- This october, will mark the six year anniversary of my first video, which was a guitar cover of The Adventure by Angels and Airwaves. Most people who know me know this is my favourite song in the whole world! And I constantly try to recreate the sound Tom Delonge chose for this song on a weekly bases, so after five years I feel I'm getting closer, with that I thought a little video was in order.

FAQ!!!!!!
Hi everyone. I don't know why I haven't done this earlier. But oh well here we are. An FAQ to the questions I get asked most about this video. So if you plan on asking a question maybe check here before you do.
Q: GOT TABS?????
A: Nope! I have been playing this song on guitar since it came out, and I learnt it by ear and watching live videos of AVA playing it. That goes for all AVA related videos I’ve uploaded. So because of this I simply don't have any to give people! Maybe give it a go and see. It could help improve your skills.
Q: WHY DON’T I REPLY TO TABS AND GUITAR COMMENTS?
A: Imagine answering those questions fifty times, then another hundred ask the same questions.
Q: GUITAR, BLACK, WHY, HOW, CAN I HAVE IT?
A: So this guitar was something I bashed together years ago before the TD Epiphone was something you could get. All parts were bought from Ebay. The guitar body and neck is from a Westfield 335 hollow body. Unfortunately, Westfield went out of business in 2013. If you’re lucky you might find one on ebay. The pickup is the Dirty fingers pickup used by Tom in his signature guitars. And the various hardware parts are from random Ebay sellers. The paint job was done with normal hardware store spray paint. I used a matte black for the body and a gloss seal spray for the stripe, nothing expensive or paints that need an airgun and compressor. And no you can't have it it's mine!
Q: DELAY SETTINGS??????
A: I use software plug-in delays for my music, not pedals. So because of this I have the ability to lock the delay to the tempo of the song. So it's easier for me to get the correct time delay. Pedals may take some tweaking. I don't know I don’t own one. The delay settings used in this video are:
Song tempo:144
Delay 312ms
Feedback 20-30%
Mix 45-50%
Q: AMP SETTINGS?
A: Couldn't tell you what was used here. The video is 7 years old and I dont have the files anymore. But I can tell you having listened to the actual audio files for The Adventure. And I'm not talking about the rips on youtube. I mean the actual ones sent to Tom Lord Alge who mixed the album. The intro guitar and lead guitar are two very different tones. The lead has a decent amount of distortion and compression despite what it sounds like in the song and the intro guitar is softer with a lot of phaser.
Q: PHASER SETTINGS?
A: Again I don’t have the settings for this video anymore. But I usually have it set to a slower rate. Less than 40% depth and less than 50% mix.
Q: CAN I HAVE THE ACTUAL AUDIO FILES FOR THE ADVENTURE?
A: NO!

How did you fill the neck Pu cavity and the control knob holes dude?
Curios as to what plug in softare you use, i use bais fx 2 just curious if it would similar to your plug in ?
@@obscuresavior2802 Hi so I use Guitar Rig for my amp emulators which can be run as a plugin in protools or as a standalone program. And a wide variety of plugins for pro tools when it comes to effects like delays, phasers etc...
This is still easily the best cover of this song on UA-cam. It's always killed me that Tom never played the part at 1:34 again anywhere else in the song - it's such a cool sound coming out of previous melody part.
Slow that part down to .75 in the playback setting. A slow down tempo version of this song would be glorious.

just wanted to say i am very very critical when it comes to this song, there are so many bad covers of this song because they butcher the intro but my god that intro was the best intro iv'e seen in ages and quite possibly the best altogether, it gave me chills it was so good, you have earned a sub and my respect

Dude that song is all about the intro. It's what pulls you into the dream that is the song. I'm sure you know of those moments when you're just playing and you enter an almost trance like - dream like state. You play and you just become one with instrument. You may not remember it all or maybe you do but when it's over it's like waking up from a dream to me. Absolutely amazing performance. It is one of my favorite songs ever as well.

JohnDuctual Master To be honest he usually just goes through the 1-6 and 2-6 major scales and finds a rhythm of notes he likes. The Gift and the adventure riffs are perfect examples. I didn't know if you cared for the real answer but here you go.

2020 and i can't get enought of this song, AVA is not the most popular band, but no doubt about the fact that we are one of the stongest fan base, and this song just linked us all to each other in a time or another. Thank you very much for the job you did on this cover. (hope that you can understand my english cause...I'm french)
