Josh Clayton was a good friend of mine and we buried him on my birthday which is tomorrow.. thanks for posting this sir! What happened was that Josh Clayton passed from testicular cancer 😞
This is one of my all time favorite songs of the era and also been trying to figure out how to play, stumbled across this and make way more sense than the way I was trying in standard tuning. Thank you!
hey thanks for doing this. You know, most of the listens on your cover of this song ? That was me ! I love this song , ive been playing along , just not in drop D
Incredibly under appreciated song. One of my all time favs. Great lesson. Best one on UA-cam. Great tone on u LP. Before seeing u on this great vid, if I had bumped into u at the grocery, u d b the last guy I would peg for a TSD Master Sensei lol.
Don’t forget Rose colored glasses. That’s the second best song on that album. I wore that album out and I had to buy another one. The whole album is awesome! I bought it when it first came out. This song is so much fun to play on the guitar.
Thank you!!! I have been playing this song wrong for longer than i would like to admit (20+) and never realized the Drop D - it all makes sense and sounds right. ]
Nice job Frankie! Two things: What patch are you using on the Helix for this song? And, k had to watch this video a couple times because I kept watching your acoustic sway in the background. 🤣
This an excellent tutorial Frankie! Many thanks. I have a question regarding the tapped harmonic intro. When I listen to the song I hear it start with the D6 note but then it sounds like he also starts with a slightly different note a few times as well. It sounds slightly lower to me than the D6. Am I imagining this?
think the songwriter/singer/guitarist died of cancer is why it stopped after the second album, some of the other guys in the band went on to work in other ways in the music business

This is way underrated but I’m glad you’re the first one who pops up when I search for a guitar lesson!
I didn't know about this band in the '90s, they only recently came up in my Spotify recommendations... This is such a fun song to play.
Thank you. Great tutorial I love this song
