefs, either use a really light flutter/slow fall jig. For me the jig is able to cast past the reef depending where your fishing and the rest is up to the fish when coming in. For the 2nd question, a long leader helps, preferably an FG knot to allow you to run a longer leader then usual.
In my experience, most rod ratings are either over rated or underrated. This rod is spot on. It’s rated up to Pe4, which I run on that reel. I buy 300m spools of PE4 and the 8k size reel holds the whole line of spool. So 300M is tons of line for what I do. Plus you need to take inconsideration what size the stripper guide on the pole is. It makes a difference when you match the reel size to stripper guide( closest guide to reel) IMO.
@@vsonic86 very similar. You can do every retrieve that works for you with the buck tail, it will surely work with a jig. There’s are few jig styles also that are different and some work better with different retrieves. Start off with flutter jigs that sink slow so you snag less.

Nice catches! What size knob is on the gosa? Just got a 6k 🤙🏽
Honestly I’m not sure lol. 41mm or 44 I believe, cheap but good stuff gomex makes.

What size is that reel? And how long is that rod?
Hows it, thanks for watching. It’s an 11ft XXH assassin sierra paired with a 8k shimano stella. Fun combo
@@JayJBigIslandFishing why do you choose 8k with 11ft rode?
In my experience, most rod ratings are either over rated or underrated. This rod is spot on. It’s rated up to Pe4, which I run on that reel. @@JayJBigIslandFishing could you please how you use that jig? I normally use Bucktail. I never try that jig before.
