I think that important question to ask is - is this really who they are? Wasn't inconsistency pretty much what kept them out of the playoff in last 2 years especially? This team needs a fundamental changes of this existing core, they are just not getting it done and it's frustrating. I actually think they will miss the playoffs this season again, because this team does the same thing over and over again. They are just consistently inconsistent and they keep repeating this pattern year in and year out.
