Agree with your analysis. I have watched this performance probably 50 times or more and every time gives me the goosebumps, because she sings with her heart, passion and feeling. Watching her journey in the voice, she is humble and and genuine person.

All of us here in Australia who watched her just adored her, heard her very disadvantaged backstory, she’s raised her little sisters almost single handedly, seeing them jumping up and down is just beautiful

Watching Bella on The Voice Australia was one of those 'moments' for me. I remember where I was, exactly what I was doing (serving up dinner - which I stopped doing when I heard her) and I remember crying with joy. Absolutely amazing ❤❤❤❤

I'm guessing you have already seen it, but the duet between her and Guy, her coach, in the final is also just a little bit spesh! : )

You picked up on Bella's joy, her comfort and peace -- all qualities of the Spirit. Indeed she has sung in Hillsong Church in Australia for some years. There is a UA-cam clip of her singing How Great Thou Art that really showcases her voice. Besides her bell-like voice, pun intended, she seems to put ego and intent "to win" aside, releasing a purity of spirit and sound into the atmosphere.

I think this video showed up in my feed because I’ve watched her blind audition so many times. The qualities you identified just make it such an absolute pleasure to return to. She mentions that she’s a vocal teacher at her church, and I imagine it would be amazing to have her as a teacher, someone who has that joy and skill combined.

I heard Bella's beautiful voice for the first time only two days ago, and I'm glad I watched your take on her performance. I'm not a great fan of how some singers overuse (my opinion) vibrato, and yet I absolutely loved her. When learning to play the piano as a child, I was told I had nearly pitch perfect hearing. Bella's addition of the runs to this song not only makes it her version, as you pointed out, but it demonstrates her incredible ability to control her voice. These runs are my favorite part.

This was great, thank you very much!
I had the opportunity to see her live last year and it was such an intimate experience, she really moves you with her voice. Had goosebumps and all the feels, everything in between. A true gem, no one like this kind of vocal calibre.
I have a music channel myself, been performing since I was young and have made a couple of attempts at her songs, Higher and now Small Things. She really is an inspiration to me, might be a little bit obsessed with her songs! 😅
And also, really insightful feedback as you’re watching - I feel like I do some of these things each time I sing… just don’t think about it! Always practicing and exploring new dynamics and strategies… great video, thank you very much!!

It makes me run along your reaction videos, and I wonder how can you not yet react to 2 others wondergirls, Diana Ankudinova (try "Rechenka" and "Cant help falling in love with you") and Angelina Jordan ("Song for A" "I put a spell on you", and "Bohemian Rapsody"). I want to listen your opinions about them.

I know nothing about voice so I've learned a lot by watching this. I want to know what is preventing Bella from becoming a meteoric singer like Adele? Her voice is rare. Jordan Smith was another great singer on The Voice that has yet to become a superstar. Why? What needs to happen with these singers? Why don't they break through the glass ceiling like a Beyonce or Taylor Swift? My own uneducated opinion is that it has to do with songwriting. If great, "authentically original" music is written for these artists, it doesn't matter how technically great their voices are. I saw a documentary on Patsy Cline. What I was amazed by was how much she loved the upbeat doo-wop pedestrian style of music. She didn't like singing torch songs but her music producers knew that it was these songs that were the zeitgeist moment in music history. It was her music producers and song writers who coaxed her into singing the great ballads like, "Crazy" and "I Fall to Pieces." I don't know if Bella is capable of writing her own original music. To be hawkish, I doubt it. It's why she and other great singers like Jordan Smith fail. Bella's voice is angelic but, like a lot of great singers, she needs to break through the glass ceiling and make great original music too. So few do.

@@USAHistoryInAFlash Yep, in a way, the songwriter is more important than the singer. Would Billy Eilish be who she is without Finneas? I doubt it. Billy's voice is terrific but Finneas is the genius. The same thing happened with Karen Carpenter and her brother, Richard Carpenter. Venturing into other territory, the songwriting of Radiohead and Tool were totally original. It's not easy to do after the likes of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. It's the songwriting, people!
