I could spend weeks walking around old junk yards like this. Thanks for saving these old cars and trucks. It just blows my mind at the quality of Amercian workmanship back in the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60, and into the 70s as compared to the junk we produce today or import from China.
Even in 2023, vintage Detroit Iron is still being found everywhere and everyday. Awhile back, I developed a soft spot for old International trucks like the pickup at 49:31.
As a kid I loved wandering around the old abandoned cars at a barn where my uncle worked on his 1952 Ford Early Model stock car. Salvage yard is a better, more appropriate name. Love following around with you.
Great look at some old gems! Surprised to see how nice many of them are for here in South Dakota. Miss the days when you could easily wonder through a junkyard just to look and day dream. Thanks for sharing

That would kind of defeat the purpose of us moving to this area to find stuff.. lol.. If you actually want to buy something you can let us know what it is and we can see what we can do..
Lol. I’m kirk(66) in Frederick Maryland. My dad was a autobody man who walk this place with his Two teenage sons in the 70’s. We were looking for parts. I’m one of the teenage sons. It sure is a small world
This is just epic! We no longer have yards like this in the UK, as the government made it almost impossible to own scrapyards, without all vehicles being stood on concrete (to stop oils polluting the soil).. as such many of them closed down and 1000’s of vehicles went to the crusher.. 😢 You need to do some “will it start?” Videos!
Yes I love places like this! We have done a couple will it runs on a Chevy coe and a 59 Apache of you check our other videos.. We will be doing more on these vehicles as well.. Thanks for watching!
Yes he filmed a couple weeks after we did.. We were told by the owner of the vehicles that he had over 1k and I believe him as they were spread all over the place.. I own 250 cars and our yard is a drop in the bucket to this place.. You can also see our yard on Ryan's or our channel..
Imagine if a group of fabriacators, engine specialists, and automotive body builders ganged up, and restores these vehicles... It would be very very interesting...
Yes that is how we find most of our old stuff as the people that bought a new 1940 Ford died years ago already so you need to find guys that stockpiled the stuff and now they are selling.
Its such a shame most of these will go to the crusher. There is not currently an intact generation with marbles and the kahunas to drag this old iron out for total restoration the way the previous generations were. There are a few guys (and gals) that were raised close to a father or grandfather or uncle who was a car guy and that was a win for old iron. I started with a 1938 Desoto 2-door sedan in 1967. It was in pretty bad shape to start. My last one was a 1980 ford f-100 l bought sitting in a field. It was in terrible shape. Ive been driving it since 2005.
Cool old Michigan crane. Or was that a 'steam shovel' ? I grew up 10 miles from where that was made. The close-up of the plaque in the thumbnail is what caught my eye, and made me click on this video. Enjoying the tour so far but I'll have to finish up watching the second half tomorrow. Pretty surprised to see four 1960 Oldsmobiles in there. Something about that year Olds and Pontiacs are seldom seen. By comparison, 1960 Chevrolets and Buicks are quite common.
The first Volkswagen was called a Squareback, the cars had a pancake VW/Porsche engine, there was a matching Fastback model which had a sloping back, these two cars were original SUV shaped cars well before their time, about fifty years ago.
Could we just ever imagine putting all these vehicles from this video and putting them into a game like a GTA or some sort of driving simulation game where they are all perfect condition like they are straight out of the factory or something? That would be one thing i would imagine of course. Maybe if i get my future games called Simulife (which is like a sandbox game like GMod but different) and Become Fumo: Fumo City (a GTA inspired game of that one Fumo game called Become Fumo) put into development in the future, I could have all those 1,000's of classics from this video in the games as vehicles that come in the game or as mods or something like that! Could you guys just imagine something like that? That would be cool of course if not gonna lie!
walks by with barley a notice of several classic cars to look over closely at some trucks even spent time looking over a cement truck and ignoring the 67 ranchero. You can of coarse tell his main interest is trucks. I like classic trucks too but come on, review the classic cars too.
Man, plenty of worthy material in there!! Thanks for posting this - IF I may ask, what's the best way to get in touch with you about something specific here?? Thx in advance.
I did this video last summer but I will be headed back up there this spring so if you see something specific in the video I can get more info.. I think i show just about every vehicle in the place in this video..
At an hour and 19 minutes do you know what year the Honda Civic is? Is it a EB11200cc or a CVCC engine? Looking for a 1976 1200 Civic with automatic. Thanks

Sorry, as a car guy for 51 years, when you video an old salvage yard....quickly pass up 4 doors! 95% of people don't care!!! 2nd, old 3/4 ton or bigger are not worth the time!!! Tractor junk is still junk! Your shirt say's antiques, please research your automotive knowledge. You may have passed up rare cars or very hard to find options that restorers would pay big money for and you ignored those cars!!! SAD!!!
