Here is a Car Collection I visited in upstate NY for a client of mine, part of our "Find-A-BuG" program www.classicvwb...
We went to check out a 1953 Oval Standard Beetle for this client, but we were also presented with some other toys this seller had as well. Very COOL place.

GOD bless this guy for keeping those gems, love those 'pick-ups' .. Best VW for a 'driver' would be about 1968-1974 with much more power. My 1st car was a 61 with the 40 hp and i think 1st year for fully synchro trans.

I have a question if you don't mind...I see that on the standard the headliner is just in the center...if I wanted my 68 to have a backdated look to that vibe could I do my headliner the same....or is it just a different setup 🤔
You can do it, I did it in a 64. You would have to go with sewfine tho and tell them what your intentions are.
