Sorry, your directions are inaccurate. There is a small detent in light cover towards windshield that let's you use small screwdriver to pry loose from hinge and then remove cover. You risk breaking lens and or tab that presses switch to turn lights on or off if done your way.
I did change the back bulbs and it was just as simple. I did not disconnect anything, did not have to wire or re-wire anything. I simply pried open the cover, used the tool to pop out the factory bulb and very easily snapped in the LED bulbs. It was just as easy changing the rear bulbs as it was the front bulbs. You simply remove the cover, they pop off just like the map light.cover.
I followed your instructions and it turned out perfect I was going to have someone else do this for me so when I saw your video I did it myself and it was a breeze thank you for your time and Publishing this awesome instructional video now let's see if I can change the ones in the back of my car.

Funny you should ask that, I haven't been brave enough to try to change those. I THINK they just pull straight down but I haven't tried very hard to do it. The Blue map lights totally overpower those little white lights in the back. You can't even tell they're there unless you make an effort to look up at them. I probably won't change them out because you don't really notice them.

So, I have a 3013 dodge advenger sxt. I want to change the interior dome lights. I know how remove compartment but when it come to the bulb it self I’m running into a problem. It round and I’m not sure how to remove the bulb from that point . It’s my first time. I don’t want to break anything. Help!!!!
Sorry, I just saw this question. I really don't remember the size of the bulb (it was a long time ago) but they're even easier to find now than ever. Search on Amazon or eBay LED map light bulb Dodge Challenger (or Honda Civic, whatever). Ther e are a lot more choices and cheaper prices than there used to be. Thanks.
No, I've been asked that a lot. Look down through the comments, I recently had someone tell me they did it. They might be able to give you some tips. I've never tried to do the back seat lights.
so I did this in my charger and there was the heat shield but the little chrome looking piece behind the bulb was missing on both sides and now only one side works I did flip it around and nothing but when I switched the bulbs around to make sure it worked they both lit up on one side any ideas
+Greg Not sure what's going on there. Both bulbs are good, you might have a loose wire on the side that's not working. I would try putting the original bulb back in the side that's not working. If that bulb doesn't work, you know there's a problem with that socket. If it does work, the new bulbs just may not be making contact. Sometimes the LED bulbs are fussy about making contact. Good luck, hope you figure it out.
hanks for the insight, been thinking about doing small things to my challenger that are cost efficient and I can do on my own. I have a darker grey 2011 challenger se. You said LED lights don't supply heat so do we really have to throw away the heat sheild? Also, what about the other smaller lights in the back seat. It would be odd to change the fronts but not the back. Anyway, if there is an easy way to change the back lights in the ceiling, let me know
Melvin Williams The LED lights are totally cool (both meanings) they do not make any heat. I saved my heat shields but you don't need them with LEDs. I kept them just in case I ever wanted to switch back or something. It's really easy to add the LEDs, just be careful not to damage the cover when you remove it. Thanks for the comment!...
Melvin Williams I didn't see the part about the back lights. I didn't change mine because I didn't want to risk messing them up, but you really don't notice because the blue lights overpower them. You could cover them with a colored film or paint the covers even, if you wanted to. Just to clarify about the heat shields, you can leave them in if you want but they are not needed with LEDs and I think you get a brighter light without them.

I got the driver's side done with no problem cover went back on real easy. Passenger side not so much. For the life of me I cannot get the cover to go back on it's not crack or broken anywhere it just simply won't go back on. I can't get the two pins to hook in the back.

I was reading that you'd have to drop the headliner in order to get at those, it apparently they're LED from what another Challenger owner told me. It's probably not worth messing up the headliner.
Hey, thanks for the video, for the 2015 it's not that easy to get them out by prying from the front if at all.... it's much easier using a small flat head and prying off the back outside u shaped hinges.
I like the color of the LED bulbs that you have put in your charger. I wish you could remember who you ordered them through on ebay. There are MANY different sites to order bulbs and I can't find anyone local to order them through. Are the reading lamp bulbs in the back seat the same as the map lights? Well, thank you for replying. I found some lights from ebay that will possibly work out. It is a package of six with 12Led lights. From your video I can see how much difference there is in color. I have the side door pockets and cup holders are in blue when the headlights come on and this will be a great add on. Thank you again for replying!
A messed around with it a bit and you can pop off the plastic around them but there's no way to get to the bulbs. They are actually in between the material and the metal of the roof

I got them from eBay. They are much cheaper that way. I think they were $8 for the two of them. I don't remember the seller, just get them from someone who has a good feedback record. Thousands of sellers on eBay.
It's been a while, I don't remember the size number but I found the LEDs on eBay by searching for Challenger map light LED. You can find the info on eBay and then buy the bulbs wherever you want. Sorry, I don't have a video for the license plate bulbs.
Karan Maggon Ouch, I'm sure you can get them from a Dodge dealer for a price. I would check out eBay and Amazon. They usually have everything cheaper. If all else fails you might find it from a junk yard from a wrecked car.

If you have a moon roof, you can get at them - but it's going to take an understanding of electronics that I don't have. There is info and pics online of others that attempted it. My aftermarket stereo install place done it before and did it for me ( changed to green ) for only $75.00

My next project is halo lights for my hd headlights. Heard you could add them to the headlights you already have. Guess will have to see.
