Would have liked to see the block cleaned and painted, but I appreciate the videos more- so good job! Makes me nostalgic for my 1st small block build.
Good show
Love the video!!
Total Seal, worlds best piston ring manufacturer, suggests you use WD-40 to lube the cylinder walls before installing pistons.
Can't wait I'm in a 327 build now with some dome pistons can't wait to here yours run then all get an idea of what mine will be love yer show!
You guys are a more shadetree Freiburger and Dulcich, Its great!
Oh I would love to have an engine dyno
Really loving these short videos. Keep it up 👍
Building ur own dino will b cool to watch
Love your videos
Might have splurged on new rod bolts, small journal rods have tiny bolts. They break, ask me how I know!
Yes they do 👍good advice!
Nice job!!!!!
When you break the glaze on a cylinder like that, use a blade hone. A dingle ball gives a trapezoidal shape to the bore. Don’t take my word for it. Take a look at Uncle Tony’s Garage. He’s been building budget engines and full race engines since the 70s. I think he explains this in Project Bottle Rocket series of videos.
That guy takes a lot of flack but he’s forgotten more today than I’ll likely ever know about building engines. I love his stuff even if he is all over the place
Dude I could’ve SWORN y’all’s name was Notrodgarage wtf am I dreaming?
Not sure I understand why you didn't run the lighter weight pistons & pins they help spin the engine up RPM's. Heavier pistons and pins put more stress on the rods.
We are using the lighter pistons. In fact they're even lighter than the first set we ordered.
I guess hearing the valve reliefs were equal cc's but the compression height being thicker they might be heavier. We are talking about 3sets of pistons right? The ones from it the set put on the scale on video and the new ones. You made the better call any way but I'm getting up there in age and gotta make sure I'm not hearing and seeing things that aren't there!
All three got put on the scale in the video. Thanks for watching!
I am not a number, I'm a free man. ha ha ha ha
Hit the the main caps down into place between the saddles before you torque them. Don’t draw them into the block with the bolts.
Obviously...
Huntertuned (ua-cam.com/video/PSAvsMblvlc/v-deo.html) Did a lot with DIY dyno stuff. Sorry I don't have any leads on gear but he got junk parts, stuck them together cheaply and used an off-the-shelf, budget dyno controller and got it working. He eventually replaced it with better stuff as he needed more capacity.
Love the show. Did you press in your wrist pins or did you heat the rod to get them in?
Had the machine shop do it when they balanced the rotating assembly.
I think I should take my builds off UA-cam.
