I was born at Kingston Hospital in December '57....2.5 years later my family split to Australia.
So awesome to see the town of my birth and learn a little of its history. Thanks 4 the upload

I love all your videos Marq but I really loved this one! What a fascinating place steeped in history. I've never been but now I want to.
It was so nice to see the church so busy with people doing this and that, and seeing those stunning stained glass windows in there too.
Sitting by the river daydreaming and 'taking in the vibe' is right up my street too. I could sit there for hours; it was so pretty with the boats, ducks and the bridge with all those beautiful flowers.
Your videos inspire me and one day I'm going to get this good!
Now I'm going to watch it again 🥰

Ive cycled the Thames path years and years ago. I must do it again. You can do Windsor Staines and Hampton Court along it around that area.

@@michaelwhite8031 I definitely want to visit here and have a walk. Will have to go by train so I’m going to check out the route 🥰

    • @michaelwhite8031

You can get the train there directly from Waterloo or probably from Victoria and change at Clapham Junction. If you feel energetic you could walk beside the riverbank to Hampton Court and get the train from there. The White Hart is a nice place to have lunch.

The walk to Hampton Court would be from Kingston Lynn not London lol :)

An excellent brief history of Kingston, a lovely place to visit (and shop.) Athelstan has always been my favourite English monarch. (If you are allowed to have favourites these days!)

Interesting to learn some history about Kingston, thanks for taking the time to share this. Lovely walk, some fine trees ,pub lunch and the Thames, what more could you ask for? The vibe of a place certainly is worth taking in 👍🏻

    Kingston is a lovely place.
I think you'll like this. Take a boat trip from Kew which goes through Kingston and ends up at Hampton Court palace. Takes about 3 hours, but worth it.

Nothing like going back to your roots! I also love that stretch along the Thames and to Richmond. Lovely to see the Coronation Stone again after too many years! Nice one, Marq, as usual.

I stayed here in late September, such a beautiful friendly great place to stay, nice views , walks , plenty of restaurants and shops to look around ,, it felt so safe to walk around day and night time , I unfortunately had to come home a day early because of chronic tooth ache , I will go back next year in July/August when the weather is a bit warmer 👍

There are still remains from the old bridge from the Anglo-Saxons, it's in Fusebox, near The Bishop

Who knew Kingston was where England started! There was a lot going on in that church simultaneously! The cars under the bridge were strange. But all very interesting.

I didn't know Kingston had that much history. I count Wolverhampton at the battle of Tettenhall s the place where England was founded but I am biased.

I had to make similar choice. I decided St. Margarets (lies between Richmond and Twickenham, and just down the road from Kingston and Teddington). Love it around here!

Very enjoyable video. Have been to Kingston but only when young and only for shopping! Bentalls! Bet it’s gone now. Lovely floral displays and Thames! Helps when the sun shines. Don’t ever remember about the stone- a lot of history. Just to say I didn’t notice a change in the quality of the video despite you not having your bigger camera.
