I'm not surprised the 1943 version omitted this particular storyline... :P
Maybe I'm dumb, but what do you think is the reason?
@@dogman15 The 1943 film is a propaganda film made by the n*zis. I don't think they'd be the type to portray a Jewish pair like the Straus' in a positive or heroic light....

@@dogman15 It's a German film made during WW2. Is that enough to connect the dots?
@@anttibjorklund1869 They didn't want to depict a German man choosing to stay on a sinking ship with his wife?
Here's an interesting fact: Nancy Nevinson (Ida Straus in "S.O.S. Titanic") also had a small role in "Raise the Titanic" the following year. She played the bartender at the pub owned by Titanic survivor Bigalow (Alec Guinness).
The fictional story of Romeo and Juliet may have come first but it can never compare to this very REAL story of love and loyalty. R.I.P Mr and Mrs Straus 😢😢😢
I just realised their names are different in a night to remember
In the 1953 film, Lifeboat 8 is depicted being boarded from A-Deck as Lifeboat 4 was in real life, but is also stated to be "the last lifeboat," instead of Collapsible D.
This film, partly because of the influence of the Hays Code, is comparatively tame for a _Titanic_ film, demonstrated when everyone left behind gives up trying to save themselves and sings a Christian hymn…including the Jewish Straus couple.
It’s not even lifeboat 8, if you watch the movie, the scene before shows the number of the lifeboat which is lifeboat 13
@@andiilham6227 Let's not forget that the majority of _Titanic_ movies have also played fast and loose with the order the lifeboats were launched.
Poor Straus couple
I think they were also in Titanic: The legend Goes on.
What it means to have a happy marriage. RIP Mr. and Mrs. Straus.
I wish my wife loved me that much.
I am sure she does, even if you do not think so
pretty sure they’re in In Nacht und Eis (1912) too…
Where? I was unable to find them
They Appear In Nacht Und Eis So Isidor Is A Man Who Is Old And Ida Is A Normal Tall Woman You Should Watch The Film With Those People's Scene Okay
@@obaidulhoquebhuiyan7095 they don't appear being offered a spot in a lifeboat and choosing to stay aboard, which is what this video is about
Not sure if you heard this one but you should check out titanic 1927 it’s actual name is east side west side
That's only inspired by Titanic it has no basis in portraying the actual disaster
Still, really interesting
