Fun fact: The Priest leading the service was the same priest who stayed on the sinking Stern to give comfort and assurance to the remaining survivors. 😊😊
His case is being taken for canonization.
"I don't imagine Jesus minds one bit." Very true!
We do know for a fact that the hymn "Eternal Father, Strong to Save" was sung onboard the Titanic on Sunday the 14th, however, unlike how it's portrayed in the movies, it was during a hymn-singing in second class in the evening. I believe Reverend Troutt mentions as such in the game "Titanic: Adventure Out of Time".
Here's a rather minor inaccuracy: In the 1997 film, the verses being sung were actually added to the hymn in the 1930s.
This is one of the rare occasions where SOS Titanic sounds the best.
When I saw the 1997 film for the first time, I thought the Sunday Service scene was a funeral scene.
(of course, that's how my then 11 year old mind percieved it at the time)
Props to the 1953 and 1996 versions for not having the 'For those in peril on the sea hymn in first class. But it's obvious that Cameron for his version stole the idea of the hymn being sung in first class from SOS Titanic (also with David Warner).
Only showing first class passengers.
