Growing up in the 80's I had the chalky candy cigarettes the only bubblegum one was the cigars also the hot tamales are like mike and ikes which were popular in the 80's and 90's same with good n plentys and a few others.

Thanks theraves! I was struggling to figure out what they were like and said 'jelly bean', but your Mike and Ike reference is perfect. That's much closer! And I can vividly remember me and a bunch of my 7 year old pals sitting around with those chalky, pure-sugar sticks hanging out of our mouths, feeling like a pack of wise guys. Good times! Thanks for the comment!

I grew up in the 80’s. We had the white stick cigarette candy but the tip of it was red so it looked like it was lit.

I grew up in the 60’s. We had the hard candy cigarettes and bubble gum ones. The bubble gum ones had powdered sugar on them and it looked like smoke.

White stick with a red tip like it was lit.

I googled a few of these because I was sure that some were newer. Hot Tamales we're made in the 50's. The Nik-l-Nips we're named that because they originally cost 5 cents (a Nickle) and you nip off the bottle top with you teeth.

Thanks for the info and the feedback caroline! I'm going to bring that to the Vintage Candy Company's attention, although I'm sure buried in their fine print will be some kind of discalimer for something like that. Regardless, it was fun and nauseating. :-) Thanks again for the comment!

I had both the bubble gum cigarettes and the white chalky ones. I remember them both well. I also remember chocolate flavored bubble gum. I can't remember who made that but I remember that and wish they never quit with them.

Thanks SJ! I do not remember ever having the bubblegum cigs, and as you could probably tell from my reaction to Dhani's description of them, I'm not sure how I feel about them. But, cest le vie! I also don't remember chocolate bubble gum. I'm sure it's the 50 years of perspective I now have, but I'm not sure Im a fan of that. Thanks again for the feedback!

We had both the white stick ones and the bubble gum ones. It was the 80's- it was all about excess, lol.

Same, I had both but the white ones were more common in the 90s

I had pretty much kicked the candy cig habit by the time I was 10, so by the late 70's I don't think I had ever even seen a bubble gum cc. I don't really feel like I missed out, but it's always good to have options!
