How to DIY Desert Cactus Terrarium Dome Turtle Polymer Clay Resin Tutorial

- Hey everyone! Today I have video showing you how to make/craft/diy this cute/kawaii little turtle out of polymer clay with a glass dome terrarium filled with UV resin, cactus/cacti and star sand to mimic the desert ( I ran out of regular sand).
Glass dome and resin used from Miniature Sweets
You will need polymer clay: an oven bake clay that hardens once baked according to instructions. Commons brands I use are fimo, sculpey and premo. Bought from Michaels, Hobby Lobby or Joanns or Amazon. Air dry clay works just as well.
Resin: a compound that is time curing into a hardened plastic material. I used UV resin, but you may also use 2 Part resin. Link to UV resin here: bit.ly/2xCD2DR

For an arctic theme, you should make it like a snow globe with liquid instead of cured resin inside.
Maybe you could make a terrarium for each of the seasons?

This is so darn cute, and I might attempt to try this for my youngest daughter, who loves turtles, and misses her desert roots (she was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ) I have those domes too, but I'm thinking mine have larger holes in them. One can hope! Thank you for all you do!

So cute. Out of the 2 my favorite is the ocean themed one simply because I love the ocean more. But green is my favorite color so this one catches my attention a lot.

At first I thought it was an older video from your short turtle phase ( turtle pool, turtle terrarium, square turtle [box turtle], and others) I love turtles ,if you can't tell from my whole account name. One suggestion is that you could do a bunch of mini series with different animals so that people can watch you make their personal favorite animal
Sorry for my bad English. A bit of autocorrect but it's mainly because I'm learning anouther language right now (Turkish) and switching back to english after long lessons is a little confusing
You could make a little coral reef one! Instead of a turtle maybe you could make a whale one instead? That would be so cool! Little fishies could be added slowly with each layer of resin so it looks like they’re swimming around. You might even add a little octopus or eel. Actually...that glass bowl could make a cool octopus head!

could you try putting activated glow stick stuff in uv resin n cure it to see if the glow stuff keeps glowing forever or not?

Question: Will the polymer clay actually stick to the little glass ball once baked? or did you glue the pieces of clay onto the glass ball after baking and it wasn't shown?

I was wondering, did you use UV resin to glue on the arms or bake it as is because there is no way the clay is going to stick to the glass dome, its going to pop right off. Same w the eyes and mouth, they need polymer clay glue like 'Sculpey bake and bond' hope that helps you or anyone
for some reason, they stuck onto the glass this time without any kind of resin or glue, usually I super glue everything onto it.
