Early in this video there is either 1951 or early 1952 Black VW split window Bug with one taillight resemble of "Paul Pope's nose" with "California" pop out rear side windows. It must be an aftermarket accessory. Usually pop out rear side windows are common in the 1965-1970 VW Beetles.
That uni-body Ford your contact was drivin is a seriously badass rig....and wait wait wait WAIT, @ 5:03 the rear tires on his tow rig look to be Armstrong Tru-Tracs!! Wow, I haven't seen those tires since I was a kid and they were on my Dad's Kaiser Cj-5 Renegade I Jeep that he used to drag race at Pismo Beach, Calif...damn this is just cool...
Wow, Chris! I envy you, dude. Being around all those spare parts and seeing all those VW like you were, would've made me feel like in a toy store. You kept your excitement low profiled, I suppose...
wish you could do a video on how to replace the outer seals and latches on 66 and later rear quarter popouts. ive got an original pair I want to put into my 1970 beetle show car. its much needed. thanks!
Of course, any vintage VW-phile UA-camr would know that that white oval window bug at 3:45 has incorrect taillights ('62-'67) and incorrect rear deck lid and license plate light ('58-'63).
Hey Chris! I love all of your videos and they will help me out a lot when I get me car back, I currently have my first car, a 1967 beetle in for paint, going Ruby Red L456 two tone with Pearl white L87. I have striped it completely down to a rolling shell (no steering column, pedals, parking break, master cylinder, wiring loom, motor is out, etc.) I was wondering how fast is it possible to get it put back together and drivable?, I have never driven it and am super exited to get it on the rode!, ill be working on it basically 24/7! Thank you
so we have a mid 60s bug thats had a truck bed put on it thats been sitting in a shed at our cabin since 1989. we are taking it home on july 27 this summer, and I thought i should ask, what do i do first?
I started wondering about the music when it began to remind me of "Lowrider," by Eric Burdon, a Latino L.A. thing, thinking okay, a German car in the American west. Wish I was there.
Love Corvairs AND although they are just starting to climb in value a bit, they are one of the best cars for the collector on a budget because they can be practical transportation in the modern era. $10,000 or less with which to buy a Corvair is all the money you should need. Also, air cooled vehicles are best at lying dormant without engine issues cropping up.
Howzit Chris, Did you buy any or was it to ruff to put any money into it? Great video, I'd love to go on road trips like that. To bad for me I live on an island. Keep up the great work. Aloha!

I love the guys yard! I could spend days in a place like that.
You are the Best man you made my day ……
Ah thats great man! I appreciate that. =)
"So this is a 53 right" "THIS IS A BARN FIND" HAHAHA
Not only did he have some cool v-dubs, he was driving one of the rare Ford uni-body trucks.
He should be Pro Streeting that truck.
hurts to see those other ovals cut up and just lying there! man oh man!
it hurts me too
A lovely part of the world.
Just amazing but the only split I can afford is a diecast it's a beauty, but I can't cruise in it😭
Like to see a 1973 rear fenders with "elephant footprint" taillights fitted on the 1950 VW Bug. Can they do that?
Oh gosh! No way, why do you want to do that? =oP
Wow, Chris! I envy you, dude. Being around all those spare parts and seeing all those VW like you were, would've made me feel like in a toy store. You kept your excitement low profiled, I suppose...
Well, I have been around the bush and have see stashes like this, maybe it is a poker face? haha
Chris Vallone Then remind me to never play poker against you... X'D
FoxMcCloud12000
Ah it is all good man! I love you guys!
The hood on the '53' looks like the color of one that might be a 70s Beetle. I had a 71 Super Beetle that was that light color blue.
Cool find man

I started wondering about the music when it began to remind me of "Lowrider,"
by Eric Burdon, a Latino L.A. thing, thinking okay, a German car in the American west.
Wish I was there.
I've been into vws since the late 70s here in South Dakota. and I still haven't seen a split window!! ugh.
What is more rare split window or ova, window
split for sure.
As cool as they both are (split and oval) I'd like to know about the white Corvair in the background of one of the shots... 63'? 64?

So, did you pick either one of them up???
If you go west on highway 84 about +/- 3000 miles, then drive south on highway 5 about 42 miles you will get to my house and leave the bugs here.
where is part 2
I owned a early 53 convertible. Sold it in 2000. 49000 original miles. Wish I didn't sell her.
Just bought a 53 ragtop. Insane. I see some sheet metal I might need.
Howzit Chris,
Did you buy any or was it to ruff to put any money into it?
Great video, I'd love to go on road trips like that. To bad for me I live on an island. Keep up the great work. Aloha!
We are working on the deals as we speak. The 53 is super solid, just missing many components to it.
I love VW beetles and I have a vw beetle car.

+Kyndra Pollack Oh Nice, what's the name?
Where is the follow up video??
I can’t find it!
@@jameswestervelt4263 these guys died, so I was never able to get back there.
That’s too bad; it would have been interesting to see what happened to those Beetles.
BTW, one of the wrong parts on that split window was the front fenders having newer turn signals on them!
@@jameswestervelt4263 yep. Tough finding splits with correct parts these days.
Nice.
by the way Chris Vallone we are going to buy 75" 1200j vw beetle green for 5000 EUROS
5:39 wrong hood,wrong indicators
mix match panels, later doors, it has wing windows. I want it I want it I want it!
It has correct doors and vent windows, this is a zwitter split.
